We had a crazy morning today because we were running late. We get in the car, drive to school, and pull into an EMPTY parking lot. I never thought to check the news to see if schools were closed because the snow stopped quite early Sunday, so the plows had time to clear things out. Roads were clear. The thought never crossed my mind school would be closed. :headache: I suppose maybe the outlying areas didn't get plowed yet, I don't know. So I had to call work and tell them I can't come in. I was so upset because I can't afford to lose a day of pay with the 4 other days I'll already be missing for the holidays. Have to find someplace free to go so we can get out of the house before I go stir crazy. Need to go buy winter gloves so we can make a snowman later. Might go to the museum Tyler likes so well or the library for something free to do. BUT.....since I was bad and stayed up until 2am, I need to see if Tyler will watch a long movie and I'll nap on the couch until it's done! :rotfl2:

Oh Holly that stinks!

Ya know, back in my 20s I was told....Cinderella doesn't exist, the Prince is dead and there is no horse. I lived in Manhattan. I never wanted to believe it. In my 30s I found out they were wrong because I found my Prince.....now, we don't live in a castle and we don't have a horse (but my neighbors do)....but DH is every bit of a Prince in my life.....and no matter what the circumstances, we do live happily ever after.

We do believe in fairy tales and romance and it does come true!

Holly, have you kissed a lot of frogs? If you have, then you're ready for your Prince to come. It will happen.

So happy we could all share it with you!!!

That's so sweet Deb! I feel the same way about my DH- I never thought I'd love a man as much as I love him.

I'm so happy....I just weighed myself and I lost the 5lbs that I gained over Birthday and Turkey day plus another 2lbs for a total of 7lbs in the last two weeks. Slow but steady we're making progress. YEAH!!!

YAY!!

That's fine, I figured you were busy! Early is great.:dance3:

There is a Pirate and Princess Party on May 9th!!!!!pirate: princess:

Ugh, I REALLY want to go! I know about half of our group has to work on Friday though, so we were planning to fly to WDW late. If only we could split into two groups and have half of us fly down early... hmmm.

We are back, but I will never catch up so I am not even going to try. Let me know if there is big news I missed. Our cruise was great! My mom loved it, she danced and clapped at sailaway like all us other Disney kids! :woohoo: She also had her pirate outfit on Pirate night. She is 82. We had William for our server and he was awesome with her. He teased her and had her :rotfl: :rotfl2: every single night. Such fun. I did not want to come home. :sad1:

Awww! I can't wait to get on the ship already!!!

Just a short update here. I'm making some steak terriyaki (sp?) and DH should be home just in time to take it out of the oven. I decided to break up the steak package and make one today and then chop up the rest tomorrow for beef stroganoff.
DH has the day off tomorrow, since he had one vacation day left to use. He doesn't know yet that I'll be putting him straight to work!:santa:

I spent the afternoon at the hospital and the news is not very good. They had to put Frank back into a coma. He has way too much congestion and he is heading towards Pneumonia. They have to put some type of meds down and suction him. They said can not breathe on his own at all. But it a Catch 22...the longer he has the ventalator, the worse the Pneumonia...but while he has Pneumonia they can't take out the ventalator.....

He tossed and turned a lot today and they had to tie him even more tightly so he does not pull tubes out.

So sorry, I will keep him and your family in my prayers.

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry. How awful. :sad1:

The nurses and doctors warned us that it would not be a straight recovery, but a roller coaster recovery. He was just too sick and it is going to be a very long road.

Someone from his church called me this morning and asked if Frank will be at church on the 20th. Even knowing he was having surgery, he volunteered to do something on the 20th. My DBIL (Don's brother) was supposed to be keeping his church up to date on Frank's status, but the person said they had not heard from Doug even once. I am not too sure how she got my cell phone #, but I was glad to talk to her and told her to call me anytime.

I just tried to call Blake to get his e-mail address so I can send him a current picture. No answer. No voice mail. Must mean he was on the other line. Or maybe he got spooked by our phone conversations yesterday and just didn't want to answer my call.

Holly, Don't be silly....he didn't answer his phone because he is working and is like me...HATES answering machines. I refuse to check ours and would disconnect it if it were up to me.

okay, GREAT news. I was sitting at Frank's bedside holding his hand telling him about the kids and family news (like I have been doing every day)...

AND HE WOKE UP!

His eyes opened and then they rolled back into his head but he got them straight and he looked at me and I started to cry. I was there alone....Don was busy. I said squeeze my hand once if you know who I am and he did. And then I said squeeze my hand the number of kids I have and he squeezed my hand 3 times. The nurse came in and she was also very happy.

He stayed awake for about 15 minutes and he watched me everything I did. He still has 4 tubes in his mouth and throat to breathe for him and feed him...so he can't talk.

I kept telling him he had to be still and not fight the nurse (she said he had tried to wake up twice earlier and pull tubes and kick his legs out of the hospital bed) they had tied his hands down. He kept shaking his head YES when I asked him if he understood what I was saying to him.

He faded off to sleep and I had to leave to get Vanessa from Downtown as she was returning from NYC. I really wanted to stay....but there is always tomorrow

Lisa- John and I are praying for you and your family and hope that Frank continues to improve.

I'm sorry about the health roller coaster! I'll continue saying prayers for you guys.

Thanks Lisa! :goodvibes

Grrrrr! I just finished watching Thursday's episode of Survivor online, but the finale won't play for some reason! :headache: I'm hoping that maybe too many people are watching it or something and that if I try again tomorrow night it will work.

I was watching Forensic Files....but John woke from his hibernation and put the game back on....they need some new episodes of FF anyway.

I'm headed to sleep. I was up until after 2am and for some reason Tyler decided 5:30am was what time we needed to start our day today. :scared1: I did manage an hour nap around 10 this morning, but was still almost falling asleep everywhere we went today, so off to bed I go!

Ok Holly, if you guys were up at 5:30am, why in the world were you late in starting your day...???:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

This will make you guys laugh, Vanessa brought home her interim and she got straight A's!! I guess she meant it when she said she would prove herself to me!! With 1,000 in her class, each grading period averages only 6 kids with straight A's!!

She has a boyfriend now too....turns out when Daniel was in 6th grade and this kid (Zach) was in 5th grade Daniel trained him to be a patrol. We all got a pretty good laugh out of that!! His mom loves Vanessa .... and she is spending a lot of time at his house (mansion....actually....). This is very good timing with me spending so much time at the hospital.

does anyone else think Vanessa from HSM can't sing all that well? We have been listening to the CD in the car way too much and it seems she is either singing through her nose or an octave above where she should....maybe it is just me. The rest of the main characters, well Ryan, Troy, Sharpay - evern though she sings like a snot in most of this movie, have really nice voices.
