Lisa, that's GREAT NEWS! :yay: How wonderful that you were there when he woke up.....that must have been comforting for him to see you. Maybe next time you see him he'll have the tubes out!

The tubes won't be out for several days for sure. He just is not strong enough to breathe all by himself.

Lisa,

More California geography lessons for you are in order....50 miles, not so much...they are all Southern CA, I'm Northern CA. Think Golden Gate bridge (kind close, ~60 miles from me) and Disneyland...distance between the 2 places....off to google back in a second....370 miles 5.5 hours...

okay seriously I looked up Chick-a-fil, closest one isn't close enough, more than an hour away. No chicken sandwhich is that good. But when I see one in my travels I'd buy it in the future.

Lisa,

I'm so happy for you. This is such good news. More prayers your way for continued improvement for him.

We went to the $700 Store today....that's Costco during the holiday season :santa: a few sneaky presents and some extra wine to have on hand....uggghhhh one big bill.

I saw San Jose and read San Diego.....sorry....lot on my mind lately. This is a way long shot, but I have friends in San Jose...Clint and Julie Jarvis. They are Sharks Seaon ticket holders.....maybe Lisa (aren't they season ticket holders??) knows them.

Thanks for the good wishes for Frank....

I went to the $300 store on Saturday...and it turned into the $500....but I did not buy any wine...had I done that, it would have been to $700 store.

Are you watching right now? I'm watching the Giants game and recording Survivor. There was 4 left when I last watched it.

The Redskins really look pretty good tonight!! Todd Collins (back up QB) had a baby on Friday in Boston and tonight this is his first start in 10 years!!

Redskins defense is playing awesome....even without Sean Taylor. I think the team really wants to win for him!!

My manger is out and all the pieces placed around it and my first christmas tree is right next to it. It looks nice and I feel peaceful with it out. After all, we are spending Christmas eve in Bethlehem, Christmas City they call it....for the first Christmas. I love being in Bethlehem at christmas. I feel like it really started here! There's even a Bethlehem star lit up above the mountain top in town. It stays lit everyday of the year, but especially at christmas it's nice to see. It gives it real meaning instead of commercial sales.

I don't have a clue as to how John is going to get out of our driveway to go to work tomorrow. There's nothing but ice coating leftover snow. It's trecherous out there. I'm supposed to go to the Post Office to pick up a package. I'm not going tomorrow. I'll stay in the house and decorate my tree.

The only action in the game is the Skins....they look great. I just wish they weren't playing my Giants.....who look pitiful. At least if the Giants came to the game, it would be a better game to watch, even if the Skins are winning.

We'll see how the second half goes.

With Frank being sick and spending so much time at the hospital, I have not started to decorate for Christmas and it makes me sad. A little while ago, I was thinking how much more important it is to be with Frank than to decorate....but it still makes me sad.:guilty: :sad2:

Be yourself and do what comes natural. If you feel eager it's ok to let him know that. He's a real man, not some putz...so it won't scare him away. It'll compliment his eagerness too.

BTW, I'm sure he doesn't look the same either. Besides, you're looking good now so go for it!
You're right Deb. I'm sure he won't be scared away because he's very eager himself. I mean, look how quickly he called me and wants to go out right away! :rotfl:

He was already starting to turn grey when I last saw him all those years ago, and my friend Shelly told me he's much greyer now, but that doesn't bother me. I suspect I'll still see him as the way he used to look, so I don't mind. I just remember that connection we had and that's all that matters for me.

If I don't do anything at all, I'll still put out my manger....it's my favorite piece. Just pick out one favorite decoration and put that out. You don't have to do it all....just pick one thing and it will make you feel better.

It's definitely more important to be with Frank, you're doing the right thing here.

Oh he's definitely eager and confident, it sounds.

I think the grey is very distinguished on a man. I think a woman should dye her grey out, but a man looks better with it.

You're right, all that matters is that connection. If you had it then, you'll have it even more so now that you're both more mature and settled.

I'm so excited for you and I'm so glad he didn't want to wait until after the holidays. I don't think I could take the wait. HA HA HA!!!

Deb, I would have driven you nuts with my excitement! :lmao: I'm so excited, I'm about to jump out through the roof! Calling him tomorrow will definitely help.....and I have another reason to call. I just remembered that my Thursday plans have been moved to the following week, so I'm free Wed, Thurs, & Fri this week. Gives him plenty of opportunity! But things will depend on the weather because he lives a bit South of my home town, so he's about an hour and 20 minutes away. That's the only bad part, but he says the driving isn't a big deal to him because he's here for business occasionally. What's funny is that just last week he says he was in a building RIGHT BEHIND my school! He asked if I know where it is and I told him I parked in front of it every week for class! What a coincidence! I think fate was trying to bring us together. We may have passed each other on the sidewalk on one of his visits here!

That my dear is what I call KISMIT....it's in the cosmos!!! I have a real good feeling about this for you.

When John and I met, we discovered that we had been in the same place at the same time for all of our lives. When it's ready, it happens. If we had met at an earlier time, it would not have worked out for us. I can so relate to what you're saying and this one feels really really good for you. I'm so happy. You definitely need to call him tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. I'll be anticipating your report after the phone call.

 :goodvibes How cool about you and John! OK.....I'll definitely call him tomorrow night. After Tyler's in bed so there are no interruptions this time.

that sounds awesome!! I love rib roast...maybe we'll try this for xmas.

It turned out so well. I was skeptical at first, but it was perfect...the right amount of juices and the crust was crispy yummy! And the best part is it was so EASY!!!! Just be sure to put a note on the oven that says "DO NOT OPEN....OR ELSE!! because once it's opened all the heat comes out and that will ruin the process!

good luck to you all with snow! I am not jealous in the least! :)

If it is going to be cold, I want it to snow! I hate being cold but the snow is so pretty!

defrosting a tree? That's a new one to me!! :)

:rotfl: That sounds like something I would do!

I found zip ties last night at Albertson's 125 for $1.

OK how long did it take from first date to knowing that you had met your lifemate? It took me and John 24 hours. How long did it take everyone else? Who is the shortest and who is the longest? Just curious!

My DD knew before my DH and I were friends. We started dating in HS and everyone told us we would get married. We have never had another BF or GF!

okay, GREAT news. I was sitting at Frank's bedside holding his hand telling him about the kids and family news (like I have been doing every day)...

AND HE WOKE UP!

His eyes opened and then they rolled back into his head but he got them straight and he looked at me and I started to cry. I was there alone....Don was busy. I said squeeze my hand once if you know who I am and he did. And then I said squeeze my hand the number of kids I have and he squeezed my hand 3 times. The nurse came in and she was also very happy.

He stayed awake for about 15 minutes and he watched me everything I did. He still has 4 tubes in his mouth and throat to breathe for him and feed him...so he can't talk.

I kept telling him he had to be still and not fight the nurse (she said he had tried to wake up twice earlier and pull tubes and kick his legs out of the hospital bed) they had tied his hands down. He kept shaking his head YES when I asked him if he understood what I was saying to him.

He faded off to sleep and I had to leave to get Vanessa from Downtown as she was returning from NYC. I really wanted to stay....but there is always tomorrow
:grouphug: Thats great news!

Ok, I go away for a day and come home to pages again! :rotfl2: I just can't keep up.....if I missed anything major please fill me in!

Holly, sounds like there is a new man in your life? (I skimmed the last page or so)
Lisa, great news on your DFIL!
John1, congrats on the win today...you had a scoring game like ours but unfortunately for me, the numbers weren't in the hawks favor :sad2: I don't know what team was out there today playing, I know they had the team names on the jersey's but it wasn't my team!:lmao:

We got home tonight to a nice surprise...some lovely kids (total assumption on my part) decided our home needed a new paint job, yellow and pink to be exact! I guess they thought it would be fun to drive around last night and paint ball a bunch of houses. Luckily a neighbor left us a message about it so we checked it out and got most of it washed off tonight. The rest needs our power washer and tall ladder to get off. It was so frustrating and annoying. Really, why do people think that is fun? That after my Hawks loss, not a good day. :headache:

Hope everyone had great weekends! Off to tuck the girls' into bed.

okay, I want to try this...did you spice the beef at all? How was the meat cooked....was it rare or medium.

I just did salt and pepper so that it would appeal to everyone's taste but you could put any type of seasoning, I'm sure.

The meat was medium rare...so it was pink with red juices flowing. One couple preferred well done, so I put their slices back in the oven for just a tad longer.

Skins 22 Giants 10 Game Over!!!! A good day for you Lisa.

Kaylee, not such a good day for you. So sorry to hear about your house. That's just not funny.

Lisa/LA you're making my mouth water with your beef dinner....I must have John read this so he can cook it for me.

Lisa/DL your pulled pork did the same thing to me while reading it.

Sweetie, get the message when you read this take note of both those meals....you can cook them for us!!!

Kaylee, what an awful thing to have happen to your house! I'd be furious! :sad2:

Yes, there might be a new man in my life, but how it came aobut is a romantic story! I'll try to find the post explaining it and repost for you.
