Connie, got your PM....Congratulations! You're an Official Member of the Champagne Girls! It'll be lots of fun!

I'm watching Blood Diamond. The first scene is very violent. The one thing in life I'm not sure I will every understand is why some of us were born in areas of freedom and safety and others born in such violent lands. Those poor little babies, children, born without knowing anything other than hate and violence. Very depressing. Anyway, sorry to bring a sad conversation up but thought maybe someone here might have some insight. I just can't figure that one out and often gets me pretty depressed.![]()

keep watching, it is a sad movie but it also has a good end.
Well, I don't cook or bake, so I'll say whatever somebody else makes!![]()
Listening to people on the news talking about how they made it to their basement just before their house was torn apart last night. Very scary! There was a 15 month old baby buried under 5-6 feet of debri from a house that was destroyed. Neighbors heard him crying and kept digging until reaching him. He's completely unharmed because he was in sort of a bubble of space where nothing touched him.
Our son Mike just got home from Salt Lake today, and he thinks he can't go on a cruise then. But Chuck and Pat and I might still book!
Also: GOOD NEWS! Mike got his score back from his LSAT exam that he took a few weeks ago and he got 171 out of 180! We are so proud of him. That means he will most likely be admitted to almost any University he chooses. He just needs to get his applications out now!![]()

Plans for the weekend:
HOUSE AUCTION TOMORROW AT 2PM!!!!
Hairdresser on Sun.
BROTHER HEN LEAVES Sun 10:30am back on a flight to Jacksonville, FL where his home base is. He will try to get on another ship and go back to work. He's a merchant seaman....been sailing since he was 18....actually started by scrubbing the decks....now he's an engineer....an officer, I think....actually wears a white uniform.
I love him dearly and I'll be the first one to defend him fiercely....but as DH John likes to say......relatives are like fish....after three days, they stink!

Wow, you have a busy weekend ahead of you! I'm tired just reading about all you'll be doing, but sure sounds like fun times!Tonight is a sleepover here with Molly's friend Hannah. We get up early 6am, have 2 more scouts join us and head to The Marine Institute in Redwood City (near SF, on the bay) to travel on boat and have a Marine Ecology event with my girl scouts. Then Saturday night our troop heads to a computer learning center to have pizza and complete our Cybersure badge.
Then Sunday its off to the races. This is Wilson's last race of the season and lots of family will be going. Paul & Wil leave at 5am, then my nephew picks Molly and I up at 9am, then my sister, Leeanna, and my mom will head out after church.
Very sorry about the loss of your friend. I feel so sad for his little girl too.Went to a "Celebration of Life" today for a very dear friend, one of our wine reps. He passed away last Satuday, rare pancriatitis (sp) that was unusual and severe and his heart gave out. He was only 45 and left a beautiful little girl of 8.
He was always kind and giving and really supported our business.
Always hard to understand the loss of someone so young and vital. He really was the kind of person that filled a room when he walked into it with his deep resonating voice and warm smile.
I will miss him very much.
Karen
GOOD LUCK!!!!It's auction day....I'm going to be a nervous wreck until 2pm today....and even more so after 2pm if it doesn't sell.
John is over there now helping my brother load up his last minute stuff....he'll stay in a hotel tonight and fly out in the morning.
I've got some errands to run this morning then I'll meet them over there. The house is so empty it echoes.....not even a chair to sit on.
Wish us luck that it sells!

How scary. Thankfully that baby is ok.Listening to people on the news talking about how they made it to their basement just before their house was torn apart last night. Very scary! They grow up so quickly!! Hope your little one feels better soon.So I'm catching up on shows. I am not sure what to think about with Private Practice.
So our baby is off the bottle, did it himself. He is turning 2 in a couple weeks. I'm a bit sad...next thing, I will be doing Math with him at the kitchen table!
Our second to youngest is sick, has a fever. He fell asleep at 7pm (very early for him). I hope he feels better tomorrow - he has two birthday parties this week-end. Most likely will miss tomorrow's.
Ok, back to catching up on TIVO. Lisa

I just saw him on MSNBC. There was a short interview with the family. Mom, dad, daughter, son (the baby) were all sitting on the couch for the interview, the baby was in his mom's arms & drinking a bottle. Dad said the baby was tossed about 40 feet(I think), his crib mattress landed on top of him before the rubble piled up on him, so he was one lucky little boy! Nothing more than scratches. Amazing! How scary. Thankfully that baby is ok.
It's only five more days until we leave for FL to start our Wonderful vacation! I've been so busy with readying the house for auction that I really have not started thinking about readying for the trip. I've got a lot to do in just a few short days. It's going to be crazy busy here until we leave.
As of today, no pool or hot tub for me. I still have one stubborn spot on my right leg that just won't go away yet. I told John that we'll soak some more after my hair appointment tomorrow. If it comes off, then I can do pool, if not then no. Either way, the Dr. said no sun on either of the legs. So I'll have to do SPF 50 and cover them with a towel. We'll have to bring supplies and keep the leg wrapped too. Oh well, at least I'll be poolside sipping on a BBC.

I just saw a story on MSNBC about how that's happening many places. They said it's primarily being seen in sports teams because of the sharing of equipment.gosh, at the local high school here there has been a deadly strain of Staph. This is gettign scary!
