My post op appt. went very well. My surgeon told me everything looks great and I should be able to go back to all my normal habits. Hooray!!!

She also told me I could pick up my gall stone from the hospital pathology department if I so desired. Yuck!!

We should have show and tell on the cruise. Tyler's tooth, my toenail, Noel's gallstones and anyone else. My oldest DS (13) would love it. He's going to be an 1700's Barber-Surgeon for halloween complete with gummi body parts.

Well I DID IT...I booked us on the Sept 27 '08 double dip with our friends from our first cruise. We just realized that in the next 11 months we will be cruising three times....a 4 night, a 15 night and a 7 night. After 15 nights, I won't want to get off on the 7 night.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

 :cool1:
How exciting! Maybe you should book yourself for a back to back, so it would be 14 nights, you know, wean yourself slowly to a shorter cruise:lmao:

Kathe

hmm..poor choice of smilies, looks like my cool guy is kicking the bananas sorry for the violence

Glad your visit went well and you are feeling so much better. So... did you pick up the gall stone? I think I would have wanted to take a peek at it , but not keep it:confused3
:

My DH wants me to but I haven't decided yet.
:confused3

Holly....loved the Tyler Tooth Tale....it showed that before you could even react to him, he already adjusted to the whole thing and was fine with it. How quickly little ones can do that....it amazes me!

Noel.....sooooooooooooo happy it went well with the follow up. We're both getting better everyday.....in more ways than one, I say!!!!!!!!!

:lmao: :goodvibes :lmao:

Hallelujah that we are both getting better every day!! One cruise in December and one in May should be the final cure!!

I went to mark when I could book my DCL excursions in my PDA, but I already inputted the date. I'm slipping in my OCD planning.

congratulations! Sounds great - were you able to get your room in Sept?

Fifteen, and I missed 1978, the year I graduated HS . . .

I made one last post on the dog thread you started V . . . I am done over there.

Let's see who gets the first on 1999 and then we can party like it's 1999 until 2000. I probably be asleep during the whole thing.

Hello everyone!

I am back from Berlin and a skating competition (she did great!). I am off to CT on Sunday, but I am going to try to catch up here. I hope all is well with everyone!

Kim

So good to hear from you!! Glad you DD did well in her skating competition. I remember years ago when Samantha skated doing a parents hospitality suite with Kristie Yamaguchi's mom, Carole. She and the other parents convinced me the cost of competition at their level ($100K per year) was not something that Samantha would be doing.

We will adjust and when we do we'll find more time for us and that's not so bad. Then like you said, we'll have to take more trips and visit often and that's not so bad.

There's a good side to everything that happens. It will just take some getting used to, that's all.
:flower3: :upsidedow :flower3:

I know just what you mean about adjusting to being the only one around the old homestead. My sisters are all scattered now and I am now the only left in the San Francisco Bay area. My youngest DD is still living at home but I am sure that will surely soon change. The other DD lives one and half hours away and my son lives in Mt. Pleasant, SC. It does take some getting used to but as you said there is a good side to everything. Our glass is half full and not half empty.

Been so busy around here, I haven't caught even one season premiere yet!

Samantha and Serenity and Brian came home on Monday. It is way too quiet at my house, I can't believe we have a baby here! Serenity is still pretty sleepy but is waking some and looking around and stretching. She is being nursed by her mom, and yet is sleeping for 6 hours at night. She has already gained 4 oz since she came home 2 days ago. We had to take Brian to the airport tonight, he had to get back to Alberta to work:sad1: Samantha is very sad today, but he'll be back in 5 weeks to collect her and the baby.Thankfully, one of her relatives that was out of town and hadn't seen the baby yet came by and they have gone out for a little visit, so that will help to cheer her tonight, but tomorrow may be a very long day.

Maybe you can encourage her to start writing in her baby book. Does she have any other hobbies that you can encourage her to pursue?

No....can you believe it....a year in advance and all I could get was another GTY Cat 6. I went over to that thread and they've been at it since Feb and are on page 150 or something. Not as chatty as we are.

I'll have to wait to be assigned again. I hate the wait!!!!!!

I am the HR director for our company and this is how we would percieve it -

If no other written correspondance has occurred I would agree with the letter/email - two rounds of written thank you's however, is overkill. I would have suggested that thank you's to everyone after the interview as appropriate, not staggered over time. We would see it as an afterthought that you left the others out at the time of the first thank you. On the other hand, if you wrote to just one person before and you didn't include the reference to "everyone" then maybe it would be ok to address them now. Definately not a second letter to the same ones you have already contacted.

I understood the OP's mother who was an HR director suggested the letter, not the HR director where she actually interviewed.

:grouphug: I know you really want this. It is a fine line and I would hate to see you lose it by being too agressive. At the same time you are the only one that talked to these people so only you can mke a judgement as to how they may receive another contact from you at this point.

I hope I didn't pick the wrong time to be more active on this thread. I can always go back into lurking mode -lol

Also as an HR person V, I think this is pretty good advice. Unfortunately, in my experience, 99% of the time, the ones that bug me the most, are the ones who have some issue I have not yet found out. It would make me start to think "what is wrong with her, if she keeps bugging me about this job - must be an issue somewhere". If you act too desperate for a job, it makes people think no one else must want to hire you.

I know this is tough. Hang in there. Good things can happen to good people.
