It is a "Bear Bat" a fuzzy bat she got with the bear. Sophia said it looked like a breadstick!

Thank you! As far as I know her parents don't watch Firefly Samantha says the inspiration for the name came from the Serenity Prayer.

Lots of work, yes, but I'm really not complaining.Actually, I thought of you today. I think I read one of your posts last night about how you were going to have a nap, then decided to do a load of laundry, go to the store....etc, etc ... and never did get that nap? My day was something like that, but I knew from the start there would be no napping

Kaylee-Thanks for the congrats. This is my very first grandchild, and it really is exciting!

I'm having quite a year...my daughter was married so I became a mother-in-law, son moved out west so I became an empty nester, turned the big 50 and now not only am I a grandma, but I'm once again sharing my home, with Brian, Samantha and little Serenity!

Yeah, a breadstick! That's what it looks like! Too funny! But seriously....I'm starting to think I really need to check out one of those Build A Bear places. We don't have one here in Lansing, but there's one in the smaller city where I'm from (Kalamazoo), so next time I go home to visit, I just might have to take Tyler there.

Our old house goes on the market on Monday....send all those good "selling" vibes our way! We have been over there all the time putting the finishing touches on that house.

We finally got a Build a Bear store a year or two ago. My daughter went and made a bear for the new baby , he is really cute. we have to go back and get some clothes for her though. We were told the baby was going to be a girl, but sometimes they are wrong, so my daughter didn't want to dress it just in case I'm relieved she had a girl, I didn't show quite as much restraint and would have had to return a huge pile of pink clothes otherwise

Well, I suppose I should head to sleep. This week I need to make sure I get plenty of rest every day because by 5am Saturday Tyler & I will be on the road, headed to Tennessee (about 1/2 hour North of Knoxville) for my brother's wedding. Very short trip (but VERY long drive). We'll be driving back home on Tuesday. I wish I could afford to take more time off work and stay longer, but just can't right now. Really shouldn't be taking Mon & Tues off, but I obviously can't drive down on Saturday and back again on Sunday. I get out of work Friday at 12:30, so I wish I could drive there that day, but can't miss class. Already using one for vacation in November and need to save the other absence for emergency or if Tyler gets sick.

Sorry.....rambling.....must mean I'm too tired to be online! Goodnight all!

Well, I suppose I should head to sleep. This week I need to make sure I get plenty of rest every day because by 5am Saturday Tyler & I will be on the road, headed to Tennessee (about 1/2 hour North of Knoxville) for my brother's wedding. Very short trip (but VERY long drive). We'll be driving back home on Tuesday. I wish I could afford to take more time off work and stay longer, but just can't right now. Really shouldn't be taking Mon & Tues off, but I obviously can't drive down on Saturday and back again on Sunday. Yes, Tyler's been to 2 weddings, one of which he was the ring bearer (at his dad's wedding just over a year ago). But this one will be very small (maybe around 30 people), and will be held at my brother's house, so it's very informal. He does have a large house (4,000 sq. ft.), but I believe they're holding the ceremony in their back yard.

I have to share with you all the great Deal of the Year my DH got yesterday. He was in need of some new shorts because he has lost 35 lbs and everything he has is to big. So we went to Penny's and found some on clearance. He got 185.00 worth of shorts for only 13.00. Such the deal
