Some wild noises on the Africam this morning! I gave up - yes I gave up attempting to catch up... I was at 1921 and you guys wore me out.

Anynews from Miss v - on the job????:surfweb:

Although I may not post as much as a lot of you, I try to read as often as I can, and am amazed at how generous and kind you all are to one another. So, where generally in life I have learned to be a little careful what I share with others, simply to protect myself from hurtful comments and judgements, I have decided to share with you what has been one of the most joyous days of my life.

Today I became the grandmother to the most beautiful baby girl:angel: :cloud9:

At 9:25 AM , Serenity was born weighing 8lbs 14 oz.

You may remember my daughter was married in May. Well, two days later, my son (who moved to another province in Feb) informed me that his girlfriend, who still lives here, was pregnant and expecting in Sept. We have had a few tough months. His girlfriend, Samantha (yes, yet another Samantha! ) and him planned to move her out to where he is after the baby was born. She is young and scared:sad1: One day she wants to move, the next she wants to stay here, how hard to have a new baby and move half way across the country where there are no friends or family. She does not have a mom around which just makes this harder. So my son took some time off work and came home a couple of weeks ago and Samantha has moved in with me for now. And finally, a week late (after being told by the doctors she was definately going to be early:rolleyes: ) a sweet baby girl was born this morning:goodvibes They will be coming home, to my house, on Monday. My son needs to go back to work on Thurs and Samantha and the baby will stay with me until Nov then move out west. I am so worried about how they will make out and whether Samantha will actually be able to follow through with these plans. But I try very hard, especially after losing my husband 5 years ago, to live each and every day for itself. So, on this very special day, I hope to share with all of you , the joy of being a grandma for the very first time.

Kathe

Congrats!!! New babies are so much fun. I agree, don't worry and enjoy the baby. Everything will work out!

Me too! Up at 6am and I don't have any little ones to worry about. :sad2:

Me either, unless you count feeding and walking the dogs. Their Daddy just took them out to walk - so I'm going to make them a yummy breakfast and then get out and do a long walk myself at a Power pace!

Africam is moving around this morning. Lots of crazy bird noises!

Bubba - thanks again for this link, I enjoy it SO much!:surfweb:

Alert, alert Rhino's on Africam!

This is just too cool for words.:thumbsup2

Sorry, they were wart hogs, I need to maximize the window cuz the tusk threw me off!!!!

Jackie - on your fly by reads, did you see the snuba info?

Yep, and have the post/page # written down for further perusal.

Kathe, congrats on becomming a grandmother! I'm sure Samantha and Serenity will flourish in your care!

V, I was going to "cast my vote" for a Lab (or a Golden Retriever) as the best large, family dog.

I can't stop thinking about my December WDW adventures and all the stuff I'll get to show Peg (as she was only there for 12 hours...MK & Epcot...quite a few years ago). So here's a WDW QUESTION OF THE DAY for all of you:

What non-thrill ride attraction is your favorite in each of the four parks?:
(OK...you can split Epcot into two...Future World and World Showcase)
Here's mine (at least for the mood I'm in right now)

AK - Festival of the Lion King
MK - Mickey's Philharmagic
MGM - Beauty & The Beast
Epcot FW - Ellen's Energy Adventure
Epcot WS - Off Kilter and British Invasion

hmmmmm.....4 out of 5 seem to be musically themed here......

.

WARTHOG.....Pumba visits Africam!

...... a very thirsty Warthog

Well yesterday is over and it wasn't a pretty task. Everybody's emotions were high, nerves were raw, exhaustion setting in and everytime you picked up something to decide whether to keep or throw out, you grabbed the tissues. It was not easy.

Venetia, just having been through it yourself, I know you realize what was involved.

But we got it all done. The only thing left to go back and finish today are all the Christmas decorations....more memories.....more tissues. Then we're finished and the house is empty. I will be glad when this weekend is over. I think we have all had enough.
:guilty: :sad1: :guilty:

For you today Deb.

A miracle! Tyler slept until 9 this morning! The kid who's always up at 6 or 7am finally wore out! ;) It was cute, I heard him stand next to me for a second, then I heard him whisper to himself something along the lines of "Mom's sleeping" and I heard him playing in his bedroom and whispering to himself. So cute! I didn't go back to sleep of course, just wanted to see what he was doing. The first thing he said to me was about how much fun he had last night. So we talked about the evening again. :goodvibes

Tyler was watching "Alice in Wonderland" while eating breakfast (I never realized as a child how bizarre the movie really is) and has now asked me to come cuddle with him on the couch under a blanket. Very cute! Off I go! After the movie we'll start out day! Still trying to figure out what we'll do before the 2:30 planetarium show....we'll just wing it and have a fun day.

Have a great day everybody!

Hope your day is going great.:)

Deb, I do know what you are going through. It is hard to decide what to keep. I wanted to keep everything, but I know that could not be done. to you for finishing today. Just take all the memories and store them in your heart.

Congrats on the latest big post!!pirate: pirate: pirate:

Where were Venetia and Bubba?!!!;)

Karen

They stayed up way to late the night before and slept right through. Good thing Lisa was on deck keeping a weathered eye out.

You guys really were chatty last night. I was too tired to post when I got back home, but I really enjoyed the reading.

Congratulations LISAG520 you pirate wenching thief...29k is all yours!

Good job Angie and Dr. Hug for trying.....you might need a few tips from Venetia and Bubba.....HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

A good pirate never shares his/her secrets.

I went out today and drove...it hurt a little, but it was worth it. The jewelry store called to say that my repairs were ready. I had mom's wedding ring made into a pinkie ring for me....it's a five stone marquee diamond band. And I took her pear shaped engagement stone and made it into a pendent and turned it upside down into a tear drop for mom. I feel better wearing them....first of all because they're diamonds, but mostly because mom wore them. :cloud9:

Deb, I want to share this. All the DM,DD and DGD's in my family have birthstone cross pendants. My mother gave me mine. I have added hers to my chain and wear both now.

Kathi…Congratulations on the arrival of baby Serenity. A baby is always a blessing.:cloud9:

I am wiped out...

I laid out all the girls clothes for the week....am on the fourth load of laundry (yes, we have tons!), did all the dishes....cleaned out some Easter decorations that I am taking to work (we have a yard sale cube), vacuumed and am sitting down to take a break.

I am going to drag out the Halloween decorations this afternoon and decorate while we watch football.
