I really think it is some type of allergy. She says it is itchy now. It was not itchy this morning. It is spreading....from 5pm to 9pm....did not spread during the day.

Oh my, when you think about doing stuff like this, you think about all the fun times...not the times you worry yourself sick.

If it were my child that had this rash, I would not be too worried at all. But she does not belong to me. Her mom has intrusted me to take care of her. Her mom is out of town this weekend and her cell does not work where she is and there is no internet access.

Oh well...

Did you see the Gabrielle storm.....heading right to the beach house.....

Another thing I miss, the beach house. I can't leave my mom and I can't leave Vanessa right now.

Yes, if we need to go, we will go fist thing in the morning.

I know what you mean, I always watch and wait with my kids. It must be hard since she isn't "yours" The topical cream will probably help it a lot. I would use calendula/aloe and stuff like that, but I am not beyond benadryl for comfort measures. Hope it goes away overnight!

Yes, in Washington DC we have so many things to see.....do we ever see them....no of corse not. With Vanessa here now two weeks on Sunday, I still have not taken her downtown yet.

She has made a lot of friends and loves spending time with kids her own age. School was a challenge the first week....but we made it!!

This morning she woke up with a small rash on her face. So I asked myself, if this were my child what would I do?? I decided to give her Benedryl and send her off to school. I sent her mom an e-mail. Her mom suggested the doctor, it I think she needs it.

She came home from school and the rash was pretty much the same. She got invited out to dinner with a group of kids. She went out to dinner and came home a little while ago and the rash has really grown now. It is only on her face?? She says she does not have allergies, but she did say they were itchy.....

What would you guys do? Would you take her to the hospital? She has insurance as an exchange student. I guess I should read the policy...

There is a virus rash like 5th disease going around now. Sophia had it last weekend, and still has some on her legs. Hers did not itch much, but was really hot and blotchy. Our Ped had her take believe it or not, Tagamet. Not much you can do if it is this. She may have picked this up.

I am going to bed. I am so tired. On top of everything else, a dear friend of ours dropped dead on Sunday evening....while outside in the street visiting with neighbors.

Today was the funereal and Don planned all the music for the service. I helped with the reception. 400 showed up for the service and reception. It was a wonderful tribute to his life.

He was such a great guy. I had visited with him on Sunday morning. Gretchen says she was the last one he tickled.....I have a very heavy heart.

Ok, gotta ask, why tagamet? Did he explain that one? Never heard of that for viral rashes. hmmmmmm:confused3

So in one of my three classes tonight, our prof told us to group off into "law firms" for the semester. So instead of individuals getting called on in class, our "firm" will get called on and we'll have our partners to help answer and discuss whatever she throws at us. Very cool! On the first day of each class for the semester, I try to strategically place myself near the cute guys (if there are any). This time I hit the jackpot because I turned around and the 2 guys behind me asked if I wanted to create a firm with them. One guy is in his 50s, but the cute one is probably my age and VERY smart. We had to work as a firm twice tonight, so I imagine we'll have similar opportunities each week! Now.....to find out if he's single. He's unmarried with no kids. :rolleyes1

That makes me feel a little better that you are okay with benadryl. I guess we will see in the morning.

I told Vanessa I would keep my phone next to the bed. Itold her to call me if she needed anything during the night.

That's the second person that you knew that passed over in such a short period of time. My heart goes out to you and I'll send you some positive prayers to ease your pain.

Yes, and a third passed yesterday....don't they say something in three's?
I am going to a funeral at Arlington National Cemetary (he passed 6 weeks ago...that is how long you wait to be buired at Arlington) for a friend of my mom's (taking her) ..... but funerals there are so Cool!! I feel lucky to get to go.

I have to remember I have a job!!

Good Night Lisa, sweet Mickey dreams....I hope all goes well with Vanessa overnight and that it gets a little better....who knows, maybe she's alergic to the laundry detergent that you use....it could be anything.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

:rotfl2: It gets funnier.....I really do have a system. The first night of class is very important because wherever you sit, that's your assigned seat for the entire semester. As soon as class starts, the prof passes around a seating chart for you to enter your name wherever your seat is. So here's what I do: I make sure I get there late enough where most people are already seated, so I can look around and find some cute guys I'd like to plop down next to, but I have to make sure I don't get there so late that most seats are filled. It's a very tricky maneuver and the timing isn't always right. But one semester I had a really great time chatting with a cute guy all term. One semester it backfired because although the guy was a cute Italian from Jersey, he had HORRIBLE breath! But this semester looks promising, at least for that one class. :lmao:

Well, law professors can be pretty dry, so you have to find creative ways to stay entertained. :lmao:
