Goodnight everybody!

You're really looking forward to wearing that wig, aren't you! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:
Please don't encourage him.:lmao: I leave the room to finish :laundy: and I see he's looking for more recruits.

Not as much as your looking forward to using that new pink camera!:rotfl2: Whatever I can do do bring a smile to someones face!:) Still not skeered! Not to many jumpin at the chance to become a Tequila Senorita!

I'm up for hostessing. I plan on bringing my favorite bottle.

Ventia:

I had ordered some butterflies for Molly's bday a few years back and loved the company we used. I was nervous about them being ok when we wanted to let them free. They came fed ex and everyone of them was ready to fly. I'll try to look up the company name and forward it to you for your mom's celebration. I love your idea. The butterflies are such gentle and beautiful creatures and to see them fly from ones own hand is very uplifting (pardon the pun)

You and Deb are daily in my prayers for peace in your grief. :grouphug:

Nan

I would love to have the name of the company you used. I read that if you whisper your secret wish to a butterfly it will carry it up to heaven and only tell it to God.

That didnt come out quite right did it!

P.S. How does your DH look in a wig? Might need some backup!

No honey that didn't come out right:rotfl:

You wouldn't want me to drink tequila! It comes back up almost immediately after it goes down.
2156.gif

holly are you drinking good tequila? The good stuff is like a fine Cognac. And it should be sipped not tossed down in one shot.

Holly, you will love this story. Youngest DD, Samantha just came in and plopped on my bed to say, "Ok, as much as I hate to admit it, you are right."
Music to this mother's ears.

She said, "You were right about Crystal (her high school), you were right about USD (her University), you were right about Oliver (ex boyfriend) and now as much as I hate to admit it, you are right, I am going to go to law school. I want to do this internship for next few months and then I am going to start studying for the LSAT while I work part time. Every job I look at bores me and for what I want to do, I need a law degree. Ok, Mom, you can say, I told you so."

I didn't tell her I told you so but what I did tell her is that I was proud of her for coming to her own conclusions.

Hey! That's cool! Our 28 y/o DS, Mike, who was on the Trans Atlantc with us has decided that he doesn't like Electrical Engineering ( which he has a Graduate Degree in ) and he is boning up for the LSAT which he is scheduled to take on Sept. 28, then he is going to start applying to schools for next fall. He is really "up" for this! I guess he was ready for a change. :yay:

Some might remember I have a good friend that has non-hodgkins....she just had her first CAT scan and it was good news! So chemo can stop. She gets another CAT scan in three months.

And then my assistant just found out this week that her mom has uterine cancer. She is having surgery next week. Argg...cancer.

Off to watch Big Brother. Have a good night and happy birthday to all the birthday girls! Lisa

Well, first doctor appointment of day went well. All moles checked and "normal". Now off to regular Doctor appointment and check up with gastroenterologist to schedule colonoscopy (not fun).

Ciao for now!!

I'm glad it went well. :goodvibes I've heard those colonoscopy are no fun at all. Hope your surgery goes well...it's amazing how the Dr's make everything look so easy.

I'm on page 1623...I thought I had less to go to catch up:sad2:

And I would be on the table doing a dance of some sort! That would NOT be a pretty sight! :rotfl: :lmao: Tequilla is no good for me.

Evenin' MrsMork, glad I could provide a good chuckle, as unintentional as it was! How about a margarita or two?:thumbsup2

Good morning.
Yes, thats true. Its much better this afternoon. It will also be a selling factor which is also another big thing going on right now. We are probably putting this house up for sale and moving to Iowa, everybody here goes IOWA but yes I have alot of family there. My cousins who are like sisters to me have 6 kids that are like nieces and nephews. One died last year, she was 13 and had Cystic fibrosis and her brother has it too and hes 11 now so prob wont live more then another 10 years . He loves bethany and shes very close to all of them up there . Bethany said shed even give up being close to WDW for them so were going to look at houses in October. Were just not sure when to do it, before or after cruise and such. Ive been starting to go through things a little at a time ...............omg im rambling like Holly LOL
Good thing is Ill be close to Holly and Tyler

I didn't know you were planning on moving. Does everyone just get fed up of the heat and move north? It is good to be close to family. Cystic Fibrosis is a cruel diseaseand I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a sister to the disease when you also suffer from it! A double whammy really.:sad2:

Please continue to ramble!:)

DCL told me that they will have busses running to DL from about 8am until 12pm on the 25th - $30 per person. Sounds high but not to have to mess with luggage would be nice.

I bet they only transfer folk to the Disney hotels though. What would people be doing still at the port at midnight?:confused3 Some staff maybe, but they wouldn't need to go to the hotels.

wow you guys have been a chatty bunch lately!!

School started again, so you probably won't see much of me on here...especially wednsdays--ugh work at 7, class from 11-8:30....that's a long day!

Deb, I know I'm late, but I'm so glad you're feeling better and you're at home where you belong....

That is a very long day. Hope you can pop in sometimes!

Ok, but where are you meeting me for dinner? I have to do BUDGETs tomorrow -but the good news is I GET TO GO TO CABO ON BUSINESS!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: Yes, I have to scope out a place to have our event next FEBRUARY... I LOVE MY JOB!:dance3: :yay:

Have you been to Cabo before? You can suss it our four us all too!:)

Your Wednesdays sound like my Fridays will be starting next week: work at 8:30am, then straight to class from 1-9pm (sometimes 10pm). But your Wednesdays will be a bit longer than my Fridays. Yuck!

Holly, that is bad for a Friday!

Prayers and :grouphug: and pixie dust

DH is going to call tomarrow to see what some companies say. Sorry it is taking so long, DH works all week, I work go to school and entertain my mom. I am very lucky in that DH helps with the house (he COOKS!!!) and has taken an intrest in this cruise planning.:dance3:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the birthday people.:dance3: :jumping1::tigger::stitch::figment:

I don't think there is any hurry with the transfers, so don't worry. Thank your hubby for doing this.

That's very good of you and when you miss mom, go be with your auntie so you can feel better together. I'm planning on being with some favorite family and friends on Turkey day out of town because I just can't be home. Tomorrow is mom and Ray's 21st Anniversary and I'm taking him to the moseleum...that's going to be hard too....I'm just taking one day at a time, any more than that right now is overwhelming.
:cloud9:  :cloud9:

Take care today Deb. I will be thinking about you and Ray.

Me too! I'm hoping the other board "Ship of Theives" will start humming soon. I get so lost, trying to catch up...I feel like Bobby Banana being bounced around in a crowd. (Just a looking for a reason to use a smiley.)

I go on the Ship of thieves too, but it has been quiet of late. there was a good weight loss thread, but either everyone had lost the weight or.......! In one sense it easier for arrangements than here as we arrange something on here and it gets lost down the pages and then I can't find it again. Love chatting on here though.

Some might remember I have a good friend that has non-hodgkins....she just had her first CAT scan and it was good news! So chemo can stop. She gets another CAT scan in three months.

Great news about your friend Lisa. What a relief and what a difference no chemo will make.

Cancer is a nasty disease. One good thing is that many are now treatable or can be avoided with lifestyle changes. My MIL is 91, has all sorts wrong with her, wants to die as she is fed up, but is terrified of getting cancer. She keeps goling for all these tests, is relieved when it isn't cancer, but wouldn't have had surgery or treatment if it was.:confused3

Well it is 10 years since Princess Diana died.

Just watching some of the memorial service on TV that her sons wanted to organise so they could remember her in their way and not the way of the funeral service. Harry just said a lovely tribute.:sad1:

We woke up on that morning, 10 years ago, a Sunday, switched on the radio and it was in the middle of a report - I thought the Queen Mother must have died, but soon it came clear.:sad2:

So, it is 10 years since we came to the west coast. We were helping at a wedding reception for friends on the day of the funeral - they held a minute's silence before the bride entered the church and then proceeded.

3 days later we set off for our 3 week amazing holiday. We flew down to London for our flight to LA, and when we flew over London about to land, you could see the carpet of flowers left by the public.

Hi

I remember that as my son was only 5 months old and I was crying when I was watching tv about her funeral. As I had baby emotional too.

What a beautiful woman, Diane.

Last night I found Budget rent-a-car which is 6 miles away from the port (located at east ocean blvd, phone # 562-495-4316). Budget doesn't offer a shuttle service or pick up service to the port but I spoke to the agency and they said it costs about $15 to take a taxi and if you have a two day or longer rental they'll give you $10 back. So, I was able to reserve a Taurus with a different drop off location for $64 (one day rental). DH will go rent the car and pick us up at the port...since it's only 6 miles away, it'll take just a few minutes. If several people rent from that location, they can share the cost of the taxi...just a thought!

I think that's the car rental service we used the last time we took a Panama Canal cruise into Los Angeles- I recognize the East Ocean Blvd address. It worked out really well for us. It's just a 5-10 minute drive to the rental place, and the drive to Anaheim wasn't bad at all.

Good for him! I used to teach LSAT prep, and my advice would be to take as many of those exams as possible under test conditions. One of the hardest things about the test is finishing it in time, but if you get used to the flow of the questions, it becomes a lot easier. I didn't take an LSAT review course when I was studying, but I scored ridiculously high on the exam, and I owe that mostly to just taking the test over and over.
Getting a law degree when you already have a science/engineering background is a great idea. There are a lot of jobs where they want someone with that type of background.

Deb- Glad you were able to get a full night’s rest now that you’re home.
Yes, I’m the oldest in my family. I have four siblings- George is 26, Gillian is 17, Giuliette is 9, and Grant is 4! I’m the mother hen for sure! They’ll all be on the cruise, so we can’t wait!

Kymma- glad the surgery seems to be working out for you. I’d love to be able to see without my glasses, but I hate the idea of surgery.

Heather- Sorry about the air conditioner :(

Nanette- I hope you can squeeze in a DL trip.. you have so much stress with your mom right now. I hope everything works itself out without too much trouble.

It was a long day of continuing education yesterday! This morning, DH has his cat scan, so he’s just finishing up his undelicious barium drink. YUCK! I also have to write my speech for the wedding tomorrow. The good news is that we’re going to a great Italian restaurant tonight for the rehearsal dinner. I can’t wait!

Hi everyone, I have'nt been on in a loooooooooong time. I do try and keep up but I mostly just lurke.
I am booked for this cruise, my very first ever and I am going solo but I am so excited. I live in Western Canada and I see that there are other Canadians on this cruise. I would like to know how I can link my dining (2nd) with another solo dis'er, and when and I would like to know what excursions some of you have so I can join some of you. Also, what are the special get togethers that have been planned? I see the champagne girls that I would love to join.
Thanks, I may not post for a while but I try to catch up every day or so.

Angie

Nice to see you again Angie! As you've already been advised/reminded, we got some things in the works already. I also imagine after the holidays, things will really pick up for event planning and finalizing!

I know I haven't been over there in a while....just jabbering away (or reading away some days) here.

I'll talk to Peg today about re-working the location for the Budget car rental...having the pick up at the closer location certainly makes more sense...why spend more on a taxi?? Any other ZONIES planing on driving home? We could have a caravan across the desert! (Wait....I think I did that in a past life!!!)

Short day at work for me, should be off at 3PM. Hmmmm. nap? swim? movie? whatever shall I do?????
