Well I received the same generic email reply, using that term 'allowing'! I think they have now rolled out a standard reply due to the many emails. We will be writing another!
I still haven't received a response to my 2nd e-mail. Maybe they're taking longer to reply because of all the e-mails they must be receiving about this! Well, that's what they get for not answering our questions! But if we all continue to get the same standard response, I guess we'll have to find out how to contact somebody higher up. I'm bound and determined to get an answer!

Have a good run and a lovely day Alvaro. I know we are all looking forward to meeting you next May.

Linda(Seaulater), who I believe you spent the day with on the last PC crossing, should be back from her Med cruise any day now, so hopefully she will be posting on here again soon.

Alvaro, those of us who haven't yet met you are looking forward to meeting you too when you hop on for the day! :goodvibes

Enjoy your run! My mom runs marathons and used to always try to get me involved with running, but other than cross country and track in high school, I just never could stay motivated with it. Didn't like it enough. I get bored easily, so I'm happiest pounding out my time on a treadmill so I can watch tv while running! :rotfl2:

Hello Everybody

We got back home safety after 10 days Meditterrean Magic Disney Cruise.

We had a FABULOUS times!! The weather was beautiful but very HOT HOT in Rome!! Good sailing, very smooth sailing, only had one morning with thunder storm and pour of raining then suddenly stop change to sunny while we were in Pisa.

Everything was great apart from leaving beautiful Cruise on last day sob sob!!

But roll over to Panama Canal Cruise as my husband's parent didn't know that we booked it few months ago and on the cruise was told that it was SOLD OUT!! Some people want to booking it but unfortunately not!

Yes,

We got email from DU about 100 dollars more:scared1:

Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your Med cruise! Lucky you! :goodvibes

Deborah, welcome back.Glad you had such a great time. I saw on another thread that you had 3 bags not arrive back with you!! BA seem to be in a big mess re baggage.

Yes, we are all up in arms about the $100 per person increase and are emailing DCL , but to no avail as yet. What they are doing doesn't seem morally correct, but they seem to have interpreted the rules to allow them to pass on the new charge to passengers even though we are already paying the old charge in our original fares! We are keeping pestering though.

Hi all, I've been popping in a few times this week and seeing all the posts regarding the $100 increase. We just got back from our vacation in So Cal for some sailing in San Diego and a visit to DLR and the Grand Californian. Quick note: Had fun and won "the year of million dreams fastpasses" on our last day. Now trying to get ready for school starting on Aug 13. {TOO EARLY!}

Maybe I'm jinxing myself or my current travel agent is garbage (AAA - Arizona) [side note: I'm switching my res to my friend, Janette @ traveleventures.com], but we haven't received any notification of an increase. This has me worried as I don't want to lose my res because of non-payment of the increase. Have any of you been asked to pay up your deposits?

Thanks! I just got back from running... ahhh... feels better now:banana: Yet, my position on the $100 has not changed a bit :confused3

I do remeber Linda! That has been by faaaaar my best day at workparty:

Training for a marathon is tedious but it pays off on marathon day... specially if it is the Disney marathon :woohoo:

My deposit was required a long time ago when I booked the cruise. It doesn't need to be paid in full until 90 days before. I would check online with your res # to make sure it's still listed. Plus you can compare the price.

Disney knows that for every person that drops out of this cruise that one more will sign up and at the higher cost than those of us that booked the first day. They don't seem to really care as long as they get their money! Maybe if more people would not do their excursions and let them lose money on them. Every port we are going to is very easy to get around by cab.

On another note - I am thinking about getting a charter boat to see the cliff divers in Acapulco and am wondering if others would be interested?

You're welcome! But you know, I hate to say I think Disney is right in their assumptions.

I am as much of a Disney fan as many of the cruisers on this list, and I would not cancel this cruise for this reason (+$100) Althought I think is totally UN- ::MickeyMo what appears to be happening here. It is, IMHO, unfair and it borders in what I would consider unethical... but that's just me.:sad2: What a decision like this would do to me is to seriously consider not cruising again with DCL. I don't mind Disney charging big bucks for just about anything with their logo on it (bring me one of those :earsboy: bars anytime!!!) What would really get me  is if they try to charge me twice for anything.

My whole DCL experience is limited to 9 hours on the MAGIC as one of the pilots on the May 2005 WB cruise and, after that, a 4-days Bahamas cruise on the WONDER in January 2006. I wonder if my family will ever make it to a "real" 7-days cruise on DCL. I guess that will depend a lot on how this one turns out to all of you...

Looking forward to meeting you on the MAGIC next May!:dance3:

Now off to run a few miles to wear this off!!! lol...

I am confident that eventually we will get a better explanation. Don't let this one experience sour you on DCL - it is, and remains one of the best vacations my family ever takes, and we get to spend time with many people who enjoy the same things we do.

I hope you and your family do get a 7 night cruise some day!

WAY off topic.....sorry....but do any of you computer folks know of a free website for finding a person's e-mail address? Does such a site even exist? I'll try to make this story short, since it's so far off topic. I had sort of an "on again, off again" relationship for 2 1/2 years with a guy I used to work with. We never got beyond a few hugs, but dated quite often. Every time I'd start to get over him, he'd come around again and we'd start all over again. Friends would tell me he really likes me, but he was afraid to get involved because he's Puerto Rican and his family is very strict about not dating white people. I finally had enough of that and told him I can't stay on the roller coaster and told him to leave me alone until he gets the guts to follow his heart and not what his family says. Well, it is now 2 years later and I got an e-mail from somebody I still keep in touch who works with him, telling me Carlos wanted me to e-mail him, gave me his e-mail, but told me Carlos wasn't sure about the punctuation. It's his first name, last name, and jr. with periods separating somewhere. I've tried every combination I can possibly think of and each comes back as undeliverable. There must be a website out there where I can do a search for his e-mail address. Any ideas?

I know you can try with the people search function on yahoo.
Good luck!

Thank you! :goodvibes I can't find a people search on yahoo. But I did a google search for e-mail lookup sites and all I came up with are sites that make you pay for the info. So I'm just going to make it simple and send an e-mail to my contact who works with Carlos and ask him to just have Carlos e-mail me or call me. DUH! I was making it too difficult. I just got so excited about him wanting to get in touch with me again that I got a little goofy. ;)

Hmmm....there are tons of e-mails for people with that name. I scrolled through them all and can't find one that's even close to what our mutual friend provided. I'll just stick with plan B and ask the friend to just have him call me or e-mail me. Makes more sense.

Thanks for your help!

Of course, isn't that always the way? I think you are probably best off with having the friend tell him to email or call you anyway.

If he calls or emails, you will know that he has made the first move which based on your history with him sounds like a good plan!!

I agree! :thumbsup2 I was just happy that he extended the invite to contact him, but I've never really been one to chase men. My dad always taught my sister & I that the men should do the pursuing. ;)
