I have no idea what page we are on, but I bet we were buried.

Just stopping by before bed.

I'll bet you're right John (but I don't look at the page list either). Surprising to see only a couple posts today, but nice to not have to try to get caught up! :)

A couple of years ago my sister and I were waiting for a table at Good Stuff and called our other sister in AZ while we were sitting outside. We told her to go to the computer and check us out, which she did. What a hoot! When I got home I went back in the archives and found our picture and downloaded it.

Technology is so much fun!!!!
We had lunch today at Good Stuff. (Three of us split a Monte Cristo sandwich with split pea soup, and a barbecue chicken wrapp with french fries. Apple cake and carrot cake for dessert -- YUM!)

Leslie had her procedure today - from present indications, she will be down for a few days.

Anyone been on the Western before? We have booked most of the stuff we need to but are undecided on Key West and Grand Kayman. Been to Key West before, but that was prior to having children.

We did the Western when Tyler was 4 and I think we had the most fun on Key West of all the ports....or at least Tyler remembers the most about Key West than the other ports. We did the Conch Train, which was a tour of the island, and also included admission to either the Shipwreck Museum or the Aquarium and then we just paid the admission for the other so we went to both. A year later, Tyler still talks about the stuff he saw in the Shipwreck Museum and loves to tell people a bit about the history of the shipwreck divers. And he still talks about the chickens running all over Key West (they really irritated the heck out of him)! Anyway, that's what we did and he had a blast.

Oh...and in Grand Cayman, we did a little tour which included the Sea Turtle Farm. The sea turtle stop was the only part we liked about that tour. Tyler loved getting to touch the turtles! :) Great for little kids!

Grand Cayman is probably one of my favorite islands - lot less poverty than other islands, great duty-free shopping, GREAT beaches. We've done the Western (not on DCL - mostly RCCL) and love it. Lisa

Grand Cayman was our favorite also...for all the same reasons you listed. In some of the other ports I came back to the ship feeling almost depressed!

ahh finally Friday!

Last night was taco night and then John had his playoff games...they were the winner bracket so they had to wait for the loser to play and then they either had to win one to win the championship or if they lost, had to play again. Luckily he calls at 9:30 saying they won and he hit 3 bombs!

I had been swimming with the girls and they were in bed asleep and he got home with a HUGE trophy....I thought he won the batting title...(he has three, but none in recent years)....so they let him take it home as MVP....he was excited...we went swimming and jus hung out with each other until after midnight....it was so nice to have a few moments without the girls hanging on us too.

tonight we'll probably swim and cookout and maybe a movie night.....!

Morning everyone!

Is anyone planning to go to a Harry Potter midnight release party tonight? We are - going to the B & N by our house so I can get my copy. Though I have alot planned this weekend so probably won't get to finish for a few days it so I will be avoiding the internet (and any network that shows news) until I finish it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

no HP for me.....I need to read the other books....I am only where the movies are too....

I am trying to find a nice new recipe for tonight....we always seem to do the same old things...I would like a dip or appetizer we can have for the movie and then maybe something to grill for dinner? IDK.

My sister is going to Texas for the weekend. She is excited and can't wait to be off work....I have a couple secret shops I may sign up for if they increase the commission a little bit.

I need to start budgeting to pay off this cruise...! Did they postpone the passport things again? I thought I saw that on the main board.

We are going to a Muggles party (i.e. GK's and I) at the local Lake Almanor bookstore. The bookstore will treat is to such delights as Hagrid's eyballs, cauldron cakes and other libations of unearthly goodies, borrowing recipes from the imaginative tradition of the books.

Our days are filled with boating, playing at the lake (swimming to the dock), tennis, golf, bowling and trips to the Pine Shack for the best ice cream milk shakes you have ever tasted!!

Off to tennis lessons!! TTFN!!

Hi Everyone,

When I logged in it said the last time I was on was July 6th. It did not feel that long but I guess it was. I am getting ready to go back to Boston in a couple of weeks and this will be our last trip before school starts. I am actually looking forward to school starting. Sorry to hear about everyone's problems and my family is wishing everyone else's prayers and pixie dust.

Goodnight. It's raining again and there are floods down south - where we are heading tomorrow!! What a summer we have had, and the schools have broken up today too.

We are going to see John's mum again - looks like this time she will go into a care home for a couple of week's respite care. Hopefully they can build her up again.

happy friday night....

we are grilling steak......some nice green beans with bacon and vidila onions and some potatoes....we are all about to hit the pool.....yipppeee!!!

sounds good...i love to bbq.
It's hot here in california, but no pool at our house. Tays outside playing with the neighborhood kids. If only one of them had a pool....
Tomorrow we're off to see Hairspray. She's excited as zac ephron and amanda bynes are in the cast. I'm just happy we agree on a movie!
Have a good friday and a good weekend.
BTW..I didn't notice an increase in the price of the trip yet...keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen. I have a payment schedule, it'll throw it all off! hahahaha

YUMMY!!!!!!! Your meal sounds awesome! :goodvibes I'm so jealous! I love a good grilled steak. :cloud9: It was a great Friday night for me, hanging out with a bunch of friends at my favorite Mexican restaurant/bar. Beautiful weather, so we sat out on their deck for a while, then a few of us went in to sit at the bar to watch the scenery (ummm...how can I say this so I don't get banned....by scenery, I mean very good looking men---no women work there). :yay: Like I said, my FAVORITE place! ;)

Sitting on my porch now, enjoying the last few bits of daylight. Probably should head in because the bugs will come out any minute now. However, it's pretty chilly, so no mosquitos, so I might just hang out on my porch until my laptop battery dies. Yup, this is my relaxation and study break. Final exams are approaching, so that's why you haven't seen me here much. I think my last exam is on August 17th, so after that, you'll see me here ALL THE TIME for about 3 weeks. I'll regain my title as "Queen of posting" for a short time before the next semester starts the day after Labor Day. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hi All!!! No time to post lately....just an update....mom is in ICU again. Low blood pressure, on a ventilator, not responding, heart, lungs, kidney issues, urinary track infection spread to blood throughout....really not doing well. I think she's just tired of fighting....she's been in the hospital six times in the past eight months and now is number seven.

I'm doing what I can to be there for her, but have some restraints....infectious wounds on both my legs. My doctor says at the first sign of a temperature....I have to go into the hospital....so I'm trying to beat it at home.

Poor John is completely beat up by everything going on....he's trying to be the strong one taking care of everyone and everything.

We had to put my mom's husband into a private care facility because he has brain damage and can't be left alone....it's costing us $100/per day. Last week we just spent $500 to spay the dog....her stitches come out next week. John said which cruise do we have to cancel to pay for all of this???? I said NEITHER...I will make it happen....we need to go no matter what....we need it bad!!!!

So, no cancelling vacations....just gotta get over this bump in the road right now. Miss chatting with you all....hope to be back regularly again soon.
