I won't let this thread go on to page 2!!! Holly, you must be busy!:)
:rotfl2: Yup, very busy! I actually had some work to do while at work today. :rotfl: Well, not much real work, but the file cabinet that was ordered for me came in today, so we had to rearrange my cubicle to make it fit, then put all the files in it. One of my attorneys keeps all his files in his office, on the floor along 3 walls, because he says if he can't see them, he won't remember that he has work to do in each of them. :scared1: I keep most of the files for my other attorney, but with no file cabinet, they were piled all over (always in danger of avalanche), stuffed in boxes shoved under my desk, and crammed in every nook & cranny I could find. Horrible trying to find anything. Terrible way to work. So after being there 2 1/2 years, they finally got a cabinet for me. I was so excited, it felt like Christmas!

Now I'm having a quick dinner, catching up here, and have to head for class soon.

Does anyone have any idea what a good price for airfare is? I found a one way from LAX to Sarasota (smaller airport but wouldn't have to drive home from Tampa or Orlanda) and it's $219 per person....is that good or could I possibly get it cheaper?

Hi V-I just booked our airfare for LAX - MCO on American and it was $205, so I would say that's a good rate. Don't wait long, in the few days before I booked AA went up by $5, Delta by $8 and United by $55!

Jackie has been spotted! She is quite the organizer, eh? Has a roll call and excursions list for all who posted already up and running.

Yup, that's Jackie....she took charge of our cruise too.....we're sorry to lose her. I was really looking forward to meeting her and finding out all about Ireland. Well now you can!
:cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Well, to graduate from law school, you take 90 credits. Each class is usually 3 credits, but some are 2. Each semester (15 weeks long) I take 2 or 3 classes. Each credit is $907.00. PLUS the cost books for each class can be around $200.00. The average law school debt is $100,000.00 upon graduation. :scared:  :sad2: Very scary numbers.

Leslie was a little below that total for all of her degrees. Luckily stumbled on a program with her previous employer that paid off all of her student loans if she signed a two year contract. Quite the easy decision! Thank you State of Arizona!

Off in a few hours to Eden(?), Utah for the Dana Family Reunion.

Heard it is by Snow Basin so imagine it will be beautiful.

Checked weather there for the weekend - highs of 88, lows of 51. The 88 degrees sounds wonderful, about 25 degrees cooler than Phoenix right now. The low is a little scary though. Our blood is too thin for those temps, we might need to take our winter jackets! Wait, what's a winter jacket?! For that matter, what's a jacket?!

How cool! What great luck to come across a program like that. :thumbsup2

hmm....I just don't know about the airline stuff...you know I have researched many other dicounts (hotels, etc) I could spout them off all the time but airfare??!!

Sounds like our weather this week, only we're not that warm. 70s all week and around 50 for the lows overnight. Nice to turn off the air conditioner for a bit and get some fresh air. I'm quite claustrophobic, so I'm loving the chance to have the windows open!

Have a great time at the reunion!

Wow . . . I think when I graduated law school (1987 - 20 years ago, and so hard to believe that) I had about $5,000 in debt, and thought that was a lot. When my son starts med school in the fall, he will accumulate about $50,000 a year for four years . . .

I like the photo as your avatar too Holly - Nice!

Welcome to the club V.

No, too busy getting ready to leave for vacation Saturday . . .

Mowing grass, cleaning the car up, packing, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah . . .

Oden is coming here to Portland. Poor kid, hope the local hooligans we call Blazers don't corrupt him. We have had drug busts, drunk/drugged driving, spousal abuse and raising dogs for fighting charges over the past few years from that bunch. :sad2: I miss the days of Clyde Drexler, he was a gentleman.

Sorry everybody, after re-reading my venting above, I realize I made myself sound like the world's worst mom.

A friend reminded me that we did indeed go through almost the exact same behavior when Tyler was 3. So I gave him a tiny dose of melatonin about 1/2 hour before bedtime for just 2 or 3 weeks (not every night, since he's at his dad's a couple nights a week too), and then his sleep pattern was back on track and from then on, when we do our bedtime routine he would just go to sleep right after. And because he was getting good sleep instead of screaming for hours, fighting sleep, his behavior turned completely around too because he wasn't tired all the time. Now, I can tell he's always tired, but denies it. It seems he might be too tired to fall asleep and it just keeps snowballing, so I suspect his behavior is from lack of sleep. However, that doesn't explain why he's "a perfect kid" at his dad's (or so he says). He does the same bedtime ritual over there too: a couple bedtime books on the couch, then a few bedtime songs together in bed.

Whatever...I'm done boring you all with this topic. ;) Sorry!

Not a problem!! Vent away. What are DISer's for if we cannot listen?
Sounds like you have a good handle on the situation and an idea of how to proceed.

I found that with my sons the terrible twos were nothing compared to the odd numbered ages.

He is 5. He did this when he was 3--yup, odd numbered ages.

Hang in there, before you know it he will be on his own and this will be a distant memory.

Hi everyone . . . been too busy for a couple of days, and we just passed a major milestone on my previous thread last night . . . 75,000 posts (I got #75,001! rats!).

Anyway, just wanted to check in, and let you know our son arrived in London today. He is taking it easy and resting after being on a flight that was delayed 3 hours due to weather in the US.

He arrived at Gatwick, and took train and subway safely to his Hostel in London. We are going to try and speak over skype tomorrow. He is also going to go to Wimbledon on Friday.

.....2am local time....London bomb defussed near Picadilly Circle....specifically the theatre district in the West End on Haymarket St. in the city of Westminster. WOW it's a good thing they got it before it went off....but that's a little too close for comfort since Alex just arrived in London earlier that day. Glad he arrived safely and hope he stays safe and has a great time.
:thumbsup2 :) :thumbsup2
