Jeepers creepers, the folks on my other cruise meet thread are pretty wild! A few of them are gathered right now in New Orleans and somebody posted a pic on the thread with one of the women showing her undergarments! That should be an interesting group I'll be cruising with in November!

Let's hope no one gives one of the women some beads!

We went to the wine tasting festival today and had a great time....here's a few pics of the wineries.

They had live music....the stage is up the hill in the back.

It was a beautiful day out....sunny but not too hot with a beautiful breeze blowing....wine was pouring....music was playing....food and shopping....I bought a great cruise dress. We all had a great time.

We are staying at Hyatt too hopefully! we are trying to find a way to cut the cost of the room

We are also staying at the Hyatt. I got the AAA rate.
I plan on reducing the cost with a hyatt gift cert that I'm earning through MyPoints. I'm trying to earn enough points for the 75.00 certificate. I also signed DH up so he can earn points as well. Hope to get him enough for the $50.00 cert.

John, what's it like in your community tonight....since they found Jessie Davis' body and arrested the boyfriend cop. We'll see how the details unfold, but I knew he did it and that she was not going to be found alive. Imagine, as horrific a crime as it was, he left his own two year old son home alone from late Wed night untill early Fri morning....how cold hearted and he was a police officer....so incredibly hard to believe.

As soon as I saw that on the news, I thought of everyone in your community. Unfortunately, with the story as it stood there was such a slim chance that it would be a happy ending. So sorry that hope didn't come through.

It is so sad to hear of everyone enjoying the warm summer weather as we sit here in the PNW with spring still upon us. We will warm up one day to mid 70's and then drop to 60 and rainy the next day. I am ready for summer for sure!!!

We are heading to Vashon Island tomorrow. Jaide is going to sleep away camp for the first time this summer and it is the open house tomorrow. We get to go and tour the camp, meet the counselors and do activities. The camp is on the Puget Sound and it is supposed to be a very low tide so there will some great beachcombing to be done as well.

Monday is the last day of school for us, finally!!!

Hi Kaylee, it sounds like you're in a time warp behind the rest of us....school ended here about two weeks ago and it is definitely Summer now....warm enough for beaches and swimming.....just sunny days.

How long will Jaide be away for??? Being on the Puget Sound, it must be spectacularly beautiful and I'm sure she is going to love it. You are going to miss her though.

As this thing unfolds, it is so hard to understand what could have possibly happened, and how a man could then leave his child there alone. How unbelievable!

I talked to several people in the last couple days who knew him - all said he seemed like a good guy despite all the stuff that was coming out. He played football for our High School, and helped coach here. How someone who could put on that kind of a face could commit such a heinous act is unbelievable.

When Amy was out helping in the search, and they had just gotten there, they stopped a man who looked like a policeman to ask if they would need their driver's license to register because they had left their purses in the car. The man pulled up his glasses, and said, "I just need you to help us find Jessie, I'm her dad" as tears welled in his eyes.

Out of almost 2.000 people there, he is the one they stopped.

Night all. Been a long day, and we followed the news all evening as this tragedy unfolded, seeing the places and some of the faces we all know on a national level, and seeing some of the stupid comments and questions made by the media.

I'm so glad you got your cat 6. I was just checking the DCL site on a whim.

Weekend is going good. No big plans for us. Our neighborhood held the annual garage sale, but the assocation only gave us a weeks notice, so I didn't really have time to get things together so we didn't participate this year.

I'm still having fun with planning. I am now working on our flights. I must say I am kind of confused about how to go about it. I would rather not go through a TA, but I have never booked on my own before. I do have it narrowed down to two direct flights out of LAX, one is United and the other is Delta. Do you think it is in my best interest to book early? See how confused I am. Any input anybody has would be great.

I would say yes, definitely book early....I think you'll get the best prices and availabilities. At least it seems to make sense to me. I only have air and car rentals left to do. I've got my hotel booked on both ends already. I'll be working on these during the next couple of weeks.

....Then I have to wait until the end of July and I can book Palo and spas for my halloween cruise....I'm trying to get both cruises done at the same time. I just hate waiting, I want to do it all right away....well, it teaches me to have patience.

I see that you live in Santa Barbara. We're staying for a week in Rodondo Beach after cruise and were planning a day trip up to your area....we wanted to look for some local wineries and do some tastings. Any recommendations?

I actually let the wine shop be run by others last night (Friday) as DD was in a dance show (major "let go of control" for me!)

We didn't get home until after 11 as the show went till 9:30 and then we had a fantastic dinner at a place in Walnut Creek called WC Yacht Club.

Great evening, but tiring too.

Couldn't find helpers for tonight, so I missed a wedding that DD and DH went to of DH's Nephew. They had a nice time.
