And since I've lost 13 pounds (maybe more, don't know, don't have a scale so I only get weighed at the doctor's office),
CONGRATT!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2  So great! You should feel very proud - it is so hard. I keep trying and losing the battle...maybe tomorrow!:rotfl:

Well, I have to admit, I haven't done anything to lose. I haven't had time to go workout since school started 2 1/2 months ago. It's just since I went on the pill that the weight started coming off. Long story short, the pill was not for the typical use, but to try to regulate my hormones a bit because of all kinds of wacky things going on with my body, so since I immediately started losing weight, my doc suspects my weight gain could be hormonally related due to changes after pregnancy plus pre-menopausal symptoms (thanks to my mom's genes: she started at age 36).

Whatever the reason, I'm happy about it! It's not a ton of weight, but I've never lost any weight before, so I'm thrilled! I never had to lose weight until gaining it all after pregnancy. And then, nothing I did would make me lose. Gee.....imagine what would happen if I could make time to workout!

I wonder if anybody knows anyone who has started using that new diet pill, Alli. The news is mostly about the gross side effects (take an extra change of pants to work, just in case! ).

I wonder if the weight loss is worth the side effects........

Oh...after re-reading my post, I guess I should clarify: birth control pills in my situation.

Well, from what I heard about Alli on the news, those side effects only happen when you cheat and eat fatty foods. It's sort of supposed to be extra motivation to limit the amount of fat you eat (staying within the recommend range of fat grams per day).

My sister took them - not over the counter but she got them in Europe. She didn't lose weight but was able to eat more fatty foods and not gain weight. She found it useful for when she was traveling on business and needed to eat food that wasn't ideal for a diet. Anyway, she did have to go to bathroom quite frequently but never had any issues. I was telling my husband about the pill and my 4 year old overhead us. He suddenly said "pooping pill??? what is a pooping pill?" And then kept saying it over and over laughing. I was so nervous he was going to say something to my sister next time he saw her!:rotfl:

Just wanted to pop in and say that we are not going to be doing the Panama cruise due to school issues.
Because of that, we had to give up an SPH room. Apparently somebody already got it - I hope it was a DIS'er!
The good news is we just booked the 07/07/07 Magic cruise, and will be doing the Med in two weeks. :cool1: The bad news is since we just booked it, we lose out on all the pre-trip anticipation and planning.
We are looking forward to our Med cruise as it will be very educational for the kids - I hope we have some fun too!:rotfl2:
Have a great time on your cruise - we will be living your experience through your words.

has anybody decided where they're staying the night before the big cruise?

I wanted to stay at the mco Hyatt, but dang it's expensive....so found a motel in cape canaveral- Fawlty Towers- that supposedly includes transportation from the airport and to the port.....for half of what the hyatt is!

We're staying at the Hyatt, with the AAA rate. It's also not so bad when you're sharing room costs! :thumbsup2

So sorry you won't be cruising with us, but how exciting to be doing the Med in just a few weeks! I have friends getting off the ship the day you get on. Have a wonderful time.

Well, I've been fighting computer issues...spent most of today (this TiggersPal's help) running antivirus and spyware scans...problem still isn't solved, but at least I can function for a few minutes without pulling out my hair.

Hope everyone is have a good weekend and everyone who's dealing with health issues are feeling better too! I'm still waiting on some test results...hate the 'in limbo' feeling :guilty:

Almost time to throw a steak on the grill!

Greetings everyone!

We have had some trauma at our house for the last month, so I have not been on. There is just no way I could ever catch up, so I hope everyone is happy and healthy!

We booked our flight to Orlando last week, so this is starting to seem real!

FYI, if any of you have been following national news about the missing pregnant woman in Ohio, that is happening in our community. The alleged father is one of our assistant middle school football coaches. Sounds like a big MESS, and a terrible tragedy until she is found safe.:sad2:

John, We just heard the latest news! I am sorry for your community.

Yeah, I didn't get those jeans either (don't tell Amy I said that) . . .

She is from here too - never met her, but know most of her extended family, who are involved in local politics here.

Your problem is that Sophia did get those genes!!

We now have 3 cats living at our house! The lady at work was given 2 4year old sister cats, she kept one and gave one to her daughter. Well hers was scared of her dogs, she wouldn't eat, drink, go to the bathroom, or ***e around. She cried all day. So I agreed to take her at least for awhile. Well she is here but not liking my other cats but hopefully she will soon! She had to have patches shaved because she was matted and looks funny.

Ok the point of telling you this is we are thinking of keeping her, instead of just fostering her. Her name right now is Mary and it doesn't suit her. So, what is a name for a white, with gray tail, gold eyed cat. I wanted Minnie but DH said that is insulting to her :lmao:

We are staying at Hyatt too hopefully! we are trying to find a way to cut the cost of the room

Just got home from a busy day. I spent most of the day driving to and from my best friend's house out of town. Just had to see her new house she moved herself and her 3 kids into last weekend. Cute place! Then came back to town just in time to pick Tyler up from his dad's. Had dinner at home and headed to the baseball game (Lansing Lugnuts vs. Fort Wayne Wizards). Tyler had a blast playing in the playground at the back of the stadium, which also has a few inflatable climbing things. Lots of fun! He had absolutely no interest in the baseball game, just all the extras. Especially the fireworks afterwards. I knew he wouldn't actually sit and watch a game, so I didn't buy seats, just lawn tickets which are super cheap, so it worked great! :thumbsup2 Right before that, he had been at the beach all day with his dad, so he was one tired kid by 10:30 when we got home. Fell asleep on the 10 minute drive home, so asleep that I couldn't wake him to get him inside. 5-yr olds are way too heavy to be carried, especially into a loft bed, so he has to sleep in my bed. But I'll just sleep in his bed and that works fine.

I hope everybody else had a great day too!

Been up chatting with my friends on our old cruise thread since it seemed like everyone was away tonight on this one.

Sophia likes the playground much more than the ballgame too Holly.

I'm right there with Sophia and Tyler. I couldn't even tell you who won because my game watching efforts consisted of scanning the crowd, looking for Big Lug (the mascot) so I could say, "Look Tyler, there he is!" ;) I just take him to games to get him some exposure to different sports because his dad doesn't take him to any games at all. :sad2: But he does take him fishing once every week and took him camping one time (with another camping trip planned in 2 weeks), so things balance out. :thumbsup2

Jeepers creepers, the folks on my other cruise meet thread are pretty wild! A few of them are gathered right now in New Orleans and somebody posted a pic on the thread with one of the women showing her undergarments! :scared1: That should be an interesting group I'll be cruising with in November! :rotfl:
