"... we will be enhancing these two voyages to make them even more special for our guests considering this recent increase and hope that you will be onboard for all the fun and festivities.
Mmmm, just had a thought.
I wonder if
DCL remember what happened when Cunard upset their passengers on the QM2 in January 2006?
If they absolutely refuse to budge on this issue, perhaps we could arrange our own 'special' event on board? I'm not suggesting anything too extreme, maybe something fun but which attracts publicity to the fact DCL have treated their loyal customers so shabbily. Could even be a charity event, for a Panama childrens charity perhaps.
Now there's another thought (this is getting scary

).
How about if, instead of having to lose face, admit their guilt and issue all of us with a refund of this overcharge, DCL were to make a donation to a Panama childrens charity in the sum of the original tonnage fee?
Anyone from DCL PR reading this? (And if you're not, you ought to be.)
I'm suggesting a face-saving way out for you here.
We'd want proof, of course. Not that we don't trust you ......
