Just spoke to Royal Caribbean....no fee change at all. They explained that the new policy did not cause any increase in their passenger fees.
Great so far just DCL has increased fees.

Very interesting.
I will make that the subject of my next e-mail to DCL.

Any bets on their reply? I'll guess something along the lines of, "We cannot comment on the policies of another company".

Well that is interesting, and needs to be passed on th DCL in our emails too! Thanks for doing this research.

"We look forward to welcoming you aboard the Disney Magic for this extremely popular itinerary next year."

Translation: If you're not happy, then cancel. We have people waiting to take your stateroom and we'll charge them more than you were paying.

Or am I being too cynical here? ;)

I don't know about TA to TA but you could send an e-mail to webmaster@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and see what they say. That is how I knew what to do. They sent a link to a form and I filled it out it was very easy.
Bummer....I filled out the form, submitted it, and then my fellow cruiser Cindy told me DU says they don't take transfers from other TAs out of professional courtesy. That's nice of them, but I feel dumb for not noticing or even thinking of that. Oops! Lack of sleep strikes again. :guilty:

Just a request from me-- can someone PM me the email address(es) to which we're sending emails for this issue?

I'm writing my email tonight- all cannons ready to fire!

The more I read about this situation, the more irritated and upset I get!!!

me as well....

I mean, do they really think they pulled the wool over our eyes.....(all of them)? I mean, come on, it's pretty insulting on how stupid DCL thinks we are. I hope they read the two PC meets threads.....

"... we will be enhancing these two voyages to make them even more special for our guests considering this recent increase and hope that you will be onboard for all the fun and festivities.

Mmmm, just had a thought. :scratchin
I wonder if DCL remember what happened when Cunard upset their passengers on the QM2 in January 2006?

If they absolutely refuse to budge on this issue, perhaps we could arrange our own 'special' event on board? I'm not suggesting anything too extreme, maybe something fun but which attracts publicity to the fact DCL have treated their loyal customers so shabbily. Could even be a charity event, for a Panama childrens charity perhaps.

Now there's another thought (this is getting scary :scared: ).
How about if, instead of having to lose face, admit their guilt and issue all of us with a refund of this overcharge, DCL were to make a donation to a Panama childrens charity in the sum of the original tonnage fee?

Anyone from DCL PR reading this? (And if you're not, you ought to be.)
I'm suggesting a face-saving way out for you here.
We'd want proof, of course. Not that we don't trust you ......:rolleyes1

Holly - transfering res from one TA to another.....your TA now needs to fax in a letter (on company letterhead) from owner/mgr stating that they are releasing their hold on your reservation back to DCL (fax to IC). Deposit needs to be down, but res can not be paid in full. Once DCL releases their hold on your res, you then submit the transfer form that DU has on their website and they take over your res and apply what ever deals they have going.......I just did this earlier this week. I know have a $400 obc as well, and my pals (in a cat 6) have $600.
Thank you! That helps a lot. :goodvibes

Ah yes, the infamous mutiny on Cunard! I never heard of mutiny on a cruise ship before that happened.

Who else is soooo glad it's Friday!

John wants steak for his birthday dinner...so, he has to grill it. I am picking up the pirate cake after work and some pirate plates and goodies from the party store.

I don't think I posted this yet...but Samantha is in SO MUCH TROUBLE. She decided - in the middle of the night - to get up and bake a cake for daddy. I heard this commotion going on in the kitchen to find a dozen eggs, milk, cake mix, frosting, beaters, spoons, all on the floor. I guess I should feel happy she can follow directions on a box.

Have been busy the last couple of days, and not on here or caught up. I just got this email though, and am sharing it - if it already has been shared, sorry. Don't think I feel much better with this response though . . .
John, I got the exact same response (word for word) this morning from Joseph. I guess he did a massive response at one time, rather than even take the time to try to personally reply to each e-mail. :sad2: Not nice.

OH, don't punish her please! That's so sweet and thoughtful of her! Just shows how much she loves her daddy! Makes my heart melt!

Well, we'll see what happens. I can't wait to see what other cruise lines are saying. I did include the RCL infomation. Egg on someones face.
Whats funny is they know we'll still go. I mean it's not the ship employees fault this is happening, and there is no way I can say to my daughter, we're not going. So I think disney might be using that and the fact that they are sold out to help their "oh well" attitude about it. There are people waiting in line, who won't even notice the increase because it will included in their total.

Good luck to all....
Steph

So was "Joseph" trying to say that in the past, DCL just didn't charge the passengers the canal transit fee? DCL just paid the approximately $200,000.00 fee without passing it on to passengers? There's no way that happened. Or did I just interpret his e-mail incorrectly?

Am I the only one who didn't hear about the Cunard mutiny??? When did this happen, and WHAT happened???
