Can't wait to see pics of the new shop Karen, when you have time. Get pics of the water too. So glad it's going great! Wish we could be there for a NOCAL DIS meet. Would love to see the place in person and all of you DISers as well!!!
 :hippie:

Deb,

When we set a date, I'll be sure to send you and John the same wine that we will have so that you can toast with us!!!

Karen

Ok, I realize I am here all by myself....bring in Karen's song here....but I am so sad looking at my sig line:sad2: Before it was Ok, since I had this past trip planned and looking forward to, but now nothing....I think I need to come up with a trip excuse between now and next May. I am thinking about the first week in December since I love that time at WDW. The problem is, convincing DH.....any suggestions?! :lmao:

Kaylee,

Now that DD is in Jr. High we have a more limited travel schedule, but we will be on a DCL cruise November 10th to 17th and in WDW from the 17th to the 23rd.

FYI DH got Chef's table at V & A for the 20th!!!!

Karen

Karen...you will have to tell us all how the AKV really are! Did you buy more points there?? We are close to buying there as well, but I don't think I can rationalize spending that much for points, when I can get resale cheaper....but those villas and designs look so great.

So, is the shop opening going great?!

Kaylee,

Yes, we did get more points! We are really looking forward to it!!

The shop opening went wonderfully last weekend. Last night (Thursday) we had a great crowd too with the farmer's market in Benicia going on. Tonight was a bit quiter, but still good. I had expected the weekend to be quite with Memorial Day holidays. The traffic going out of town (towards Tahoe) WAS INSANE!!!

Karen

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in ages. Haven't even been lurking. DH and I just got back from our DCL land/sea last week. Our next DCL cruise will be the 9/29/07 Eastern. I am sure that I will be following this thread more closely after our next cruise. I really need to get off of dial up to speed my computer up. I am such a procrastinater. We are definitely still going on the PC repo and looking forward to it.:woohoo:

Donna

Well it's lovely to see you!!! Great having a cruise so soon to look forward to.

Karen

So sorry we will just miss you Karen.:sad1:

I think I would really like V&A, but John just wouldn't, so that is that!!! I will need to find someone else to go with!

So glad the opening weekend went so well. Are you closing Monday? You probably could do with the break now.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND everybody!!!!! It's the first official weekend to kick off the summer...and I LOVE summertime! Beaches, barbeques, boating and drive in movies...fun, fun, fun!!!

Marilyn, do you celebrate Memorial Day???

We have an appointment this morning to take Angel to the vet for a puppy wellness visit and shots. Then we're running the usual errands to the stores this afternoon. We're doing our family barbeque on Sunday so that everyone can spend time on their own on Monday.

The weather has been great here, 80 degrees and sunny...I hope it holds out all weekend.

Wishing everyone a fun and wonderful weekend to share with their loved ones!

Karen, that is the nicest thing ever....so sweet of you...I will be happy to toast to all of you and will be thinking of you and waiting for the day that we can board the ship and get a hug. :cutie:

Hi Deb,

Still catching up from working non-stop for almost 2 weeks! I hope to be caught up soon!:thumbsup2

I am so sorry for your teen troubles, and I am also sorry that I don't have any insight as we are just at the beginning of some interesting issues ourselves.:rolleyes1

Oh no....hope it's nothing too serious!

There are always people in our lives with "issues". Doesn't seem to matter how much "everything" that they already have, they just need MOREl.

So true....and so hard to understand because there are so many people who have so much less and it's important to always be thankful for anything that you have.

I think that your handling of the situation was perfect, and that he is very lucky to have you both close enough that he feels comfortable enough to come to you instead of going "elsewhere" and probably scaring his folks to death.

Thanks. We told him he can stay over here any time he feels that he needs a break from home. His parents agreed to that, so we hope it will help him.

Best of luck with it all and Happy Birthday again to John!!:cheer2:

Thank you....but not my John's birthday. In fact, I'm not sure which John's birthday it is!?! Can the real John, please speak up!!! :rolleyes1 :upsidedow :rolleyes1

Karen

PS...I love that we look like Christmas when we post together!

pirate: pirate: pirate:

Deb, I am so glad it was not your mom as well.....

Me too....I'm not ready for that yet!

Wish you were at the Beach with us!!

Me too....me too!!!!! Sandi and the boys are my beachmates, John hates the sand. We talked about our first beach outing for the season and she said she has classes for work during the first week of June, but right after that we'll be there. I can't wait. I want to go a lot this summer. So I'll let you know what date we're doing it and maybe we could share another day together if you're going to be there too.

Take care and as far as the Teens go.......well........well......I may be arrested if I say what I am thinking. I am so strict with my kids and we are so lucky that I haven't had one that has revolted....I guess if I keep taking them on 1-2-3 DCL's a year....they have to love me:love:

I'm thinking the same thing you're thinking...if they were my kids...but they just don't do that today...they get punished. John and I are both strict with them when they stay with us and we NEVER have a problem with them.....and we're taking them on a halloween DCL trip this year...maybe that's why they love us!!!!

Hi guys...from Bethany Beach!! I went to the Liquor store here and asked for this and the owner told me....."never heard of that one" .... remember, they call this part of the country "slower, lower, Delaware!!"

I bought 2 bottles at home to bring with me and forgot them!!

Oh well.....enjoy your weekend anyway with the family at your favorite place in the world and my favorite place after DCL. Have fun!!!:cool2: :goodvibes :cool2:

Great news V on Samantha's graduation next year!! As the song says, my bags are packed and ready to go for our Samantha's graduation!!

I will be leaving in a few hours to fly to San Diego and am reflecting on how fast the time has gone. One minute they are tiny babies and in the blink of an eye, there are grown and ready to be on their own.

I guess I am in a nostalgic mood this morning as we head toward another chapter in our lives.

Sigh........

How bittersweet Noel...this one will be the hardest because it's your baby....but on the other hand, you can now breathe a sigh of relief for your major accomplishment....you raised them all and they all did good, so you must have done something very right! Be proud and take pics to post for us all to see. Congratulations to you and John and to Samantha! :cloud9:

Well I had seeded toast and marmalade! I was going to have cereal but there was not enough milk!

I like the toast and marmalade much better than the cereal anyway!

One year from today and we will be leaving the ship and going our separate ways.:sad2: If we go to DL perhaps we will see folk around!

We will be off our ship and staying in LA....we'll be exploring DL and other sights to see. At least it won't be a complete let down when we leave the ship because we have other fun things planned. I'm sure we'll coordinate on board to meet up at DL with anyone who will be there after cruise....just so we can extend our fun a little longer with our new friends before we have to say goodbye.

Will we then be able to keep in touch on this thread after cruise? I'll miss you all if I can't.

We don't celebrate Memorial Day, but the day is always the same as our Spring Bank Holiday, so we are all on holiday too!!! The weather is not very promising, but we don't usually do anything special anyway. 2 of our 3 children and their families are away - one near Paris with trips to DLP planned(and I am gutted I won't be there for the grandchildren's first Disney experience!), and the other at the in-laws caravan in the Lake District.

We have just been out for a lovely coffee and fresh home made scone! Yum. :) We will be going for a walk this afternoon if it doesn't rain.

Karen, that is the nicest thing ever....so sweet of you...I will be happy to toast to all of you and will be thinking of you and waiting for the day that we can board the ship and get a hug. :cutie:

I so want to be there!:sad1: Let me know when you will all be meeting and we will toast you too - as long as it isn't in the middle of our night!!!:rotfl:

I think the Transatlantic crossing just ending today and yesterday being the 1 year from ours ending I have already begun to feel sad - if you know what I mean!!!:rotfl2: I think if we can meet up after the cruise somewhere it will help that bad feeling!!

I am sure we are all going to meet some people who we really enjoy being with too. I am sure this thread will continue for some time after the cruise. I am also sure some of you from in the US will cruise together again too.

Hello Donna. I just read your post to me on the other thread and then found you here too. Great. Let's stay connected.
Jan :earsgirl:

Hi Jan, I will be mostly posting on the other thread until that cruise is over. I just cannot keep up!

Donna . . .

Had you posted before? Forgot we had someone from Cleveland . . .

You wouldn't happen to be going to Towncrier's cookout on Sunday would you?

I posted way back at the beginning of the thread and somewhere after that. Who knows where with all of these pages? I didn't know anything about Towncrier's cookout. I just can't keep up. And I spend way too much time on the DIS.:goodvibes

morning all!!
John is working today so I think I am going to take Samantha to get a haircut and then do some shopping....I would like to get an inexpensive outside table and chairs to last us through the summer. We haven't purchased any outdoor furniture since putting in the pool - we haven't found anything we really like yet!

I also need to take water to the pool store.....!

Holy Holly....batman. Now I feel old!:rotfl:
:lmao: :rotfl2: Oh, it's OK!!!! Just remember, age is just a number! Words of advice from my mom. When I pointed out to her a very cute 27 year old (10 years younger than me) I had been "hanging around with" for a short period of time, that's when she told me those wonderful words! Then she continued on to tell my my future stepdad is only 25 years old. :headache: :rolleyes1 She was kidding about the stepdad part, but the young man in question has been after her like a little puppy for a couple years and is completely starry eyed over her. :scared: They date regularly and he his parents have even gotten to know her quite well. I'm embarrassed at what his parents must think! My mom is probably older than they are (she's 57)! But everybody thinks she looks 40 and acts 35.

The folks from my Sept. '06 cruise still post occasionally on our meet thread from before the cruise, so I see no reason why we here won't do the same, especially with how chatty we all are. :thumbsup2

Rainy weekend here. Supposed to rain until Monday. So much for putting up Tyler's little pool.

It's just one of those little cheapy things, but he had so much fun with it last summer! Oh well....he has all summer to play in it, so waiting an extra week won't kill him. Plus, I'm not sure I could do it without another adult anyway because it's really heavy. In fact, it was too heavy for me to try to drag into the garage for winter storage, so friends suggested after I emptied it, to just cover it with a tarp on the ground all winter. So hopefully it isn't damaged. I suppose we'll soon find out! If so, it's cheap enough to replace, so no big deal. In fact, replacing it would probably be easier than cleaning the old one anyway. Hmmmmm......that might be the way to go after all! Gee, I love brainstorming with myself. :rotfl2:
