A follow-up email from Terry:

I don't normally post or belong to any posting places. I will forward this story to Ashley's school and my church, East Bay Fellowship and I will sent it to my friends and share it with my Bible study. I pray for the mom that lost Jarrett. I've seen memorials posted to viddler. She may want to consider posting a video, if not at viddler, maybe youtube. It's a story that can reach a lot of people.

Thanks for passing it on. :)

Love,

Terry

Really cool!!!

We just got an e-mail that Vanessa (our hopeful exchange student) has been accepted by Fairfax County Public Schools!! Now, just the principal of Westfield HS has to accept her. The paperwork was forwarded yesterday to him.

I know the poor principal has had his plate way overloaded the last few weeks and I hope this does not make him turn her down for any reason.

I am also worried about Vanessa and her family......the high school she will attend has been on the news worldwide......I wonder if they will make that connection......if not, should I tell the family.....

It really is an awesome school......very highly rated....just very big (4,000 kids). The school is 6 years old and has already had an addition added that added 30 classrooms.....(900 kids).

Oh well, hopefully everything will work out!!

We're home and all is well. The surgery went smoothly. Easy to take tubes out, a bit harder than putting them in. He just had a liquid sendative and gas, no IV, so when Wilson did wake up he was in pain. He got a shot of moraphine in his hinnie and calmed down a bit. He still is saying he has a bit of pain. I think it might just be discomfort, so hard to tell with kids.

I'm hoping this is the last of surgery for a while. 3 sets of ear tubes (& yes he had his adnoids out too the 2nd time) and one surgery to remove them. That's enough!

I'm also not looking forward to the bill. Being self employeed we buy our own coverage, pay $1100.00 per month and *each* of us have $1500 annual deductibles and then insurance coverages 70%. I got a letter last week telling me that the surgery center cost alone is $1700 out of pocket, not to mention what the surgeon or anesthesia costs! I figure this will be close to $5K. Man that's a cruise in off season for us, cat 4. Oh well, not this summer :sad2:

We're going to enjoy our caroons now :happytv:

Glad to hear Wilson did so well.

WOW!! I think that is our biggest worry as we get older, the cost of health insurance. It just seems so unfair that health insurance costs so darn much if you are self employed.

Are you calling me a baby????

I remember listening to my friends sisters' music (they were the "older" ones) and that IS where I was introduced to the Beatles.

I think for now I will take baby as a compliment.

Now you know how I feel! She's been calling me "the baby" for a long time! I finally got all my older siblings to stop calling me that when I hit 45~!!:woohoo: But one thing I will say - she means it in the BEST way possible!:rolleyes1

Good Evening Everyone!!! Please check the roll call thread and see if I got you in there!!! I think I have, if I am missing you please PM me...Trying to find everyone's info when they post it on the boards is becoming a bit daunting as we seem to be adding more and more pages a day that we did before (watch out EB thread!!) So if I missed you in the thread, SORRY!!! Just PM me and you will be on the next update!!

Welcome!

I believe JHalkias DD - Sophie will be 8 at cruise time as will Savannah -Kim's DD....(if not, they are close to it right?)

I also have another DD who will be 3 and probably in the club with your nephew as they group 3-4 years together. :)

Can this day be over already? My word...nothing is going right today.

I am not sure how fast I can find a class. I am so upset about this whole situation. Paying another $3K really does not set well with either DH or myself!!

Noel...so sorry to read about all of those problems. Hopefully meeting with each will bring about a great outcome. I can't even imagine how frustrated you or your daughter are. Politics in schools can be sooo annoying. I hope everything works out great for her!

Samantha is going make appointments to speak to the both the head of the department and Dean. The Dean's response to Sam's email was pretty off target and didn't even address any of the points she made. If you read my earlier post which detailed her email, she didn't even read the email properly as Sam has been forced to withdraw or take a failing grade at this point.

We shall see what happens from there
.
That's probably the nest thing she can do right now...hopefully it will all work out for her.

glad to hear everything went well.....and WOW, I can't believe what you have to pay for that! Samantha had tubes put in at 18 months...and have long since fallen out, and it was at a surgery center but it was $0, not even a co-pay. I couldn't imagine $5k!! :grouphug:

I hope it all works out for you guys. One step closer:woohoo: My opinion would be to not tell them. All that has gone on doesn't really have anything to do with the school itself or academics there. If they ask, you could certainly talk about it, but I wouldn't make a point of bringing it up. I am sure there are other opinions out there....

Insurance is crazy these days....as a doctor I see it on both sides; we need to pay more to get less protection as an individual and the doctors/etc get paid less. Where is all that money going? We have a similar plan to yours but ours only costs 400.00 thankfully.

Welcome aboard!

My daughters will be 9 and 6 at the time of sailing. I am hoping with less kids on board they will have even more fun and hopefully more character interaction!

So...it is not just me?! I had one of those mornings and am hoping that my afternoon will be much better! V...you are much closer to the end than me though, I still have 5 hours left:sad1:

On a happy note, Perla's mom called me this am to tell me that the remedy I gave her worked within 20 minutes and she was able to go back to the party and dance and have fun until 5 am!!!! I was so excited to hear that I was able to help and that she was able to celebrate her big day.

I think I agree with you....no need for the family to worry needlessly!

It is 3:26 here on the East Coast and the weather is so lovely. I know I have posted this link before, but it is so pretty there today......if you click this link after dark East Coast.....then you will see black as it is a live CAM!!

Well they will be in the same club then. I just wanted there to be enough kids for it to be fun. We've taken them to kids clubs before and they usually don't want us to pick them up because their friends are still there. I'm soooo excited and now that I found this forum, I know I'm going to drive my husband crazy!
