It was, and is gorgeous here today again. I get to sit out on the deck and DIS (finally), and we are grilling out for the first time. We saw Sesame Street Live (OK, but I have been doing this for too long - novelty has way worn off), then we went to the conclusion of our local Arts fair at our High School (pretty cool), and when we got home I did some outside painting and Sophia and I took the dog for a walk to our neighborhood park.

Must say, a nearly perfect day.

Glad you have perfect weather.....so do we! Today is the warmest yet--we hit 80! Spent most of the day outside. First we went to the Children's Garden at Michigan State University. Here's a link if anybody wants to see: http://4hgarden.msu.edu/tour/overview.html. I have a couple pics below, but nothing is blooming yet, of course, so it doesn't look nice like it will next month.

Sounds like you had a perfect day....except for feeling badly again...You have been sick a lot lately.....

Tyler is so cute....I just want to pick him up and hug hug hug him!!

We are going to see it on Broadway this summer (August) going to see Mary Poppins on the same trip.

This sounds like so much fun. Gretchen has been begging to go see Wicked. When are you going? We get back from the MED (fly into JFK) on Friday the 10th and then Thursday the 16th (I think) we head for Blacksburg for Daniel to start school....If I take even 1 more day off...my work will be creamed. Maybe I should just quit.....really been thinking about that this week. Let me know when your tickets are for....

Perfect day, for sure weather wise. Right now, I have 30 teenagers on my back porch with the youth minister from church. It is still warm and sunny here!! Supposed to be the same Monday and Tuesday.....

Looks like lots of fun Holly! It's actually cold here today, and raining too. Off to take DS5 to a birthday party!!!
Sorry about the cold and rainy weather. What a bummer.....but I'll bet the birthday party was fun! :goodvibes

Yup, it sure was a perfect day, despite feeling absolutely miserable. But Dayquil and Mountain Dew helped me get through the day. Until recently, I hadn't been sick in about a year and a half, so I guess I'm just getting my share all at once. I suppose I'm due....and I'm glad it's happening now, before school starts back up in a couple of weeks.

Tyler is so cute....I just want to pick him up and hug hug hug him!!
Thanks, he is a cutie! I actually hug him TOO much (at least that's Tyler's opinion) because he's finally hit that stage where he says, "Mom, would you stop hugging me?" and squirms away. :rotfl2: Cracks me up! So now I live for those spontaneous hugs and kisses and "I love you"s whenever the mood strikes him.

Sorry if I'm boring everybody with my pictures today, but I can't help it because we just had so much fun! It was so exciting to finally be able to play outside all day yesterday and today!

This is really funny! Tyler was so proud of his little tree, he wanted a picture of it. Well, you can barely see it in the picture (he has his hand resting on top of it---he was sort of patting it), so I probably should call it a branch with a couple roots! :rotfl2:

We are arriving on the 15th (Wednesday), staying until Sunday the 19th - of August. They have a direct flight from our regional airport into LaGuardia. We are meeting some friends there to see the shows, and take Sophia to see New York- Statue of Liberty, FAO, American Girl Store, etc.

You're all going to have so much fun! I haven't been to NYC since 1988 when I went to Spain with the spanish club as a senior in high school. We had an 8 hour layover at JFK, so we did a bus tour of the whole city, getting out to walk around at a bunch of great spots. Lots of fun! Just a taste of a very few highlights of the city, but I've always wanted to go spend a few days or a week there ever since. The opportunity just hasn't come up yet.

Well, Desperate Housewives is done, I read a bit of my book, so now I'm headed to sleep. My finger finally stopped throbbing today, so it's on the mend. Now I just have to kick this recent cold. Sleep's the best remedy! :thumbsup2 Goodnight everybody!

This sounds like so much fun....if I were to tell Gretchen ... she would be so mad!!:headache: :headache: :headache:

Remind myself: Oh yes, we will have been cruising in the Med for 11 days...guess she is not to deprived!!

Plus, this reminds me...I want to do one fun thing a month with Vanessa, when she arrives.....this would be perfect for one of the months....trip to NYC to see shows....must investigate this!!

To tell the truth: I had forgotten all about Vanessa. I have not been sleeping at all and my work is so backed up. I think I must be feeling a little better. I paid my bills tonight and paid off the MED Cruise!! Vanessa still needs to be accepted into Westfield High School.....after she finds out where she will go to school in the states....her parents may not want her to come. I know this school has been on the news all around the world.....

On Sunday morning at 3am, we can start making our excursions. My DH thinks I am crazy, but I will be up making the reservations.....they are selling out fast!!

I love to post pictues!! I love to look at everyone else pictures. Those pictures of Annie with her hair short made me so happy!! I love to be able to look at my kids on the computer!! Isn't that funny?? I will go back to the post, just to see it again!!

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one! ;) I love looking at everybody else's pictures too because it just makes us all so much more familiar with each other. It really helps connect names with faces so when I read posts, I can picture the person. That will make it easier for us to recognize each other when we all finally meet. But me posting Tyler's pics doesn't help since he's not coming on this cruise.......but he's too darn cute not to post pics! :rotfl:

Speaking of Tyler and cruising, I almost told him today about our upcoming November cruise because he mentioned, out of the blue, how he just loves Disney cruises and misses being on the ship so much. I managed to keep my mouth shut. I just want to wait until I've paid in full......just to be on the safe side in case something else comes up financially where I'd have to cancel that cruise. I wouldn't even want to imagine his disappointment of cancelling a Disney cruise when he's been begging to go back since we went last Sept. :scared:

OK.....this time I'm really headed to sleep!

We'll be at Disneyland on Sunday, too.

Woody

We were surprised that even though the park seemed crowded we walked on to most of the rides we did. We didn't get there until 9:30 and left around 4. We actually spent most of our time there today looking around at the extra stuff (signs, fountains, statues, etc.) since we are signed up for MouseAdventure next weekend and have no idea what it will be like. But don't want to embarass ourselves by coming in last.

We have also been pretty amazed at Planet Earth on Discovery HD. Now that is Sophia and I - Amy can watch some of it, but not too much. She has been glued to the news this week.

We are loving Plan Earth on HD! Amazing footage!!

Haven't seen Babel, haven't really been interested in seeing it either. But last night we saw "Lady in the Water", the latest from M. Night Shyamalan. It was really good and also very different from what we expected. Not sure if it really would be good for kids to see, even though it is supposed to be a "bedtime" story, but it really was excellent.

I would definitely see it again!

Karen

We go to the movies almost every weekend and this was probably our favorite move for all of last year. Love the character driven nature of the story and how everyone seems like real people. (Ok and I'm from Bucks County where M.Night films all of his movies so thay always have a going home feel to them.) This was our top Christmas gift pick, we gave it to everyone we thought would like it.

As for the bedtime story references - it is definitely in the Brothers Grimm league and I think would scare most kids!

Peg and I took our young friend (13) to see her first sub-titled film today.
Avenue Montaigne was absolutely wonderful! Woody73, clynne and Surley...Victoria says "HI!"

We had a wonderful dinner Friday night. Chattered like magpies for three hours! Tori & Mark (endkaos) were just delightful, and seeing Cheri again was like meeting up with an old friend! Can't wait for the 'big' meet in 4 weeks!

We hit a milestone this weekend with Drew on his first solo ride without training wheels (in addition to loosing his first tooth a few days ago and registering for KINDERGARTEN!!!!).....
