on the repos are there any specialty things at the spa different than the other cruises? And the rainforest pass - worth it for a week? two weeks?

Just too darn busy to do anything but READ!

I am probably taking a vacation next week to work around the house - first one like that in almost two years. My list is a MILE long, and while we can park in the garage, it is sometimes not easy getting out of either car.

Amy working late tonight, and I have to suffer again when I take Sophia to the dance studio and hear all the gossipy moms chit chat. That place is like another one of my ideas of one of Dante's rings of hell.

Check in later tonight . . .

Braver man than my DH! If I can't get the girls to dance, they just don't go:rotfl2: Our dance studio is a zoo and you can barely walk around in there. I can't drop the girls off and come back because DD2 needs her shoes changed half way through and I need to help her get her. I usually sit up front with a few girlfriends and hide from the crowds of bitter gossipy moms! Have fun tonight John!

Holly, I think you are in need of a vacation!!!!!!!!! Then again, things usually happen in 3s, so the bronchitis, migraine and now the finger...you are done!:thumbsup2 hope it gets better soon.

I was thinking the same thing today.....about things coming in 3s and me having 3 yuckies in a row. Shouldn't be any bad stuff going on for a while now. :thumbsup2

Lucky for you it didn't leak! Glad it is fixed now. My furnace is gone, brrrrrr. So after my fun night of the garage door incident, the next 2 nights DD1 was up all night with a stomach thing and then Mon night and last night I was up all night trying to figure out where a burning smell was coming from. Thought about calling the fire department but it was 2am and figured they couldn't do much. Turns out that the fan on the furnace is kaput and it is burning the motor (or whatever it is). So, I turned shut down the power to it and will let DH deal with it when he comes home today. Myself, as soon as I get home I am going into bed, watching Grey's Anatomy and October Road and sleeping! Why is it all this stuff always happens when I am home alone...and it happens in the middle of the night?!
I hope your daughter feels better soon and your husband can fix the furnace! At least the furnace problem didn't happen in the middle of winter.

I would also love to do some yard work this weekend and clean out the garage...but that is a month long project I am sure. How many people have a 2 car garage that even a matchbox car wouldn't fit in? It is truly amazing the stuff we have accumulated. Not sure why we are holding on to half of it! But maybe I can find some sellable items in there as well...more money for Disney I say!

A 2 car garage?? V, we have a 2 car garage, a one car garage with an attached shop, a barn, and a wood shed that is 10X12. There is no wood in the wood shed and there is not room for a matchbox car in any of them! Dennis does keep everything. He keeps talking about e-bay, I keep talking about a very large dumpster! :rolleyes1

And we know that Amy will be busy helping the homeless, so not a lot of sympathy for you sitting in the warm dance studio! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: Hoe it was not too bad! ;)

Lisa, have you found a new pink outfit for your champagne girls picture...and new pink shoes and a bag too. Anybody shopping for cruise yet? We're almost at the one year date and then we can BOOK ALL OF OUR RESSIES. That makes me happy. :goodvibes

Ohhh...I saw the cutiest pink blazer in a boutique here in New Orleans today - maybe I will go back tomorrow to get it! :cool1: Maybe just a little shopping...Lisa

That made me laugh. Shawn complains about this all the time. He takes Jenna on Monday nights, Kayla on Wednesday nights, and Jenna back on Saturday's. He says he hasn't seen a single male in the studio in over a year! The gossip is usually pretty entertaining though popcorn::

I am SICK...Ryan came home today with a note that two parents of a classmate tragically died today. And now my neighbor informed me that they were getting a divorce (which I knew) and he shot his wife and then himself...IN FRONT OF THE KIDS!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot understand this. I'm sick, just sick. These poor kids...is Monday not enough?! We live in an affluent area, not that these things have monetary boundries, but I guess I just didn't expect to hear something like this in our suburb.

I remember being one of the gossipy chit chatty moms when youngest DD took ballet, tap and gymnastics. We never talked about anything malicious, it was more like what preschool is your child going to, where are the going to go to schoo, what kind of classes are they taking etc. Sometimes we would complain or brag about spouses, in-laws etc. Other times we would talk about where we were going on vacation, whose DH was on a business trip and who felt like they were raising their children by themselves with all the long hours or travel the hubbies were doing. Seems like a hundred years ago...

What a terrible, terrible tragedy!! I have never been able to understand why anyone would do such a terrible thing not only to themself but to anyone else. We have had two experiences with our family, one directly related, one not.

My DH's sister was close to the boy, Eli Polk, whose Mother, Susan Polk shot and killed his father. He stayed with them for quite awhile after her arrest until some bizarre behavior issues surfaced and the family asked him to leave.

My DH's niece's husband shot himself in front of her and the kids. He had a drug problem and decided to "punish" her for threatening to leave him. It took many, many years for the family to heal.

Lisa:

Sounds just gorgeous!! We are having dinner at Buck's tonight with nephew and his family.

Have you had ever had dinner at Antoine's? I remember wanting to have dinner there when I read the book by Frances Parkinson Keyes though it was a few years later when I finally did.

I also loved breakfast at Brennans.

Can you tell I am getting hungry?

How awful for those poor little kids. Ever since my little boy has been around, and being so lucky to experience the love a parent has for a child, my heart always breaks when I hear of something tragic happening to children.

That is so sad. I hope those children will be able to recover. That is just horrible that he did it in front of them also.

Well, tonight was no fun at all I can tell you . . .

What is it with you women and your outfits? When I took my son to baseball, no problem, he wore his uniform - old, new, or ratty. He would even go with me to eat after practice with it on (Sophia will NOT go anywhere with her dance clothes on).

Tonight starts out with Sophia not wanting to wear her ballet outfit - not comfy daddy! Wants to wear jeans - won't even wear shorts. After a bunch of arguing where she tells me she has done this before, I resign, and give up. Off to dance.

We get there, she is fine, puts on her ballet slippers, and goes to her room. I sit as far away from gossipy moms as I can, and prepare to get out my iPod to listen to the Time Traveler's Wife, but have to wait. They do a lot of classes here with disabled kids, and there is a class of Down's kids that goes into a classroom I am sitting outside. I have learned that if I turn on the iPod too soon, they will all come over to me and want to see it, and then not go into class, so I wait. (They do a super job with these kids here).

In two minutes, Sophia is out of the classroom, buries her head in my shoulder sobbing. What's the problem? Sub teacher who says she has to wear dance clothes if she wants to dance. Now, my little girl is the very sensitive type, that if anyone in authority (outside of her mom, dad, or grandma) corrects her, it sends her into a tizzy. She also abhors change. All the coaxing in the world will not get her into the outfit in her bag, and she wants to leave. Once again, I resign, and she RUNS out the door past her class to remain unseen escaping. I follow.

I call Amy and tell her this is the last episode of dance class from the black lagoon that I am attending, EVER! We are going to run an errand, and meet her for dinner (I got her voice mail). She calls me about 20 minutes later, and decides to call the dance studio . . . (Sophia wants to quit ballet over this).

Well, for the last 25 minutes, they have been searching for lost Sophia who was going out to change into her dance clothes and has disappeared. They did not realize I was there and we left (yeah, I see how you can miss the only 250lb male in the joint), and have frantically been trying to call home to see if they can find her. I did not think of saying we were leaving - and frankly did not want to discuss the matter right then with Miss Rachel, as my daughter ran out the door.

Long story short, this is NOW Amy's territory - I am done with dance!

I cannot even imagine what is going to take place once hormones start kicking in. God help me . . .

You took the words right out of Amy's mouth. Neighborhood garage sale next week while I am on vacation - can I do it????

Oh noooooo . . . not bad at all . . . .:rolleyes1
