On the 11 night Southern cruise, we did a back roads jeep excursion on Antiqua....DH said the only thing wrong with it was that he didn't get to drive. I'm sure he'll go for this!!!! It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun!!! So count us in too!!!!

Sending positive vibes your way!

OK, anybody up for another (those of us from 12/9 and anyone who wants to join) jeep convoy tour? Mind if we horn in V? We had such a GREAT time in Cozumel I would love to do something like this again.

OK John, you started something here....do we need a list??? You have four jeeps already....V and John, You and Amy, Holly and Cindy and Me and John....except for Holly and Cindy, there's a John in every jeep...won't be hard to forget names.

I just called DH at work and asked him if he wanted to do a jeep convoy tour on Aruba and he can drive....he's psyched....we're definitely doing it!!!

I can be the keeper of the list of the Aruba tour...who ever wants to go just pm me how many, etc. I will see if I can get us a discount on the rentals.

Ok folks asking for your help here.......for one reason or another I'm having a pretty bad day and could do with some good strong positive thoughts and pd please.
I know we don't know each other well yet, but I feel I can ask you that somehow.
Thanks

Looks like you were all having a great time. Love how Disney turns a potential bad situation into a good one! And lucky for you guys to have exclusive time with Chip and Dale!!! Thanks for sharing!

Boma question.....
I have only done the dinner. Is the breakfast good? I booked us for Mother's Day but am not sure if I will like it as much as dinner. Anyone tried it or heard anything about it?
We stayed at AKL in 2004 and had breakfast there. It was outstanding. We all enjoyed what we ate, which I can't remember but I remember it was very good.

Kaylee, those are great pics! So cute!

OK.....I'm a bit chattier today, but have lots of work to do, so I won't be here much. Feeling about 80% myself now! :woohoo: Woohoo! Slept in today.....sort of slept through my alarm for work....actually, shut it off when I heard it! :rotfl: That extra bit of sleep did wonders for me! But I'll still go to bed early again tonight so I can keep recovering. :thumbsup2
Glad to hear your finally feeling better. We were all worried about you!!!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
How is Calmom....are you out there Lisa? Haven't heard from you in a while, hope all is going OK.
Yes, where is Lisa (Calmom)? We haven't heard from her in a while! Hopefully she's doing something fun!!!

Sounds like fun-we're in!!!

We are not CC members and booked as such for this cruise, but I have booked a shortie before, so we will be members for then!!!

For those who have taken this kind of tour before, is this a really bad tour for people with motion sickness?

UKAngel- I hope things get better lots of :grouphug: coming you way

Good morning. Only a couple of pages to read this morning - about 6-8 minutes to catch up I think then Cheri!!!:lmao: Now that info will help me greatly.

It is a really lovely day today and is going to be for the rest of the week. In fact it is warmer than many places in the Med etc. We are going to the Canary Islands next Thursday for 2 weeks of late winter sun and I think it may just be warmer here!!!:confused3 Never mind, we will be on holiday and it won't rain there. (14 days away at an average of 10 pages a day will take me.......a long time to catch up!!!:rotfl2: )

Already my research has proved to be useful!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

YEAH! Too bad he's not 20 years older! ;)

Or 40 years older!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I guess she forgot there was an 'old fashioned way' of doing them! :rotfl:

This reminds me of a story about my aunt who went a step too far towards the 'old fashioned way' when technology failed her. While scrubing the kitchen floor, her hot water handle broke on the kitchen sink, so she proceeded to fill pots and pans with water and heat them on the stove to complete the job. When my mom went over later that day and my aunt was complaining about the problem, mom asked her why she didn't just get the hot water from the bathroom! <---this was the look on my aunt's face.
A true story....I was at a friend's house one day and asked for a cup of tea. She said, I'm sorry I can't make a cup of tea because my microwave is broken....but on top of her stove was a tea kettle!?!:confused3

Great ones!:rotfl:

Would the jeep convoy include a snorkeling stop?? Can I ride with someone? (I'll pay my share) Sounds like fun!!

Exactly! DH travels a lot, so it's me taking the phone calls, showing apartments (my least favorite job of all because half the time the people don't show up), doing all the paperwork. I really need to consider it is my job, but when you don't get a paycheck, that gets difficult sometimes.:rotfl: I'm pretty useless when it comes to maintenance, however. DBIL helps out when DH is out of town. DH showed me how to light the pilot light on a furnace yesterday, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. No plumbing, carpentry, or electrical skills here. :rolleyes1

We just sold our apartment complex :woohoo: It was the most stressful thing we have ever done. We had way too many drug related problems and tenant issues, it aged DH incredibly. Now, we just have a few houses with lease to own tenants and life is so much better. I know not all rentals are as bad as ours, but we learned a lot of lessons in owning it for 4 years.

fourmcds----thanks so much for posting that report!!! I think I've made up my mind to go ahead rent a jeep, tour around a bit and then hit a beach for the afternoon. That way both girls can come with us as most tours usually aren't for 5 and under.

did your girls like it when you did it before or did they get bored?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They were fine and fell asleep on the ride back.

I have pouring over "touring plans" for the island and the only rough and ragged spot is the off road adventure to the natural pool....which they recommed a 4x4 or horseback to. And then the climb getting down to the pool is rough and slippery on the rocks (so I have read).

I was thinking maybe we could all meet and get the jeeps first thing and then do what we kind of did before tour some spots until 1,2 or so and then everyone can kind of branch off on their own...I know we'd probably like to spend the afternoon at a beach and snorkeling or something. I don't know...we have lots of time to decide!! I'm sure we'll change our minds a zillion times before then!

Awhile back there was some talk of making a recipe book. Here's my contribution--it's not nearly as fancy as Noel's squid recipes:goodvibes , but it's really good and very versitile.

No-Sugar Banana Bran Muffins

3-4 mashed bananas (black ones!)
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
3 tbl. milk
1 cup All-bran cereal
1 cup flour (white or wheat)
1 & 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
cinnamon or other spice(s) to your liking

Mix bananas, egg, oil, milk and cereal together and let it sit for awhile to soften.
Mix together dry ingred. and add to wet ingred., barely mixing until combined.
Spray muffin pan w/cooking spray.
Bake at 350 for 15-18 min.
Makes about 1 doz. muffins

NOW the fun part: You can add almost anything to this.
  • I've added some yogurt to the wet ingred.--makes the muffins very moist.
  • I've added chopped apple, blueberries, raisins, chopped nuts, wheat germ, oatmeal (not all at the same time;) )
  • I've made them in mini muffin pans for kids--adults like them this way too, of course.
They're a little bit sweet, just right for breakfast and snacks IMHO.

If you try other variations, let us know!

PS If I have bananas that are almost black I just put them in the freezer (skins still on--I don't even put them in a container or baggie) and save them up until I have enough (or to have on hand for cooking). They look awful but when thawed they're just fine for baking.

I wonder how many CC members are on this cruise in total ---- I bet a ton!
We're CC members.....like you said, I bet there's a lot. I wonder what the CC gift on our cruise will be. I recall they got "specialized" ones on the last PC cruise, but I could be wrong.

For those who have taken this kind of tour before, is this a really bad tour for people with motion sickness?
I didn't think about that....that's a good question, does anyone know if the jeep tours are good or bad for those who are prone to motion sickness. One of my DS gets motion sick easily.
