Hi Everyone, I have just received a quote for this sailing. I have never cruised before and I really want to go with DCL. As you can see I am reserved for this Oct but I am thinking of changing my ressi. I am from Western Canada ( Alberta ) and my DH does not want to cruise so I will be going solo. Do you think this will be too long of a cruise for a first timer?
TIA for any advice. I did see on the first page that there are other solo cruisers.
Angie:)

Welcome Angie! This will be the first cruise for my Brother-in-law and we convienced him he'd be fine (and he's not a 'Disney" person)! We have a bunch of really nice people here, and several solo travelers,,,some of whom I've already met and KNOW they are fun! I actually started out as a solo, then found out two days after booking opened that my sister and her DH are coming along :cool1: Are you the Cat 6 we noticed that was available on the web site? This cruise has been sold out for some time (although I'm sure cabins will open up in Feb when final payment is due). Although, it just dawned on me that some TA's may have availability in a block of rooms they booked.

Noel.....all I can say is that really, really stinks!

HI PJ, I wondered if that was you on the first page. I would love to do both but it is not financially possible and I think that I will only do one cruise so the Panama one will be a "once in a lifetime trip"
Ibouncetoo-I did get a Cat 6 guarantee with Dreams unlimited, wait listed for 1st dining.
I am very much leaning to changing my ressi!:yay:

Good evening everyone! DH and I are feeling ill tonight. The baby was throwing up all weekend, and now I'm afraid we're getting it! I'm soooo tired.

Hope you ALL make a speedy recovery.

So.....I noticed a link to a trip report in you signature and went over to read it. I really enjoyed.....what there was of it! :rotfl2: I'd love to hear more about your family adventure. I absolutely could not resist sharing this picture with everyone over here, hope that's OK. Little Miss Olivia and her Minnie Mouse Safari ensemble:

What a precious baby!

Was somebody going to check on a group rate or block of rooms at the Hyatt? Or am I remembering that from an earlier cruise? I have a strong feeling my DBil will want to stay down by Port Canaveral and DSis will want to show him Animial Kingdom Lodge and I think I'd vote for Cocoa Beach because I want to meet Shirley! Heaven knows where we'll end up!

HEY! Doug & Carol....where have you kids been?!?!?!?

FYI to All,

We seem to have been very busy:sad2: with a project on the house, (new floor in the family room entrance area, the loss of a 13 year member of the family, our rotie , Peper,:sad1: and trying to get our cottage at the lake open and ready for summer just hasn't been much time for the DIS board. Things are starting to slow down,:thumbsup2 only have the cottage to finish up now. Hope all is well with you all and we will try to keep up now.

Doug & Carol :grouphug:

This is something I don't mind doing, if no one is already checking on it from this board. We'll be getting three rooms. This really is our best option since we're flying in from CA in the afternoon or early evening of the 9th. This is something we can discuss a little at the dis meet in a few weeks, if there isn't already someone in charge of it.

I've been wanting to meet Shirley too!

Hope you had a good workout. Don't push yourself too hard just yet.

I will be going tomorrow. I find it so hard to go back after a break.:confused3
It sure is hard to get started again! I ended up not going to the gym. Decided to get my back yard mowed. Took forever because the mower kept getting clogged and I'd have to re-start it. My arm almost couldn't pull the cord anymore to start the mower towards the end of the job. That was almost a workout in itself! :rotfl:

We're planning to hire a limo service to drive us to the Port (there are 9 of us)--but now I'm wondering if there are a lot of us staying at the Hyatt, if it might be cheaper per person to charter a bus!

Karin-Kaylee (fourmcds) has a list of people that filled up two hummerzines through happy limo, I belive. They only had 2 of those and each one took 20 people (plus a luggage van for each hummer). But I'm pretty sure she also had people beyond that like 20 more that needed a shuttle or a bus of some kind. Calmom (Lisa) had found a bus that she had posted but I haven't heard any other details on that one. Kaylee posted the names of the people who would be in the hummer (it was first come first served) and also the names of those who still need a "ride". When she's back from WDW I bet she can re-post that info.

Ran into a better deal on SD memory cards here in the Columbus, Ohio area. Cord Camera has 2 - 2Gig SD memory cards for $29.99 or 2 - 1Gig SD menory caqrds for $19.99. If anyone is interested I think you can order them from their on line store at "CordCamera.com". Believe tghat price is good for several more days.:thumbsup2

Doug
Great deal! I ended up getting the 2Gig $24.99 one at Best Buy after reading about it here. I suppose I could also check cordcamera.com to get more. My computer is SO slow because of all the years of pictures on it, I just have to get them all off! It's so slow, I'm reminded of the days when I had dial-up internet. I click on something, then can leave the room and do something else while waiting for the screen to load....and I'm not even online! Just too much stuff stored. I hope to take care of it tomorrow night. Too tired tonight.

So here I am at home again and finally calm enough to tell you all what happened. As you may remember, I went for a Fiji wrap on Sunday night. After the wonderful experience, I returned to my locker in the spa to discover over $700 in cash and change missing from my wallet. The casino security staff denied there were any problems with theft in the spa.

Much to my consternation, I discovered in conversation with the spa staff and regular customers that it seems that the keys work in more than one locker and that fact is know by regular spa members and employees. Obviously, this theft was committed by someone who knew this and used another key. Another woman lost about the same amount last week in the same locker room probably by the same method.

I made a police report but of course, I am now out the $700. Since this took place at a casino I go frequently, I know many of the staff and the regulars. I expected at least some sort of apology about what had happened but nothing was forthcoming. Needless to say, I am not sure if I am every returning to this spa.

Now back to my regularly scheduled life....
 How horrible! I'm so sorry this had to happen to you. Just awful. :sad2:

Hope this works. Just returned from Las Vegas and saw this swimsuit on the front of the catalog. Ordered it for our upcoming Western cruise in October. Hopefully it will still fit next May for Panama.

Way cute...jacket too. And with your pretty figure I'm sure it will fit you next May (that was directed to Leslie, of course :lmao: ).

Was the jacket also for sale?

Angie! Yes you should join. We even have a solo cruiser coming from Canada also (Penny). I think she's in the Toronto area. There are other Canadians on this cruise too....Carol and Doug come to mind right off.

We're a fun group...so you need to join the fun!!!

Tooth is gone, stopped at the grocery for yogurt, pudding, ginger ale and cottage cheese. Had a nice little happy pill and slept most of the afternoon. I can have 'real' food tomorrow and decided lasagna would make a nice softish meal for lunch. :thumbsup2 The oral surgeon though I was wacked when I started laughing as he was pulling the tooth. I told him (afterwards of course) that I was envisioning a champagne bottle being opened as he 'wiggled' the tooth and 'popped' it out! I guess I am a true Champagne Girl!

I hope your mouth is better soon!!!

Good evening everyone! DH and I are feeling ill tonight. The baby was throwing up all weekend, and now I'm afraid we're getting it! I'm soooo tired.

I'm sorry to hear that...hope you're all healthy soon. It so hard when the babies are sick...especially throwing up!! DS5 was up with vertigo (super dizzy) last night. He's gotten it about four times in the last few months. Wakes up dizzy and is that way for most of the day and then is fine in the evening. No fever, cold, or pain anywhere. So, now that this the fourth time, I think I need to make a call to the doctor!

Oh no! Poor all of you! :grouphug: Hang in there, take care of yourself and your family. Hope you're all over it quickly!
