Okay I'm giving up on catching up.

I was at Edith Macy Center, at a conference, with several other GS leaders from North Carolina.

Many of these woman had never been out of their county, let alone the state.

We signed up for a bus tour of NYC. The bus driver pointed out Chippendale's and the ladies wanted to stop and go in.

Well these quiet, shy southern ladies went wild!!!! Dollar bills were tucked in every nook and cranny.

We were kicked out when one of them wouldn't keep her hands off of one of the dancers. She was so worried that word would get back to council and they wouldn't let her be a leader.

We were back at the center and told her that it made the evening news.;) "Girl Scout leaders bounced from Chippendales." She almost died.

That is so funny.

Carol,

The baby is so cute. Congrats!

Well, I lied. I said I was giving up one catching up, but I keep finding myself going back to past posts to follow along.

I can't be a Champagne Girl (stupid sulfite allergy) but I could be the perfect Mascot.

Champagne Cork! :lmao:

Champagne cork - I love it!!!

Also, some good news. We are now the proud grandparents of a little girl. Lily Ann was born last night at 5:15 PM PDT. :cutie:  She weighed 9 lbs 1 oz and has a bunch of dark brown hair and blue eyes. Our first girl after 7 grandsons. Can't wait to see her!

Congratulations!!!!. I'm hoping our DD has a girl as well. She sounds like a cutie. Hugs and love to baby Lily. :grouphug:

My DS17 is going to be a HOKIE

He heard from VA Tech and was accepted on Sunday (e-mail has changed the whole college thing since I did this 30 years ago!!) We were in Balt/Wash airport when we got a call that the notices were online. We drove like "bats out of H**L" to get back home and we were both shaking so much it was hard to read the notice. So my first child is in the school of his dreams....Empty next has started at the Halterman Household!!

Boy gone are the days of the "fat good news college envelope versus the skinny bad news envelope."

Congrats to the new college man in town. Say goodbye to all your money. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Roger - will do!

Having lunch at Norway today with the Princesses too.

Last night we had dinner at Boma, and it was a Great dinner! I think Sophia had about 5 of those Zebra Domes for dessert, along with about 3 sccops of chocolate mousse. So far, not that crowded - I'll let you know how Epcot is. I think next week and the following week are the BIG Spring Break weeks. We may be lucky.

John...did you get to look at the new DVC units there? Are they giving out any pins like they did for Saratoga Springs? Just wondering. I love Boma and am thinking I might need to make a reservation for it for our May trip. How could I forget about that one!:scared1:

Thought I would share some pictures of Lily Ann.

How adorable...and all that hair?! :cutie: I bet you can't wait to get out there and hold her in person!
I have to ask....did Mom have bad heartburn during her pregnancy? It is an old wives tale that the more heartburn you have the more hair the baby has, so I always ask just for my own "study". (for me it proved true as DD1 was a bald toe head and I had no heartburn and DD2 had a thick head of hair and my heartburn was horrible near the end (went through 20 tums or so a day!)).

I can see the headline now.... Girl Scout Leaders Gone Wild! :lmao: :lmao: What a great story.

Terrible, BAD, gastric reflux type heartburn (last several months not daring to eat past 2pm): baldies...

Sorry to skew your data.

Carolyn

Me too, awful heartburn, right up to the moment of delivery and wispy haired babies all three!!!

ok, spill, us GS leaders need something to keep us going and going and going....

Oh, boy, I could sure share some stories. Of course, it would be from a different perspective since I am on the executive staff for Girl Scouts!:lmao:

Over the 10 years that I have been questioning this (started when I was studying midwifery) my results have been very crazy. I pretty much think that mythbusters could debunk the theory, but it is still something I always ask when I see a baby with lots of hair. I have a 5d old coming in today for his first visit and the mom had horrible heartburn, so I am curious to see if he has any hair!

Jackie, where do you get the little Disney ship at the bottom of your signature? It's pretty cute!

I stole it from my friend geffric! You can right click on it and copy it and then add it to your signature....easy as pie! It looks nice if you place it in your signature right above a count down ticker too!

HEY ARIZONA CRUISERS......

just sent out PM's to the 'Thieves' that live in the Valley of the Sun (that I know about) to say we are scheduling a DIS Dinner on Friday April 20th. If anyone else is interested (like nearby friends or Arizona lurkers), just PM me! Place and time to be determined once we get a look at the geography of the attendees.

OK....back to work for me....

Alright, will give into the temptation. Meet one of our gift to our daughter's for Christmas - - - Pumpkin and Macaroni

AWWWWW!! SO adorable! This has got to be one of the cutest pics in the world! Great names too!

Thanks for sharing. Would love to see some pictures. We are hoping to do a RCCL cruise next April (planning to surprise my mom for her 60th with us, dad, her best friends, DS, DBIL and DN), but from the sounds of your report, no cruise line can compare to DCL! Maybe I will rethink that cruise. Hmmm, would a 7d DCL in April and then the 15 d in May be too much DCL?! :lmao:
You can never have too much DCL! :rotfl: I know you mentioned RCCL, but if you'd be interested in some pics of Carnival Liberty just for comparison (and if you're REALLY bored), there's a link in my signature to a boring comparison report. Just to get a glance of the other side. Yup, I went over to the dark side, but am back to DCL.......JUST KIDDING! :lmao: Although nothing compares to Disney, I absolutely loved my cruise on the Liberty! :thumbsup2

Well, you can only see the AKL model units at SSR - they are busy remodeling. I did ask about it though. You can see a green fence where construction has begun - until then, they are renovating the 5th and 6th floor of the lodge into DVC units. I am really wondering why they are changing over a part of the existing hotel. Not enough traffic?:confused3

I don't know if we will get over to see the model or not. After looking at the pool, we decided we can wait for now. While we love Boma, the pool is OK, but no Stormalong Bay - and the slide is a bit lame now according to Sophia!:rotfl2:

We opened Epcot today, went to Soarin' wiated 20 minutes after getting FP's, then rode again with FP's, (after Amy and Sophia rode the boat ride through the greenhouse) got another FP for Soarin', then went to lunch at Norway with the Princesses (which was very busy), went back to ride Spaceship Earth, got yucky coke from around the World, then back to Soarin' again before heading home to swim, and go down the water slide, oh, about 15 more times.

Sophia and I just got shakes at Beaches and Cream, and we are showered up, and ready to hit extra Magic hours at AK tonight. We never liked the morning extra Magic Hours (who wants to get up early on vacation?), but really like the night-time ones!

Catch you all later!
