Also, some good news. We are now the proud grandparents of a little girl. Lily Ann was born last night at 5:15 PM PDT. :cutie:  She weighed 9 lbs 1 oz and has a bunch of dark brown hair and blue eyes. Our first girl after 7 grandsons. Can't wait to see her!
CONGRATS! Such a pretty name too! :cloud9:

Some more vacation photos - Hope I'm not boring you guys, but I am having fun. Probably won't hear much from me once we get to WDW - too much to do there!

Here is the "slide opening ceremony" in the morning - Sophia is right behind the CM with the "sword" . . .

Here is the view of the pool area, kid's play area, and Main building from outside our room

Here is Sophia getting her hair braided

Here is the finished product

Here is a shot of Dodgertown at the baseball game - there is literally NO shade there except under a few trees around the stadium

How about this kid's sundae at Shutters, the restaurant at VBR?

Just kidding . . . that thing is called a Tidal Wave Sundae, and is supposed to be for two - all THREE of us could not finish it. It was full of ice cream, sauces, bananas (gotta love that), brownies, and cookies!

looks like V fell into a champagne glass!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

well my hair isn't that red, but I am that pasty!
Love it!

I don't think I want to comment on any of this . . . not the logo, not V in the glass, not any of it. Just trying to get me in trouble, aren't you all . . . ?

BTW V . . . Did you get Amy's voicemail on your cell?

John - tell Sophia - WAY TO GO!! a huge hurtle (SP?) for her to jump over. :cheer2:

I still have to catch up on loads of pages....will try to touch base again later.

"hurdle" . . . but who checks spelling???:rotfl2:

My DS17 is going to be a HOKIE

He heard from VA Tech and was accepted on Sunday (e-mail has changed the whole college thing since I did this 30 years ago!!) We were in Balt/Wash airport when we got a call that the notices were online. We drove like "bats out of H**L" to get back home and we were both shaking so much it was hard to read the notice. So my first child is in the school of his dreams....Empty next has started at the Halterman Household!!

Congratulations!

You may recall Lbgraves who has posted here, and is a mod here, her DH is a Hokie.

I was wondering when you were going to post more pics. Looks like such a great place! I LOVE the sundae and how happy Sophia looks eating it! ;) Heck, I'd make that my whole meal if I were there.....YUMMY!

AHA!!! That's were the new Champagne Girls tag came from in Deb's signature!!

I knew it was new!!;)

Karen

You caught me!!! One minute Mandy and I were talking coffee then wine then champagne...and you know that "like minds" thing...and voila!....Mandy is a spark of inspiration and she came up with the idea and the logo, which is awesome!!!....I just jumped on the band wagon and started having some fun with it!!!

I really did start a list and I'm going to do logo badges for everyone and then I'll need to speak to the 'Powers That Be' and beg you and Noel for help...beg, beg...:chat: :love1: (the begging guy is gone!?!) and we'll see if we can possibly do a champagne tasing.
:dance3: :hippie:

HALLELUJAH...there is hot water!! I take a lovely long shower. How glorious!!

Thank goodness!
This part of the story reminded me of a live-aboard diving trip I made down in to the Gulf of CA in January. It was a "shakedown" cruise on a boat that was being remade into a diving boat, so the price was cheap. We were on board for 3 days and 2 nights--no hot water the entire time. Plus, it was the coldest water I'd ever been diving in (before and since). Someone figured out a system for us: after getting out of the ocean, go directly to one of the cold showers in your wetsuit. Because the ocean was so cold, the shower felt "warm". Rinse off as quickly as possible, run to your cabin, put on sweats and socks and jump into bed. Huddle under the covers until the numbness subsides. :lmao: It worked!

Once back at the condo, it is time to do what I always do when I visit, help her clean the place. You can imagine what it is like with five girls who claim they have no time to clean.
Noel

This reminds me of visiting my youngest sister's apartment when she was in college (the one in my picture below). I thought I'd be helpful and did some cleaning while she was at class one day. It was NOT appreciated! We laugh about that now! PS--her home is a showplace now, neat as a pin!

Thanks for sharing your weekend in such fun detail!

Maybe we can ask Karen to set something up if we all chipped in for some champagne? What do you think? Where were you thinking of holding the tasting?

Makes me shiver just thinking about how cold you must have felt!! I am such a wimp that I wear a wetsuit to snorkel in the Caribbean!!

I could tell the same story about my older DD whose comment after she got married was, "I can't believe I am turning into you" when referring to keeping her house clean.

Count me in!! (Big surprise there, I'm sure!):rolleyes1

Counted, of course!

I really like both white star and veuve, but my current favorite is Charles Heidsieck. We tried the "blue label" at Victoria and Albert's last December and have had it a couple times since! I will be bringing it into the shop when we move and have more space. It is really good!!:thumbsup2

I want to try all of these...:thumbsup2

Of course, I have many other favorites too!!:lmao: :thumbsup2

And I want to try all of these...:thumbsup2

Karen

And I'm going to need lots of your help putting together the champagne list.... :hippie:

here you go Deb....don't say I didn't warn you though....

A work in progress....

....and this is one I made earlier......

Thanks for sharing your pictures! Be sure to keep us posted on the progress of the mermaid (a particular favorite of mine!) (insert mermaid smilie here, if there was one)

Some of you have wondered what the white ties that we have included with the Fish Extenders are for so I thought I would post it so that everyone is aware.:thumbsup2 On the first cruise as well as the one I first made these for a couple extenders "walked" away from their fish. It was suggested that you take a tie and put it around the cord once it is over the fish. That way it can't walk off. When you are ready to take it down just cut the tie off. It was such a good suggestion we decided to just start adding the ties so that everyone would have one. Hope this clears up any confusion.:thumbsup2
