Since I have to get up for work in just over 6 hours, I suppose I better do the responsible thing and get to sleep! My boss (the 80 yr old one) will be back tomorrow after being out of town Wed, Thurs, & Fri of last week and my day will be absolutely miserable, trying to remind him what's going on in which file and who's coming to see him and why, and who he's supposed to call and why. Definitely means no DIS at work for me tomorrow....or even Tuesday. Maybe Wed. Then Thursday I only work a couple hours because I have to leave early to register for classes! WOOHOO!

Goodnight Everybody!

Thansk Karen, I love Ab Fab too, sweetie darling!;) My 'baby' rang me this afternoon from Berlin.....she'd spent most of the day at a concentration camp in the area, and they were all so moved by it they all called their Mums afterwards! Bless! I'm glad she's home on Tuesday!

Such a good girl, calling her Mum on Mother's Day!! Kudo's to her!!

Mine is 23rd!!! My brother's is the same as yours, 22nd. We always reckon Mum & dad got it right by the time my sister was born a few years later....she was born on June 14th!!!;):rotfl:

Maybe we'll have a 'very merry Un-Birthday party' next May on the ship for all us December/January birthdays eh?;) :goodvibes

That totally works for me!!!!:woohoo:

Let's do it!!:thumbsup2

Karen

You won't beleive this.....we were in WDW that week too for my Birthday.....I had my Birthday badge on too! The night of the 22nd we stayed at the Grand Floridian and Mark organised a day at the wonderful spa for me, then we had dinner at the V & A :) It was amazing!:cool1:

Just think...we could have celebrated together!

Great minds, with Great Birthdays!!!!

We did V & A a couple of days prior to my birthday when my Sister was still with us at WDW, her first visit! She only stayed 5 days, but she really had a great time. I did a spa day at Saratoga Springs on my B-day, great spa, but hard to get to. Then we had dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse as we were staying at the Beach Club and it was great!!

We'll have to plan better for our Un-birthday!

Karen

I resemble that remark....

just got back from dinner and watching AR, okay I should know better than to read the AR post...but glad not to have to stress for elimination rounds.

Congrats on Wilson's great race this weekend! Not much into racing at our home (2 DD's)...but NASCAR is huge around here since Kasey Kahne is from the town. My good friend graduated with him and was just at his cousin's wedding. It was funny because the town heard he would be there and a ton of people crashed it!

I'm back from Cali, did I miss anything?:lmao: had fun, DL was very nifty, why didn't they put a matterhorn in WDW?

and waiting for me at home--2 new puppies!! rat terriers to be exact. 2 boys, Hook and Tuck. I'll post pics as soon as I can get the little buggers to sit still. You were right Laura, I do need doggie ritalin!

as for the amazing race- I was bummed to see Romber go. Now I'm rooting for the BQ (so an all girl team can finally win) or Danny & Oswald (they crack me up!)

anything new I have to sign up for?

Welcome home and welcome back! Can't wait to see puppy pictures...:)
I kind of like the BQ as well, but I also like Terri & ??? the older married couple.

I wish more people would put kids first too. :goodvibes Life's too short.....just have fun and play pirates as often as possible! :rotfl:

(and go out for burritos occasionally....read between the lines here). :lmao:

I am always amazed when friends have gotten divorced how all of a sudden 1 of them becomes the world's most self centered person and forgets about the kids. Married they were both great (or so it seemed). Then there is the opposite, I have a friend now who put an additional "wing" on their home and each parent lives in one wing with the kids living in the main portion along with the kitchen/LR/FR etc. They are divorced but wanted to "stay together" for the kids. Great for you Holly for working togethr for Tyler.

And....did you get that call??????:confused3 ;)

This once happened to me at the old Nut Tree where a child poked my daughter in the eye. I just got the security people to deal with the child. We were very fortunate that the security guard witness the child poking my daughter in the eye for absolutely no reason. The child and their parents were asked to leave. I try never to have direct confrontations if possible and let security, if available handle the situation.

Noel,

I SO miss the Nut Tree! :sad2: I grew up going there and really miss going there and taking DD there so that she could experience it the way I did!:confused3

Karen

I agree completely!!! :thumbsup2

How horrible. I have been waiting to see a new one. Is it just me, or are shows just horrible about repeats these days? It seems like they show 1 new one, 3 repeats, 1 new one, etc. At least Amazing Race will be new.....

You can thank MARCH MADNESS for this every March!!!;)

Karen

No eliminations on Amazing Race. Good thing, too, because Uchenna and Joyce came in last and I like them. Got to get the kids to bed. I let them stay up to watch Amazing Race but it was delayed about 45 minutes because of sports this afternoon. Gotta go.

ARGG! Catching up on DIS while watching Amazing Race....darn time zone and TIVO! Guess I can concentrate more on the DIS boards now! Lisa

HEY! Guess what we played tonight?!

Tyler took this pic of me....sort of blurry. He was nice enough to let me have a turn wearing his Capt. Hook hat and hook. But ever since Grandma gave him a cool sword for Christmas, I'm always stuck playing with his old Captain Feathersword sword. No fair! (Ignore vaccuum hose on the right side of pic. Was in the process of cleaning today.)

Holly,

WAY CUTE!!!:cutie: pirate: :cutie: pirate: :cutie: pirate:

So fun to play dress up!! Enjoy it while you can, they grow up too fast!!:sad2:

It will be shown on Dancing With The Stars.pirate:

If you go here http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/atworldsend/
you can download a viral player that you can post on your blog or website that will show the premier as soon as it's available. You can apparently just watch it from this link as well.

Sorry if this has already been posted--I'm several pages behind right now!

I quickly discovered that I'm the minority in that aspect. I now think I'm the only one who doesn't have a particular sports interest. Oh well! I'll stick with bingo anyway! :rotfl:

I'm sure that we can find a sport that you like... (evil grin);)

This is the first I've heard of this!! And I have read every post!! (read Addicted to the DIS):lmao:

Thanks for sharing!

Supposed to be writing a Biology paper (yes it is almost 2am) but got sick of it so came here.

So much to catch up on.

DH work for Pilot Corporate Office and a computer programmer. I think he works mostly on credit card stuff!

RIght now I work at Super Target but don't like it. I am interviewing at the Disney Store in April!!!
I am going to school so I can design products for Disney. I will (hopefully)be working at Team Disney in WDW.
I would also love to be a disney historian but would have to move to CA (to far from family)
I will accept any job Disney throws at me (heck I worked in the Emporium for only $6.25 per hour :scared1: )

. If he ever gets stuck, I just tell him to count by 7's. Yes, it takes longer than knowing the multiplication fact off the top of his head (I'd say that would be preferable), BUT he knows why 7 times 8 equals 56. It's 7 groups of 8 or 8 groups of 7. In the long run, I'd have to think knowing why is better than just knowing. (Oh, and there are some fun songs with the facts in them for pure memorization. We have a schoolhouse rock one...you could play it at night while he's sleeping...:))

I think I need those songs....I have a mental block when multiplying 7, 8 and 9 together! I can recite hundreds of lines of Shakespeare that I learned 35 years ago...but still have that 'hole' in the multiplication tables.

We'll had a late dinner tonight as I had to watch "Grease: You're the One That I Want" and then spent 30 minutes on the phone calling in my votes (you get 200!) for my man AUSTIN before getting any dinner. Now I'm up late waiting for dinner to 'settle' before I trot off to bed.

Hey Jackie, I was surprised to see such a late post from you! You're not usually one of us night owls!;)

Hey everyone! I have 2 more days to catch up on, but we saw a movie last night we both really liked. Breach... It was great!!!

Today was build a bear -- yes, I know, Disney on Ice, and the parade... But it was great weather in SLC today!!!

Steve was on T.V. tonight. They asked him about the mayor of SLC while we were in the ladies room... You leave for a sec and look what happens!!

Those of you who said you would vote for my sweet cousin. You can vote now at www.Missusa.com. She is Miss Utah.

I have been looking at some of the pageant sites who are ranking the contestants, and can I say YIKES!! Some people are not very nice, and some are downright scary. I sent one to her brother that seems like a stalker. She was really depressed 2 days ago because there are 2 contestants who are really nice on camera but really not nice the rest of the time because they just know they are the winners. She is much better today and having a blast!

Anyway, night all!!

Kim

I voted....wishing her luck and hope she wins!

Is a word caller someone who can fairly accurately sound out the word, but has no idea what it means?? DD's kindergarten is using Hooked on Phonics, along with other things, but that's what the parents come in and work through with the kids every day. Some of them are obviously understanding, other are just sounding out and moving on...

Carolyn

Yes, that's what I meant. There's nothing wrong with HOP or any other phonics instruction program, in my opinion. Most kids need direct instruction in phonics in order to learn it. And most kids need direct instruction in comprehension, too. It's easy to assume when we hear a kid read well orally that they must be understanding what they're reading...sadly, not true in many cases.

Deb,

You're up late again!!:confused3

I am going through pictures from our trip to WDW last December from DD's digital camera. I also found all of the disks? from my husband's digital going back to our EB Panama Canal cruise!! Now I just have to find his camera so that I can load them in here!! Honestly... I call him the absent minded professor (not to his face, of course,) because he is just brilliant, amazingly smart man, but looses stuff or can't remember where he put stuff so easily!:rolleyes1

Garsh!:goofy:

Oh well, I guess he could be worse...;)

Hope you had a great day!:hippie:

Karen

My goodness, what a lot there was to catch up on today!!!!:scared1:

Well, we went to London yesterday, my sister and I and our Mum. had a lovely time all 3 of us and decided we really don't do it often enough.

If anyone goes to London and Harrods, do try their afternoon tea in the Georgian Restaurant. It's really wonderful! Felt extremely civilised to be drinking champagne and hvaing tea, sandwiches, scones & cakes :) I think Mum really liked her surprise so I'm please. :)

While we were in town we saw a great parade by the Irish Guards outside Buckingham palace too, as we drove by in our taxi. That was an added bonus! (We kidded Mum it was just in her honour of course!);)

I'm a little sad today so could do with a hug or 2 as my 'baby' is n't here to wish me a Happy Mother's day, for the first time ever. :sad2: She's still over in germany on her college trip, hopefully having a blast.

OK...back to catching up.......

    to you!
