Especially since the parties were supposed to be held on the 26th, weren't they??

. . . I did email DCL yesterday to share my displeasure about it not being disclosed in advance, I'll be curious to hear their response! Of course, it's not a deal breaker for us, just puts a kink in things!
I hope things work out for you.

I was just wondering what if any nick names people use ( or don't)

I tend to shorten names if there are short ones that are common, but I know that not all people like that.

I was always Nan when I was little. In junior high I thought it sounded TOOOO tomboyish (ok, that was me regardless of my name :rolleyes1 ) so in an effort to be more feminine I used my middle name (Robin) for all of junior high. Yup my yearbook reads Robin. In high school I moved back to my full first name, Nanette. That stuck until I started working for myself 1996, then I was too busy and went back to Nan been there ever since (although, DH would rather call me Nanette)

long winded as usual. You can just call me babbermouth. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I've gone by Corky since I was a child. DH calls me Cork.

I loved the show "Circus Boy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbRVjlWZWBI&NR=1

Julie -- I don't think anyone will notice. When we reached various ports on the 2005 PC cruise, performers would get on and off. They would board, perform for one or two nights, then disembark at the next port -- with dirty laundry. Only people like Ducky Williams stayed onboard for the entire cruise.

If my MIL would bring us clean clothes, I'd take up the offer. Sure beats doing laundry.

Woody

I think that we will be taking up her offer, and I might keep only a few days worth of clothes and then do laundry in the ship if necessary.

is reading and writing a requirement of K? I kind of wish our local schools would list requirements.

Samantha can write and spell her name, haley's, mine and John's (along with Mom and Dad) we work on phonics alot - she does not know how to scale her name down to size....it starts small and goes HUGE. Haley can tell you all the first letters of everyone in her class. She is no where near where Samantha was at that age. But everyone is different and she is the social one and the helper of her class. All the kids and teachers love her to death. Not funny - but funny, there are quite a few older than her working on potty training. I guess if they go and make it to the potty Haley is standing outside the door yelling "X, went whatever --- clap everyone!"

:rotfl2: :lmao:

most days when I pick her up...........

"MOM, MAX WNET POTTY, HE DID IT, HE GOT A STICKER, I CLAPPED!

That is soooo sweet, nothing like positive reinforcement for Max :thumbsup2

Three weeks today V.....and I had a very frustrating and stressful day.....I sooooooooo wanted a cigarette. I almost called Angie to tell her that I was going to the store on the corner. But I didn't go out and buy them so I didn't smoke. I just dealt with it. I'm still dealing with it tonight, but not as bad as earlier. I guess that's a good thing.

I'm at a place where I can't eat what I want, I can't smoke and I want to and recently I added the additional burden of being financially responsible for Ray and it's costing me an additional $1k/month......so I don't have extra money to spend like I used to........no eating, smoking, shopping.....all at the same time is very frustrating and stressful and it really hit me today and I just wanted a cigarette to destress over it all. As if that would make everything alright again. I know initially it would, but in the long term, it would not.

Thanks for asking V....I bet you didn't expect such a saga response.

Angie, any advice to make me stay honest throughout the day tomorrow too? I may be calling you soon.

My dad took a hypnotic course to stop smoking and he just made a year last week. The great thing is that he doesn´t want cigarettes anymore, so he doesn´t feel like he is sacrificing himself by not smoking.

well if someone will go along with me I have Johnny convinced to wear a grass skirt and a coconut bra~!

:scared1: :rotfl2:

I told you to buy a new one.

Aw, he is certainly a keeper

Hey You ! You ! hey Toots !

I have had so many nicknames it's hard to remember them. Spook, Mork (in VietNam), Killer, Mog, Den, Denny, Ace.....

Lol, you just reminded me of a funny story. When my brother was around 3 yo, he had a ton of nicknames. His name is Adrian and the list of nicknames that I remember is: Nan, Nansito, Gansito, Nancio, Venancio, Nancio Pistolas, Pistolaires, Bastolaires, Venado, Veterano, Osborni (his nanny saw the commercial for brandy Veterano Osborne, and since Veterano was one of his nicknames, she called him Osborni and poor guy answered :rotfl2: )

So long story short, my poor bro definetly had some sort of multiple personality disorder, and whenever he would met somebody, he would ask "what is your true name'", he thought everybody had a 1000 nicknames like him :rotfl2:

And, I found that the little blue arrow on the quote will take you back to the oringinal post of that quote.

Oh. A Pirate. WOW ! ROTFLOL. I CAN'T Add A pirate smilie. RATS !! ROTFLOL again.

You pirate: pirate: pirate:

Good Morning

My son forgot give me the letter from his school.

I opened it and and it said that kids are not allowing to leave for May's holiday!!

I phoned the head teacher this morning and she explained that it is from Scottish Executive states taht permission for family holidays in term time can only be granted.

In the letter mention:

1. where the family holiday is important to the wellbeing and cohesion of the family, following Serious or terminal illness, bereavement or other traumatic events.

2. Where evidence is provided by an employer that leave cannot be accommodated during school Holidays without significatn conseqences.

As the holiday falls during term time, and as your request does not comply with these circumastances, it is not possible to approve the leave.

My husband is leaving his job in March and start new job with two self employer as they are his friend, they set up a new business last year and they were so busy and don't have time off for their holiday.

Head teacher advise me to ask new job to write and explain that my husband cannot get off in Summer holiday because he is working through the summer to give two friend to have their holiday.

Oh dear why it never smooth problem. No way we cancel our holiday!! As everything had been paid for.

So I will tell my husband to see his friend and write a letter to head teacher about new job.

I feel a bit upset this morning.

But I hope it is sort out soon.

I wonder about your kids, are they allowing off school in USA?

Scottishwee35

As PP stated, it is a very educational trip going through the Panama Canal, and there is a nice museum in Acapulco, so definetly they can learn something form their trip.

I don´t think anyone will say anything at DD´s school. Of course she is only in kindergarten, but she has already missed like 20 days of school for sickness and a trip back in october and nothing has happened so far.

BTW we are in Mexico.

I read this so fast that I read "spare tire"!! All I could think of is "why is V taking a spare tire??"

OMG you weren´t the only one that read TIRE. I did too and thought that since they would probably drive to the port, she didn´t want to get a flat tire on the road and not have a spare.

Um...you are in High School Musical...don't you remember? :lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao:

You can call DCL and put in your request...she took ours for 8pm and was able to apply it to our linked tablemates!

How do we know who we are linked with? Noel was going to try and put several us together that had late dining. I haven't gotten caught up yet, on page 3118. Has anyone heard from her?

Way to go DEB!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: you are doing great:thumbsup2

Way to go!

Woody

Have a good night everyone:goodvibes

That is fine - I will take it on if no one has any objections. I can take all the orders with no problem and organize that. BUT is there anyone who knows how to set up polls so we can get some opinions on wording, colors, ect. and can do that part it would be great.

I would assume we would want to do all the info on it once final payment is due.

Krisann - I'm doing the bracelets and while I've done some research I'll start really working on this once final pymt date has come and gone.

 :cool1: alright, has anyone else gotten the cruise info packet yet? you know, the one with the pamphlet listing all ofthe excurscions and such? we just got ours today and I'm soooo excited now:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:

Okay, I came in late on this. What is a a DCL House Party?
I can try to book two and then change out my DH because he won't want to go and I do.

Carol

DCL House party is something through houseparty.com. DCL asked 1000 people to host a party this weekend promoting their cruises...and we were supposed to get lots of goodies.

I'm watching "The Biggest Loser" - and I did 2 miles on the bike while I watched. I would have gone longer except my feet were hurting and I started to lose feeling in my right foot.

Deb - once again...congrats on the progress you're doing w/ the non smoking. I know that's a tough thing to do....I'm proud of you!
  :woohoo: :yay:  :worship: :cool1:  :dance3: :cheer2:

Monica...:dance3: :cheer2: to you too!!!!:cheer2: :dance3: great job. Sorry I didn't get to meet you this past weekend, but we will meet very soon on the magic :cool1:

Monica, you're so sweet. And I'm so proud of you doing 2 miles on the bike. I only did 2 minutes on the treadmill today and that was a lot. Then I did some work at the ballet barre. I'm better today than I was yesterday. Thanks for your encouragement and support.....and right back at 'cha!!!

Great job Deb!!!!!!:cheer2: :dance3: Keep it up

 :cool1: alright, has anyone else gotten the cruise info packet yet? you know, the one with the pamphlet listing all ofthe excurscions and such? we just got ours today and I'm soooo excited now:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:

No fair!!! I want mine! Did it just come through the regular mail?

I have more bad news for everyone.....not going to be able to do any high teas as a group. I faxed the lists to DCL and they called me today. It seems that tea time is only at 3pm and it's a small set up of tables of four. There is no private dining room for tea. So if we want to do it, we have to book it along with other palo ressies and only up to 4 people each.

Do we want to give up on the whole idea of doing it together? and just book for ourselves? or do we want to get say 10 people to book for tables of four all on the same day? This is what DCL said we should do.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Hi Deb - I'm sending you a pm - I'm still interested.

 :cool1: alright, has anyone else gotten the cruise info packet yet? you know, the one with the pamphlet listing all ofthe excurscions and such? we just got ours today and I'm soooo excited now:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:
