I just got off the phone with DCL and they are doing staggered dining times for anyone who was wondering. Since we're late dining I asked for the times and they're 8, 8:15 and 8:30.

wow - I am kind of surprised. I am kind of hoping for 6pm.

YEAH! OK tablemates....are you ok with requesting whatever the 8P rotation is? That's the one that gets my vote ::yes::

Traditionally that would be TAP, I believe, but don't know if they'll keep it the same. Really, I'm cool with whatever you want, just wanted to throw in my two cents.

Ok, so here's a BIG bummer...when we sailed the magic last our friends had 2612 and 2610 and those rooms did not have steamer trunk because there's not a niche in the room for it (don't know why). So, this sailing we're in 2112 and I asked the agent if the room was configured the same as 2612 and she checked...sure enough...it is configured the same and it does not have a steamer trunk. How will we make it for two weeks without a steamer trunk!?!? UGH! I'm so not happy about that! Anyone got suggestions on a good plan for where we're going to put all our clothes for 4 people, aside from the small closet??

can you ask for another room? that sucks, I'm not sure how you will put everything away, that trunk was full of the kids stuff in our room.

I was just wondering what if any nick names people use ( or don't)

I tend to shorten names if there are short ones that are common, but I know that not all people like that.

I was always Nan when I was little. In junior high I thought it sounded TOOOO tomboyish (ok, that was me regardless of my name :rolleyes1 ) so in an effort to be more feminine I used my middle name (Robin) for all of junior high. Yup my yearbook reads Robin. In high school I moved back to my full first name, Nanette. That stuck until I started working for myself 1996, then I was too busy and went back to Nan been there ever since (although, DH would rather call me Nanette)

long winded as usual. You can just call me babbermouth. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
well, everyone calls me V, unless I am in trouble! J/K.....I think John has only uttered Vanessa on our wedding day!
At work I go by Vanessa for the most part but then again, they don't know about my secret life!:rotfl:

I know, that's what ours was full of too. I asked about another room and she said since it's already assigned we can only do it at the pier...and since it's a full ship (which she of course confirmed) that basically means we're out of luck. What a darn drag...and we're paying the same as those who have a steamer trunk!!!

No problem

BSL is British Sign Languages - we use the sign with two hands.

ASL is Amercian Sign Languages - they use to sign with one hand. Amazing.

I find very difficult with one hand sign but had been learning from two interpreters which we had them last Med Cruise. They were so brilliant and they shared with us . We shared our signs to them, they gave us their signs. They know how to use two hands signs too.

At the show, they were so fantastic. Last day at the show, everybody was clapping at them when they walked in.

I can speaking but not very clearly as my friend David and Alison are good speaking too but not my husband cannot speak very well.

I mean, the world, every country have different signs too. England and Scotland have different signs too.

Scottishwee35

thanks for the info. I find sign language amazing, the simple dexterity is incredible. So will your interpreters hang out with you anytime you wander around the ship, or are they mainly only available at mealtimes?

I know I'm nosy. I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

sorry - don't know if ours has one or not...but hey PARTY ON DECK 2!!!!:cool1:

I don't know who I am sitting with, I think I put in to be at at table with others in this group...so I'm ok with 8pm. I had 8:30 on med and it was too late. Not for eating, but we were never done by 10 and I missed all the deck parties and games.

Also, I might be down in Ontario on the 19th for an auction at the Webb School. So, is it ok if I come down to anaheim just to meet everyone. I can only stay for an hour or so as I beleive I have to be back in ontario by 7pm at the latest. It's funny, cause I think I'll be down at DL on the 6th of march for a cheer competition. So, if anyone is around that weekend and wants to say Hi...I'll love to meet and I'll confirm as soon as I have my ressie.

Yes, especially since now I really need to consider paring down the clothing that we bring...I'll be doing LOTS of laundry which means LOTS of DODs in the laundry room with whoever wants to join me. :lmao:

Hmmmm...on the deck plan it shows niches for those rooms. That'a a bummer.

OK, all you HYATT MCO PEOPLE where are WE having dinner the night before the cruise?

I don't even remember what's available in the airport and has anyone eaten at the Hyatt's restaurant?

I get in 5PMish, I think, and will wait several hours for more folks to show up.

So, suggestions??? :confused3
I'm pretty sure that's where we're staying, but won't arrive until 8ish I think...would love to meet for dinner if anyone else comes in that late...:confused3

my girls know a few signs and I know the alphabet...not much but I hope we are able to communicate with you!! The girls daycare starts teaching them basic signs at 6 months or so....Haley still signs more all the time.

We will be staying the night before at the Residence Inn at Cape Canaveral - are there many people staying there?

Yes, a bunch....in that hotel and others in the neighborhood.

We arrive the morning of the 9th, and will rent a car from MCO to the hotel. We were planning on going to the Kennedy Space Center that day, but we have changed our mind and will now be spending the day relaxing and maybe hitting the pools.

We'll be arriving on the 8th and will be getting mani/pedi, etc. Then doing dinner at Grills on the 9th.

Now, about dinner at Grills that is planned for the 9th? Is this a good restaurant for kids? What are the details. Thanks in advance.

Stacey

Hi Stacey......Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar is an indoor/outdoor casual beach type restaurant. It's right on the water front where the cruise ships go in and out. It's great for kids too. They have typical seafood and american cousine. We're going with a party of about 20 DISers including kids on the 9th at 5:30pm. Want to join us?

So for all of you staying on deck 2...is it bumpy? I've never stayed below deck 6 on any cruise ship. I have a gty 10 and those rooms are all over the ship, but mostly on deck2. Any advise?
