John-it's not just you. That's what started my whole nightmare with my old "LiserAnn" DISname. I thought it had something to do with yahoo, so I got the bright idea to change my email address in my user CP from my yahoo account to my verizon account...bad idea because apparently NO emails are being sent from the DIS. I was supposed to get an activation email to validate the new email address, but since no DIS emails are going out (or being rec'd, not sure which is the problem) I never got it which meant I couldn't activate my account, which of course meant I couldn't use it either. What a nightmare! So, my advice is don't touch your user CP and just remember what page you left off at last, which is a pain, I know but I'm sure you don't want my nightmare of being locked out of DIS. (I was telling Lisa Graves I actually broke out in a cold sweat thinking I'd never be able to log back on )

If you still have any of the old emails, the link works from those too to take you to where you left off. I just look up an old email and click on the link.

So holly, on this cruise, will you be in your room early due to tylers sleep schedule or do you think he'll hold out in kids club for a while?

Well, I certainly plan on trying, but I have no idea if he'll hold out. The latest he's ever stayed up is maybe 10 and that was really difficult to keep him up. The main problem on vacation is how he freaks out with change, and now that I'm learning more about his issues, I see why he never wanted to be in the kids' clubs more than an hour a day and had many, many breakdowns on every single cruise. But I'll sure try! That was definitely the type of cruise I'd planned on having before he ended up joining me.

Holly - Tyler wasn't a fan of the clubs was he?

Nope. He loves all the characters and says he loved the clubs, but he just doesn't cope well being left different places. But since it's not really a new place for him, he knows what to expect now that he's old enough to remember it well, maybe he'll cope better this time.

Yeah V. I remember when my kids had those talks. That always said, "Just Say No", but never explained why you should say no. I went to my son Jeff's 5th grade class and did a talk for the kids about why to say no, and it was great. The school had me talk to all of the 5th graders that day. That was scary. LOL. It was a lot of fun, and the applause was fun too. My son told me that the little girl next to him said that his Dad was soooo cute. (blush). That was a hoot. Of course, that was a few years ago AND SHE DIDN'T SEE MY pASSPORT PHOTO.

Thanks, and you're right it is all about why do we say no. The get answers as simple as "your liver and frontal lobes of your brain aren't ready to process alcohol" It's not because we said so, or that we don't like you! I love teaching 5th grade. 5th and 6th is my specialty. Are you a doctor/physician Dr. HUG?

It is so interesting and amazing the different and varied backgrounds and experiences everyone has here.

You're right, that's my favorite thing about the disboards. We've had many post cruise dismeets and have made permanent relationships from our cruises.


I'd like to point out something very, very important! Bravo is running the "real housewives of Orange County" (which I secretly tune into because I'm so shocked and stunned by it!)

I'd like to say that I don't know anyone in Orange County who acts like them, thinks like them, behaves like them! And I know a lot of really, really rich people here, who are not obnoxious like these people. It stuns me! I've lived here my entire life and wonder where did they find these people? And what will happen to their poor children? If one more show comes here to show the rich and obnoxious people I will just freak out. There are some beautiful people here, but the ones I know are into health and giving back and paying it forward... and I know a lot of people! I just have to get that off my back every time I see it.

Also, My DD usually goes to bed at 8:30pm on school days and 9-9:30 on weekends. Depends on her disposition. She will always fall right to sleep. Last night she stayed up with her cousins until 11pm! BUT they didn't get up until 8am this morning. So, on the cruise she's up until midnight, and thanks to the inside cabin darkness, she doesn't get up until 9-10am! Unless I wake her! When we get home, she's right back on her normal schedule!

You're so lucky she adapts so easily. Since Tyler doesn't do well with changes, never has, his sleep schedule just doesn't change much on vacation either. I've tried, but he just gets all freaked out, and I'm assuming it's part of the OCD issue.

A guy named Ken. I don't want to put his last name on here. I agree with Kelly - they were the best ones I ever had. The lanyards were very light and nor scratchy at all. The name tags were also the same as the magnets he gave people. Wish he was on this cruise!

Ken (Kpros) made them. He made all of them for the B2B, so I think he had to quit his day job to get them all done before the cruise.

We could easily replicate them with our own style. I'd be happy to do it unless there is someone who already has it planned out. I think I may have read that someone is already assigned to this duty????

She only adapts on the cruises. When we go to other places, disneyland, hawaii etc...not so good. It's the kids club thats her distraction. She doesn't need me to entertain her..which (as she tells me) I don't do well!

I can't offer you help here, but I can tell you that you could have the flip problem about NOT going to bed. We have struggled with Molly on this for years. Last night she was up reading at 11pm

Oh my.....and then it's probably hard for her to get up the next morning. I guess there are good and bad parts on either end.

HOWEVER, today he took a nap for just a few minutes shy of FOUR HOURS! (I got 3 hours in). So I'm curious to see how late he'll be able to stay up tonight! Hopefully long enough to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I used to tape it for him and he LOVES that show.

Sorry I suddenly disappeared last night. My internet wasn't cooperating. First, my computer slowed to a crawl because updates were being downloaded. Then I lost my internet connection and was too tired to deal with it. This morning, my little computer is quicker than ever! Unfortunately, I have to leave for work in 10 minutes.

We are not signed up for the Minnie 5K, but have registered for the Disneyland Half Marathon on August 31.

Hey, we just decided do this run this past Thursday. We are both very excited, we haven't ever done anything like this before. We started hitting Lifetime more often recently as we are trying to get in better shape as we age. We thought the Half Marathon would be a perfect goal to set.

We are meeting my SIL and MIL (they have Sophia with them) for dinner tonight at a favorite Greek restaurant, Papa Gyros (pronounced yeeros for the non-Greeks out there).

My SIL wanted to take us to dinner because she got a good promotion at her job at the University of Toledo where she works in a capacity for the residence halls for the college.

Love the chance to have that Greek food, especially now that I don't get it very much with mom gone.

on these specialty cruises do they ever open up the spa to younger kids? Not that I need more money down the drain but it would be great to have a BBB on the ship.

On port days they do offer a Mommy and Me Mini spa Taster - it is one of those you have to go to the spa to see the special - do not know if it is just on one certain port day or all port days.
