Re my hair....

I'd been growing it out for the last year + after I heard about Locks for Love. It is an organization that accepts donated hair and then transforms that hair into wigs for kids who have lost their hair due to cancer or another illness.

If you donate under 10 inches they will sell your hair and use the $. If you donate 10 inches or more, they will use your hair for the wigs.

I figured it's only hair, and if I don't like it this short, it'll grow back. I've actually had my hair this short before, but it's been years! It will take some getting used to again!

It will be weird to wash it and have so much less to wash, and the drying! It'll take no time now!

Monica, I applaude you on this. Such a big bold step. It looks great.
Our neice Sammi, who is 8 just recently had her hair cut and donated to Locks for Love. She had heard about this from a friend at school who did it, and said that since her hair would grow back she wanted to help the kids who couldn't.

OK.....I can't stand my internet withdrawals ANY MORE! I just signed up for AT&T basic phone (the cheapest plan available because I'll never use it) and DSL internet (again, the cheapest they offer) and I'm still saving money over cable. My cable tv and cable internet bill was about $60/month. The AT&T phone & DSL internet will be $29.58/month. So even though I'm having to pay for a phone line that I won't make calls on (won't even bother connecting a phone--I like only having my cell - makes things easier), I'll still save money! AND even better, I don't have to go through internet withdrawals much longer. My connection date is only 5 days from now.

Well, I hope this doesn't sound crazy, but cats are very intuitive and the mom probably knew her kitten needed help and knew that you'd take care of it for her. I'll bet that mom shows up in a few days to check on her kitten.

I agree about cats being intuitve. Our current cats picked us! THe kitten was very socialized and litter box trained so I figure it belonged to a neighbor. I knew the little kids across the street had 2 kittens. So this morning we went over and it was theirs!!!! Good thing it was the LOUDEST cat. It meowed all night, it hated being left alone. This is the second kitten of theirs we have found. They need to keep their animal inside!!! The big cat is still in the back yard and we are feeding it but it won't come near us. Also a neighbors dog got in our backyard today and he had to come it! It has been a crazy day.

It's my first time also.....I just discovered the DIS on the 11 night southern, quite by accident. Then when I got home, I logged on for the first time. This will be my first DIS pic and I'm so greatful that it's with this group.

YES BRING THE KIDS AND EVERYONE WEAR A DIS LIME GREEN SHIRT!!! So we can all look snappy!!!

I like the idea of all matching and don't object at all.. a few little comments.
1) For our family reunion, each family had there own matching outfits. That way you could tell who was with who, and each family got matching outfits that they felt comfortable in. Just a thought...I know lime green is our DIS color...
2) I thought I recalled (maybe it was Noel) someone who said they got Mickey to join their DIS photo. They did it in the Atrium, and it was a really big crowd. It might have been the 2005 repo cruise. Anyone remember that? The photo looked pretty cool.
3) Maybe we can arrange two photos, that way if someone misses the first, they could make the second or vice versa. If we did it later in the cruise, we could put a notice in the navigator to remind people.

We need some prayers:

My greatgrandmother died today at the age of 93. My grandmother (the one who was sick) is doing ok but they think it will get alot worse when she is at the funeral. We knew it was coming but it will still be hard on her.

Half the time I don't make it to Goofy's pool for the sail away party.....and I really want to be there.......just not happening most times. I have been there twice I think and have cruised 5 times now. Day one is nutso!

You can bet that we won't miss it for this cruise. We'll want to see everyone and have fun together celebrating.

Glad to hear that! I love the sailaway...the kids always have bubbles and love the excitment as well.

Oh, I keep forgetting to mention the part about his stepmom. SO BUSY here at work today, things slip my mind easily. Well, it turns out she wasn't able to come because she couldn't get anybody to cover for her at work 2 days in a row. When we went into the doctor's office, Tyler's dad told the doc this, and she said, "Well, I was only meeting with the two of you anyway. Just the parents for the first visit". He looked a bit surprised! Then the 2nd visit is just the TWO parents and Tyler, and then on the 3rd visit she wants the stepmom to join in because that's the day she says we'll "strategize".

That made me laugh. Must have felt good to have the doctor confirm your thoughts...the step mom has to take a step back! Glad to hear that things are moving forward.

Oh, I'm sure I'd be the same way, if I ever had a chance to travel with somebody who'd enjoy my new skivvies!

I can't figure out what to do in PV, we were planning on the pirate ship but it is ALL day, I kind of would rather do something for 1/2 the day and then be able to sightsee a little.

We did the pirate ship and loved it. They do put on a great show, but I understand wanting to do something 1/2 day as well...

On the excursions it would be nice if Disney would at least show if there were more then one time or if it was an early or mid-day excursion. I think I have been spoiled by being able to see historical excursion sheets, and now I am set adrift, no structure.....I will be ok, honest I can go with the flow, I think.

I have one other comment on the picture.

I have done this 3 times now (have I told you I normally travel with 50 others from my church?? it will be weird for just me and Daniel)...it is so frustrating trying t get the photographer in the right place at the right time.

Shutters (I made a typo the first time.....I typed an "i" instead of a "u" has ) never has been where they said they would at the time they said they would.

Just an FYI for whoever to going to talk to them.

When we stayed in the Roy last January, we arranged for a special photo and it took forever for the photographer to show up at the prearranged time. By then, our little one was crying and we couldn't get him to stop. Terrible picture. I do think those photographers have their own timeline, despite conceirge or anything. But it is the best way I think to have them take it...we just might need to wait a little bit!

I need some advice. I had trouble with my TA when we first booked this cruise and since we booked haven't heard one word from her. When I email to ask about certain things she doesn't reply back one of her coworkers seems to do so. My dilemma I have is that DU will offer a $600 OBC on top of the one I am getting from Disney but how do you go about asking a TA to release the reservation?

UGH! There is a huge OBC difference and i'm unhappy with the service I'm getting but I also don't want to cause any problems by switching companies.

Have any of you ever switched TA's?

I think Monica already responded...usually it is near impossible to switch directly from one TA to another...you need to first return it to DCL. Good luck!

By the way, I just realized that I was thinking final payment was due on 2/10, but my TA's receipt said 1/31/08, so if you're not paid off and you have a TA check your date!

I think TAs do that too so they don't have to process all the payments on the last day.

They would show the divers in the intro on Love boat and then in clips to show where they were, every once in a while. Those divers were a large part of my cruising reference before I went on DCL the first time.

I think that the EB repo in 2005 had a DIS meet listed in the Navigator, as long as it is not on the first day, I think they can add it in, don't know whom we should contact for that, Guest Services I think.

That's who took ours. Then we just went to Shutters and asked for it. When they ran out they printed more. They put a caption on it too with the Cruise dates, Western double dip and our group name so they would probably put Ship of thieves on ours along with the dates and Westbound PC Repo.

I think this would be a great way to do it. Let's try and get them to do ours too.

My multi-posting really kills my post count though!

I CAN'T believe I don't remember the divers. I mean I LOVED the Love Boat shows and don't think there is one that I missed. My friends in college would call me Julie McCoy because I was the big planner and always talked about the show. I have to find a clip of the intro....we went on the Love Boat...well the sister ship of it...Island Princess. The Pacific Princess was the actual one. I'm not sure if it is still sailing or not...it was back in 1996 when we went. It was a great cruise, 14 nights starting in Athens and ending in Rome. Went to Israel, Egypt, Turkey...all before kids. Actually, that was the last time we took such a long vacation as this one will be. My DH is still concerned about taking the time off of work...but I'm totally, totally committed.

I am going to start the fish teams again. I need to review all my notes and PMs and will post whose on what team and contact the lead person. PJ- will you post the teams on the website once I post them? Thanks! Lisa

Picture date looks good to me. I won't schedule a spa time! ha. Glad to hear tylers condition is being handled. Sounds like you have a good plan.

Well I came home today to ants! ugh! I hate the rain, cause it drowns their home and then they come into my home. I put out the "bait" and am hoping it helps take care of the situation.

I am not paying the balance of my cruise off until the 25th. I just want to get all the free time possible but I want the payment to post so I can book the excursions on the 9th.

On the plus side, I went shopping tonight and bought new pants 2 sizes smaller! yea...I was so excited I even tried on those 200 jeans. I'd never fit them before and now I can. NOW I didn't buy them cause I'm not crazy and btw they were so low I swear my butt crack was hanging out..but it was just nice for them to actually fit.

I just caught Wilson working on the go-kart with Paul in a pair of his CRUISE Pants!!!! A cute pair of Polo pants that he got from a friend as handmedowns. I saw them and looked at his father and screamed (okay not that loud) Just last week Paul asked me if he should put them in the cruise box and I said, no he can wear them between now and then (BUT NOT TO WORK ON THE GO-KART!!!!!! ) ok, boys will be boys.
Truth be told I think that Wilson has gorwn in the last 2 months and his pants my not fit in May....that's ok, I'm glad he is finally getting some height, I'll gladly buy him some new pants if he gets taller.
