As you guys know, I am on EB and WB. The EB website was "broken into" by this group. As best I can tell, they are DIS people who have been banned from DIS. There was viruses sent out and I am not too sure of what else went on. Well, they must have gotten my e-mail address off of that site, as I got the following e-mail.....kinda of Yucky

It is very sad they have to advertise for members.

Censorship? Being treated like a child and being told what you can and cannot say? Is LBGraves more than a little overbearing as she roars what topics and subjects are allowed and which are not?

Sound like a typical day on the DIS?

Why not join a group of like-minded DCL cruisers that will actually value your independent thinking? That will actually speak up for your right to have your own thoughts and express your own feelings without fear of total censorship.

That's just not nice of them. If it weren't for lbgraves and the other mods gently guiding the conversations when they get off track or too out of control, this site would turn into a place we wouldn't be able to let our kids be a part of.

Wow, that is kind of pitiful. I can't believe that adults would need to behave that way. Who would want to spend their vacation time in that atmosphere?

I have read some of the pages over there. There does not seem to be any topics off limit, except for those off limit for all of the DIS.

I may be wrong but I do not think EB has set up another website. I don't go there much...but I do have a few DISfriends on that baord and they said they would e-mail me if one was set up.

It is really pretty sad. I posted over there (EB thread) because Lisa is our good friend, and we have been on several cruises with her and her family. Their idea of freedom, from what I have seen, is the ability to be mean spirited, mean, and use whatever language they want to. If that's what they want to do, fine - do it in your own backyard, and leave everyone else alone.

If you get to meet Lisa on your EB cruise, you will see that she is a GREAT person!

That board and another one that I have heard of started by another banned poster can have all that kind of "freedom" they want. In six years, I have had a wonderful time, met great friends, and never had a problem with posting here.

If in order to build yourself up you have to tear others down and insult them, you ought to re-examine what you are doing.

Hello everybody! I am just posting a blanket note that I have edited out the name of the website noted in the spam. That and the group that are members there are not permitted to be posted on the DIS.

There haven't been any viruses attached to the emails sent out. The EB group does have a website however I took it down after the first round of emails was received from this person. They posted on our thread, submitted their information to gain access to the site, then used the emails on the site...not in our group email list...to send out the spam.

Now that is cleared up, I would appreciate it if the discussion about this stops on the boards. As a group we are working together to not let this affect us or our TOAL cruise. We don't want to give it the attention it doesn't deserve. Please do not take this the wrong way. I appreciate your support but I don't want it spreading to the main boards and becoming a bigger issue than it needs to be. I hope that I am explaining myself well enough. The person doing this wants to create chaos. We have control of that here. Let's just have fun planning our cruises!

I did not get any viruses. I only heard from others that viruses were a problem...so I am not sure.

I am sure Lisa G. is awesome. SueEllen (one of the other moderators) is a very dear friend of mine, and she has always spoken highly of Lisa. With our 5 Lisa's here....and then more over there!!

If it is the same group, we received a similar email after we had reserved the 11 day SC cruise. Went to check it out and quite frankly those folks over there were complete a$$es. Don't need to go into what happened, but we all aren't missing anything.

Lost comes on! I was just setting my vcr to tape it. Falling asleep already, so I know I'll never make it awake through the show. Guess I'm headed to bed early tonight. 2 guys at work today asked me if I was tired. Gee, I looked that bad?! Must really need some beauty sleep!

sadly enough I have not seen them. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to the cable bill and don't have all the good channels. We do get one that plays reality replays, it might have Survivor but I have just missed it.

Soon DH will get that big screen and we will upgrade to some kind of HD tv with a tivo kinda thing....just waiting for him to buy it.
