This will be known as the "permanate marker incident" :crazy2:

Ack!!! How frustrating for you! I know they won't do it, again. (She types, hopefully, as her own permanent marker incident was last week with a Green sharpie on a light wood table.... Oh, and oldest once made a road with markers on the tan carpet IN A RENTAL home....)

Feel your pain...

Carolyn

LiserAnn....I SWEAR I saw Fluff at Albertsons last week. I'll check again. I can make a DISdelivery in May!

Carolyn

Where is it? just wondering if it is still open and how far away it is! :) Thanks

It's up at the Burlington Factory Mall. You would take I5 north and get off at the exit you take to go to Anacortes. You can see it from the freeway on the right hand side. I think it's going to be there until mid-April. One of the girls that worked there said she thought they were going to be in Totem Lake after that. By the way, if you get the chance to go...tell them you got their email. Then you'll get a 10% discount.

Good morning everyone! Hope you had a good weekend.

I started out this weekend volunteering at the Give Kids the World Village, then spent too many hours (and $) at the Scrapbooking Expo at the Orlando Convention Center, then went to Tampa yesterday to see "Wicked" - good play.

I had read the book too - am now reading "Son of a Witch" (the sequel). I have also read "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister". I also love Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts, Mauve Binchy, Anne River Siddons, The Left Behind series, and game to try just about anything else - have jotted down some of your recommendations to check out.

My first job - Baskin Robins - loved being able to eat whatever I wanted while I was working, and actually got to the point that I didn't want ice cream (didn't last).

No pets for me at this time...not home too much and not fair to the animal.

Ok will post another thing soon about the bracelets..

Hi everybody!:)
Only just got on here to day as I spent the morning catching up with a freind then had to go supermarket shopping....which just seemed to take forever!

First thing I want to know.......what on earth is 'fluff'??? How do you eat it? It is edible, right??:confused3 :lmao:

Ok, I hate to admit it but I got an idea from the EB thread.

Should I call MCO and see about getting a group rate? Do you think we can get one? I can try tomorrow. I will ask for some suites, some standard rooms, etc. Making sure they have a good cancellation policy b/c as some/most of you know - you can get MCO on hotwire dirt cheap most of the time. But anyway, maybe we can get some suites at a discount, which you can't get on hotwire. I'm thinking they might not give a group rate if we just say a bunch of people for a cruise. So I might say it is a family reunion - we are like family now right?? Does anyone have any experience in this? EB has some group rates already lined up for their trip.

I am happy to report they are just now discussing Bunko after we have ours all set and ready! See, they might do a lot of yapping over there on the EB thread but are they really getting anything done?? :rotfl:

Finally, if we do get a group at MCO, maybe we can arrange for a conference room for a Mimosa buffet breakfast in the morning? The ideas just keep coming! Lisa

what a fab idea Lisa! Love the idea of the group breakfast too!:)

Living in the SF bay area, we get a few good ones to...

Female (like Tamale in sound)
Sequoia
Bark
Sierra (very popular in my daughters age group - 12)
Aqua

Hope I'm not offending anyone with kids with these names...;)

Karen

There's some great names there....we had some strange names at the school I was working in, but I laughed aloud at 'Bark'!!!!:rotfl2:

Well, I work in a bookstore so I ALWAYS have a book going.

my second fave ideal job if I wasn't a librarian!!:thumbsup2

Kim, it is called a library, lol. Although it would be great if they delivered to your mailbox.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

OK...there are too many things in that post making me laugh! :rotfl2: Kids!

Ok - check this limo bus out: http://www.a1limobus.com/new_limo_bus.htm
The photos aren't great but you get the idea: largest limo bus in Florida! :drive: 50 passengers! party: Between the two hummerized vehicles and this one, we could take the whole crew from MCO! Actually, when our vehicles pull up, those that purchased transfers through Disney will be looking so sad: :sad1: We will wave :wave2: and tell them we will save them a seat at the Mickey Pool :p

Lisa

WOW!!!!!:worship: They look sooooooo cool!!!!!!

Proud Mom Moment!

Ok, I have to brag a bit about my DD. I am staying up in Bodega to finish up some projects, etc. and wonderful DH went home (even thought he hates to leave it up here) and they are in charge of tonight's routine and the morning routine tomorrow.

Anyhoo, DD just called to let me know that she had cleaned her room, got all of her school work together, (she had been out sick on Wednesday and Thursday and had make up work) her clean PE uniform and was checking in with me to see what she needed to prep for the morning!!

She even made more points by telling me that it was tough being mom, lots to remember, and that she missed me!!:cutie:

What a sweet kid!! Every now and then she really reminds me of how amazing she is!!:lovestruc

Karen

she sounds really special karen, a real princess!princess:

What a great idea! But, then, I guess that's what the local library is for. Unfortunately, it rarely has what I want...it will order from another branch, but I want what I want NOW!:)

Carolyn

lol carolyn, I know just what you mean.....and I worked in a public library for 26 years!;)

...........oh and Aunty Brat, your shuffle list is very cool....I love Papa Roach and My Chemical Romance!:cool1:

PM me your address and I will send some to you. I just bought it yesterday at the Giant. It really is very good and the recipe for fudge on the back is awesome!!
!!)

Fluff is a marshmallow cream, but it is different (and better) than the one that they sell called marshmallow cream. When I was growing up my favorite thing was peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, forget jelly and go straight for the extra sugar! :) When I moved to WA state from CT there were a lot of things that I could no longer find and Fluff was one of them. I will have to look at Albertson's and see if they now carry it there:cool1: If not, I might be PM'ing you for a jar :thumbsup2 When I do go back east, I always bring suitcase and stock up on somethings, DH things I am crazy:upsidedow

That is way KEWL! Imagine arriving at the port in that thing! :cool1:

I had gotten a quote from them for their hummer's, since they have a fleet of 5 and their price was 370 for the hummer plus 140 for the luggage van! $100+ more than Happy Limo. I am hoping to get an email out today about the limos and such. There are a few more people who have PM'd me about joining in recently. At this point, we have 39 people (plus 4 waiting) so we could do a hummer and the luxury van or something? when I get to work and get a break, I will send out an update. I can also check into the price of the bus.

Thanks, I used to get the postcards in the mail, but don't anynore:sad1: Maybe they think Burlington is too far away from me! Any really good deals there that would make it worth the trip? My girlfriend lives in Arlington, so i could head up and visit and then just "happen" by the store! Otherwise, I might wait until it hits Totem Lake.

Thanks for the info.:)

I'm ready for a new friend and am in the process of trying to adopt on of these sweeties

They are SOOOOOOOO cute.

I think Petfinder.com is the best thing since sliced bread. I even have a Petfinder license plate frame. I love to think that maybe someone behind me on the road reads my license plate holder that says "adopt a homeless pet" and makes a mental note of the Petfinder.com domain name. Once you get on that site, it's hard not to find someone to love!

:offtopic: :offtopic:
OK. Winter HAS TO END. I thought it was bad when my gas bill last month was $150, but the one I just got was $220!! That's insane for my tiny 774 sq. ft. house! My windows are only a year old, no drafts there. I try to keep thermostat set at 61 degrees and we just dress warm, but occasionally turn it up to 65 degrees. And I turn it even lower when I'm gone all day at work. We just had abnormally cold temps since mid-January. :furious: I can't afford for winter to continue much longer! :faint:

Sorry, just had to vent....feeling better now. Getting up to go turn the heat down even lower. :rolleyes2

Holly, ITA! No more winter!!! Except it's supposed to be cold all week around here, especially tomorrow. I was hoping to make it into spring with the last time we filled the oil tank, but it's looking grim these days.

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with the thread guys!

I saw that everyone was listing their first jobs and their pets.

My first job was "ice hockey instructor," at the rink we used to practice at. I taught 5-10 year old beginners. After college, my first REAL job was as an accounts receivable clerk for a company that made and serviced life alert monitors (like you've seen in the "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial from the 90s).

We don't have any pets yet. DH and I bought our first house in September, and couldn't keep pets in our apartment. Now we're still adjusting to adding a baby to the family, so maybe next year? I'd love to have a kitten!

mmmmmm fluff!

I read Wicked and the sequel, and we've seen the show on Broadway twice. I was disappointed in the sequel though.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Thanks for that Kaylee!:) Sounds a bit too sickly for me, but I can imagine it's pretty popular!:):)

Bad news...:sad1: They don't have the largest limo bus in Orlando. It is in Miami or something. Anyhoo, we can get this:
http://www.a1limobus.com/jumbo.htm
If I recall, a lot of the people signing up for the Hummers were coming without their children? We could take some youngsters in this one and maybe the the Hummer be more for adults? I think I will be booking this - we are a family of 6 so we have room for 2-4 more families, depending on the size of the family. If ends up just us, my kids will have a blast so no worries! It is $400/one way (I forgot to ask if that included tip - he thought I was pretty crazy calling so early!). Anyway, let's assume it didn't - add $60 so $460. If we got 20 people, it would be $23/each person.
So - if any families want to join us - PM me and let me know! It would be great if another families with under 10 year olds could join so our kids could meet. Don't want to change anyone's plans with the Hummer - I think we will be taking over the Hyatt so we need as many transportation vehicles as possible! So this will be in addition to the already planned 2 Hummers. We actually might need another Hummer! I can just picture it now: we will be like a President's parade driving down to the Port! What time does everyone plan on being at the port? 10am? I was thinking of picking up at 9am but maybe that is too early.

Speaking of the Hyatt:
I called. For a small group, they only reserve a year in advance. I asked what was considered small, and they said less than 40 rooms. I don't think we have 40 do we? They do have a conference room to do a breakfast. I can't wait until we hit the 12 month mark! So many more things we can plan!
Lisa

Getting behind on this thread again. :(

My first job was at Dairy Queen. Yummy ice cream!

Pets: We have two cats. A black kitty named Sasha and a calico named Nala. They are both getting older and now have some health issues but they are still great cats.
