Did "team Geek" get a day assigned yet?

Team Geek= Me and DW, Angie and Dennis, PJ, Kimerinc, Vanessa, and Liserann.

Not sure if Angie or someone got us a day assignment.

JOhn1, yes, we are Lucky 13 - I sent a PM to Calmom yesterday. She is listing me as contact, if that is ok with all the Geeks. I don't think it matters really who she just needs someone for a contact.

OK with me Angie!

Just wanted to make sure we were officially in the mix.

So Geeks, Angie is our contact through the Boards, and we will communicate via email on our ideas.

Another suggestion . . .

Amy and I were talking about this last night . . . what if more than one group does the same thing? I would suggest since Calmom has organized the dates, if each group can communicate to her through their contact what they are doing. If they communicate something that is already being done by another group, she can let them know that, and they can decide if they want to do something different. That way we can preserve the surprise for most people (unfortunately, Calmom will know ALL).

Calmom, if you would prefer someone else do this so you can be surprised, let us know, and we can designate someone else.

I bet I could even find someone else that I know on the DIS that we can communicate this to who may be willing to do the same thing for us.

Ideas?

Might this be the lady with the clipboard? :lmao: That might be fun to have surprises for everyone including Calmom.

Ok - my inbox is CLEAR! Sorry about that. I didn't know they kept all my sent messages! Lisa

I'm fine with whatever! Teams have been telling me what they are thinking about - no duplicates yet. But if there is someone else people can PM their final idea, that would be great. Whatever is easiest though - I don't mind not being surprised.

We still need about 7 more individuals/families to complete two teams - the team on the 14th needs 6 more to make their gift happen and team on the 1st needs at least 1 more.

Hi everyone.

Angel - not a nice day to have to go through, but how lovely the service sounded for that special girl!

Can somebody just explain please what it entails being on one of these fish extender filler teams? Thanks. I don't think I have quite understood yet!!

Noel,

Have you ever been to the quilt shop in Sister, Or? I hear it's fabulous and I have seen the quilt books put out by the owner Jean Wells.

Karen, wife of been2marceline

No, I haven't as I am not much of a quilter. My cousin Colleen in the UK is however. She picked up the skill when her husband brought the family to the US for a few years while he worked at ROLM. I have been once with her to a quilt shop in Chester, California called Mountain Maid Quilter. It is near Lake Almanor where we have a summer house. We also went to Sew Unique with Colleen in Mount Shasta, California where my sister Cheryl lives.

My DD and I are with you on the SHOES!! On most of our 7 day or more trips, we have a separate duffle just for the shoes!!

SHOES are also a high priority for me!! My favorites is Stuart Weitzman shoes. They fit my feet perfectly!!

Unfortunatly, we have to keep up with work at all times on all vacations, part of the deal with owning your own internet business. So our DELL LAPTOP WHICH WE L O V E comes with us on all trips. Wasn't going to go there, but we are not MAC people at all (unless we're talking about the cosmetic line, my DD and I LOVE MAC cosmetics!)Karen, wife of been2marcelineQUOTE]

My DD is fond of Trish McEvoy. I use a combination on La Prarie, Enzio Lazlo, Kinetin, Kinerase, Cellux C and Dr. Idiris products.

Noel, looks like you'll be getting on the Magic as we get off this May then!:lmao: We're on the westbound that docks back on the 11th...we'll wave as we leave ;):

I am only on the 2007 NYE Cruise and the 2008 WB repo (so far). :lmao:

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm shoes! :cool1: :cloud9: Wonder how many pairs I can fit into my measly luggage for the flight ;)

I try an rationalize to dh that my shoes weigh very little;) . Of course I always get to hear something about how many pairs of shoes I bring. What can I say....shoes are a necessity in this woman's life:cool1: Feeling sad...run to Nordstroms and get a new pair of shoes. hard day at work...run to Nordstrom's and get a comfy pair of shoes. Sick...nothing cures you better than new shoes. Unfortunately, I have already passed this obsession onto both my dd's! Maybe I will be packing one of those over the door shoe holders that people mention.

So we got teams in progress! We have leaders for:
May 10 : txsleepingbeauty team leader
May 12 : Birkner team leader
May 13 : Mrs. Mork team leader "Geek team"
May 14 : Pahrumpgirl team leader
May 16 : Calmom team leader
May 19 : Sealuator team leader

Lisa

I added the team leader names above. Each team has between 4-5 members. Some need more members so we will wait to make a new team until that happens. There was a question about fish mail and teams so let's see if I can explain it so it somewhat makes sense:

Some people have bought from Pahrumpgirl, or will bring their own, "fish extenders." A description of fish extender is on page 1 as well as on PJ's website. Throughout the cruise, people will deliver special treats (pirate stuff, stickers, whatever) in everyone's fish extender (special treats = fish mail). It was mentioned that it can get expensive to buy the fish mail for so many people so that is where the "team" concept came from. If groups of people got together to buy stuff, it would lower the cost. It also might enable some to buy nicer items. Everything is voluntary - you do not need to join a team to get fish mail nor do you need to buy anything on your own. However, if you would like to do something on your own and deliver it during the cruise, that would be great! If you would like to join a "team" to contribute money towards an idea the group comes up with, that would be great! If you want to join a team, or be a "team leader" (basically a contact for me to communicate with to make sure that no teams duplicate the same idea) PM me (if you can:rolleyes1)!

So far, we have the above teams developed. May 14 team needs 4 more people to make their gift choice happen. As soon as that team is full, we will open up a new day! Hope that all is as clear as mud:eek: .

Sent you a PM to add me to a team!

Wow! I didn't catch this. So three Lisas are having birthdays??? That is great! Lisa

So, how many Lisa's are there on this cruise? It seems we're all about the same age, so I'm thinking that must have been the name of the time!?!

I hadn't though of that, but the possibility does exist! I like your idea John!

WHITEHOUSE Press Pool.....it says you live in IOWA!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: We have several neighbors and friends who work in the White House and in the Press Corp...but we LIVE in DC!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I know, I know. Sounds ridiculous. Now you can see why DH travels so much. Not too much news in Iowa of national importance, just every 4 years for the political stuff--which has already started here. :scared1: It gets earlier every election. DH has worked for NBC for 20 years, and about 10 years ago, we decided to move home to Iowa to raise our children, be nearer to aging parents, etc. DH always traveled extensively even when we lived in Atlanta and he worked for the bureau there, so we figured he could travel from Iowa just as easily. Anywhoo, he's part of the travel pool for the Whitehouse press corps. Basically goes on all the trips that the DC folks don't want to do, especially when Bush goes to Crawford. They all hate that. :sad2: DH may select his next presidential candidate based on where said new president would be taking his or her vacations. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here's a story you can all appreciate. My DH (not realizing our cruise is sold out) invited his oldest sister, DH and son (who's the age of our youngest) to come along on this cruise with us. She laughed and told him she can't plan anything that far out.........and here we are planning fish extenders, gifts, activities, DIS Meets, etc. Too funny for me. Guess they'll never be going on a Disney cruise OR they can expect to pay a lot. When we booked our DCL Mexico trip in '04, his entire family (4 sisters and mom) thought we were CRAZY for planning something that far off. Thank god DH is not of their same philosophy!

Well, we were poorer than dirt...lusting after friends' Pong game!

Carolyn

I remember that! We, of course, did not have one (also poorer than dirt). I remember going to a friend's house and we were all just mesmerized. It was the coolest thing ever!! :lmao: :lmao:

wow - sounds like things are comping together with all the groups! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

It is absolutley gorgeous here....I just turned on the hot tub so DH and I can relax tonight. Trying to get the girls bag packed for the weekend trip. My sister is staying with us - I think. My mom and my sister's boyfriend cancelled...not sure why? Since the whole weekend will focus on MGM, I think day 1 I am going to let DH do his thing (even though I am just as in to sports as he) and take the girls to the various shows meeting up for lunch and leaving. I figure the guy deserves a helluva break - he puts up with three girls all the time and lets us take Disney trips as much as I want...then maybe the other days I can hit MK with the girls myself or even Epcot or MGM.

Not sure if he'll go for that but hey, it's worth a shot.

I am really excited for the cruise...and am beginning a budget for spending. I am sure we'll be spending a lot. I am also thrilled with the new ships...who knows when and how they will begin booking for those but I want in!!
