Well, it is official. Aunty Brat will be abandoning her post and posts from May 11th to May 27th to go on some kind of wacky cruise across the pond with some fly by night company called DCL?? Any of you all ever heard of them? Seriously, I am looking for a substitute roll call and update updater! PM you applications to AuntyBrat and I will wade through the tons of responses and select one lucky winner!!! Just think how much fun it could be to be me for a few days!!! No really, it is!!!

I would be you for a few days if I could go on the Repo!!

Someone posted that back for the Magic maiden sailing, DCL asked for deposits about 3 yrs prior before anything was really set. The dates got pushed back once (maybe more). She said they got letters from DCL throughout the whole process.
I find it strange that the announcement didn't come with a coordinated effort to take deposits (which they would have easily gotten). I am wondering if it is a similar situation with what might have happened with the 2008 west coast annoucement- somehow their plans were leaked so they just go for it and make the announcement. I have gotten three different stories from DCL since yesterday and now Noel's TA received another one (that they will keep requests on file- I was told they will not take any requests at this time). Just seems a bit disorganized to me. Lisa

Your theory may be correct as they seem to me unprepared for taking any ressies. However, I do trust my TA, her Disney rep and her contact in IC will be sure that if I want a SR on the maiden voyage, something will be made available. I would suspect in the next few months IC will decide what the deposits will be and my TA will let me know. She has never let me down and if it can be done, she will make sure it is done.

I will keep you all posted as the saga continues.

Sorry Noel-today was a busy day, I have a part time job, working out of the house and I had a full time day!!! It really impacted my other full time job (DISing) Anyway, yes, we have decided and I'm going to ask AuntyBrat to post it on page one.

You certainly can do magnets on your own. I don't think there are any set rules about these gifts, the teams just came about as a way to get some nice things for not too much $$. Other stuff is welcome also. I am thinking about some smalll things to drop in as well as the team item. Do what you feel. Don't fee obligated to do anything.

Carol-I got mine today as well....such excellent work. Very professional, not to mention beautiful. We'll have the boys decorate their "pouches" closer to the cruise but I'm tempted to start today on mine!!

Noel-I would say, yes, it sounds like they'll be wanting deposit money!

My TA told me to just sit tight and wait as DCL was telling her they were not taking any info at the moment. I agree with Lisa (and everyone else), it would be so nice if there was a straight answer somewhere within DCL.

So as soon as anyone hears if they'll be wanting deposits, please post it here!!!

Gosh, I havent been on all week. My poor dd is not recovering well from her tonsillectomy, has been back in the hospital twice for IV fluids.

I am so far behind in what is going on with this thread, but would love to be part of a team for whatever, if there is still room somewhere We have never done fish extenders or fish mail but would LOVE to participate.

Finally a day off and am going to take my three youngest to the post office to get passports. Have been doing birth certificates only for them past couple cruises and now finally ready to just plunk down the money and get it over with.

Never done any of the martini or wine tastings, just never had the time. Sound like fun though.

I am getting so excited about this cruise that it is kind of taking the excitement away from the cruises I have planned prior to this one.

Hope that everyone has exciting plans for the weekend!!

I hope your daughter is doing better. I just noticed your tag!!! 6 girls and 1 boy??? I come from a family with 5 girls and 1 boy. I can't wait to meet all your daughters and tell them how awesome they will find having so many sisters as they get older! 3 of my sisters live within 10 miles, the other lives in Portland. The Portland sister will be going on the EB Repo. I will see the whole family today at my single sister's son baptism. She adopted a baby boy from Gutemala. I love big families! We have 4 boys and I often think about having more. But it just seems crazy at times! Hats off to you Jeanne!

FISH MAIL INFO:
I am keeping track of people in my PM box. So please PM me! I am still looking for team leaders before putting together more teams. Right now Noel (Birkner) and I (Calmom) are two team leaders. May 12 is Birkner's team and we are May 16. So we need team leaders for other days.

Also, someone asked if they can do their own thing - my vote is: ABSOLUTELY!!! I think there should be no rules with this, other than within a team if they decide. John (Jhalkias) suggested teams to help keep the costs down as well as give options to give bigger gifts. If we don't have 15 teams, no big deal. We will organize as many teams as needed, and will post when the teams will be delivering mail. Individuals can deliver mail any time!

Should we be PMing Linda (seaulater) if we have a fish extender or May Christmas Stocking so it can be noted in the mini-navigator?

I'm so excited! I love planning and my husband is so glad I found you all so I can stop talking to him about our trip!!!

I am the oldest of five girls, no brothers. Each of us has had at least one boy, one sister two boys. My DS has three boys and DD has two girls and a boy. The number 3 seems to run in my immediate family. I have a sister in Mt. Shasta, in Springfield, OR and the last sister in Sisters, OR. One of my sisters had lived close by but she passed away in 2004 of cancer. Since my sisters are not closeby, we only see each other in the summers as two of them have school age children and the unmarried one has a BF who two of us have never met in the 6 years she has been with him. We all gather for at least two weeks in the summers and have for many years.
