Todd....trying to pirate.

Hi all, Busy at work today and haven't read everything from yesterday or earlier today.

Update about the lanyards - If you want a lanyard please post on the thread at www.shipofthieves.com I will be unable over the next 15 months to keep up and read each and every post on this thread and I wouldn't want to miss anyone's request for a lanyard. Since it will be on one thread at www.shipofthieves.com it will be easy to track -- also important since the actually ordering will not be for a year or more.

If someone else wants to organize the lanyards that's fine too.

Fiona
did I miss the lanyard pic?:confused3

Hi Fiona,

I would be very greatful to let you organize the lanyard orders. It sounds like you know what you're doing and since I do not, I'm very thankful that you're willing to do it. If you need any help or assistance along the way, feel free to call on me. I'll go add my name to your thread now. Thanks.:flower3:

best,
deb

I am so thrilled to be on this cruise - I can't tell you how much! Well, you are probably all thinking the same really!:rotfl: We weren't even thinking of a cruise before I saw the announcement of the Repositioning cruises. If I hadn't found this thread and learned all about booking on that first day I would have waited and waited and lost!

I am sure there will be some free cabins later, particularly when it comes to paying off the balance.

It is also great to have found this group - it has made everything even more exciting.

I would not have gotten in either if it had not been for these boards. Can't Wait Can't Wait Cant Wait!!!

Another day with no school in Fairfax County VA.....that will mean a 6 day weekend. The kids are supposed to be off Monday and we were all thinking they would send the kids to school Monday, but they have already announced that it will NOT be a School Day.

More snow for Saturday and then again on Tuesday.....It is just too cold here.

For all you guys who clicked the www.bethanycam.com link during the noreaster....look today. Looks like you could take your beach chair out and get a suntan. Besides the fact that it is 17 degrees!!

We passed right by there yesterday on our way down to Virginia Beach from PA. It's the calm after the storm. It's so sunny and bright, but beware because the temperature is deceiving. We're on the waterfront now and the wind is strong, making the temperature feel even lower. It's biting cold.

Where oh where is my deck off of stateroom 5122 (our favorite if we can get it) sailing through the carribbean down to barbados where I was actually touching and swimming with sea turtles....

...a far away memory on a cold day like today...

Another thought. Today is my DH's birthday. While on my quick 3 day cruise last month, I bought him a TAG watch in Nassua. I can't believe I could wait till today to give it to him, but I did!! He loved it!!

Does it have Mickey on it??? I bought DH a mickey watch in Oct. at World. It has Mickey on it and it's his favorite.

What did you do in Nassua last month? I'm going on a 4 day Halloween this Oct. with the WHOLE family. Taking 3 staterooms. We want to get onto the Atlantis property and do everything they have there. I understand that you have to book a room. Did you do that?

Happy Birthday DH :wizard:

Those Lanyards are really cool . . . how about Lime Green material for the Lanyard?

BTW . . . we would be more than willing to help or contribute.

Us too, oh I just LOVE:cloud9: the Kingdom to Kingdom one - those fonts are awesome!

OMG - DCL really does operate with shoe boxes!!! I just called the CC dept and talked to the same guy that I spoke with last week. And yes, he did remember my request and looked it all up and saw that it had been 'processed'...what does that really mean in DCL speak?

That someone has printed out the list and now has to enter the information into another system to print out mailing labels to go with everything. Oh and they are redoing the whole CC system and come April/May of this year, everyone will be getting a new package with new cards and probably new numbers. But don't worry because it is all noted internally and should not affect your ability to do your reservations online at 90 days out.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yeah, sure right, uh huh... to be continued...popcorn::

Can you say thank goodness we are not sailing for another year so we have time to get this mess straightened out before hand? Maybe what we really need to do is take up a collection and upgrade DCL from shoe boxes to rubbermaid containers and get one of our techie friends to create a mail merge program for them? Watcha think???? :rolleyes1

I am already scared, do you think a year out will be enough time for DCL to straighten out all the CC snafu's?

We are going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure before this cruise because we haven't been there is so long.

We went there earlier this month - had never been - and you must must must do The Mummy. That was a killer ride.

Raining. It's Oregon and it's between Oct and June, it must be raining. :sad2:

That is so true. It's raining here in Eugene today, too.:rolleyes1

No, it does not have Mickey on it. He would kill me if I got him a Mickey watch. He already thinks I am totally crazy anyway.

Tag is a divers watch, on the scale of Rolex. He has wanted one for a very long time, but I could never justify it. But getting it in Nassua saved a lot.

I stayed on the ship in Nassua...except to shop for the watch. I loved the empty ship...and I rested. I really needed the rest.

I'm having a hard time keeping up to date on the diff websites - anyone else having this problem?? Why does work have to get in the way of my DISing??? :rotfl: (o yeah---I'm trying to pay for this cruise, I forgot).

I can talk about this all day. I was about 5 when I started allergy shots. I was allergic to everything just like your DS. I had the grid testing on my back MANY times--lots of fun. :sad2: At the time we lived in NY and eventually moved to TX and then CA. Getting out of the NY weather made a huge difference and I did the best in CA. Getting rid of our cat and dog made a huge difference. It was really tough on me, but I was a different person once they were out of the house. My mom tried keeping them in the basement...didn't make much of a difference. Then she got rid of the dog, didn't help...I hate to say this but once the cat was gone I was MUCH better and the doctor said it probably saved me from getting asthma. She had someone come in and clean weekly, in addition to her cleaning. For the dustmites, my pillowcases and mattresses (box and upper) were encased in a special allergy cover. She washed my bedding weekly in HOT water, took the carpet out of my room (the floors were wood under) and just kept my room the cleanest. She took the curtains out of my room, wallpaper too. It all helped. She gave me my allergy shots weekly (yes, she did it herself). I took shots for 7 years (until I was 12) and I'm happy to report at 41 I'm still allergy free. No asthma or eczema...but I do get sneezy, tight throat, itchy eyes, etc. around cats. Can't touch them. The doctor said their dander is what gets to me, it's very fine. It's a long tough process but I commend my mom for sticking (no pun intended) it through because I'm a very healthy woman today. Good luck, I know how hard it is!!!

Wow. Sounds like you had it worse than my son does. So far, the dr. doesn't want to go with the allergy shots, thank goodness. His allergies are very much under control with his medication. His pediatrician finally referred us to an allergist just this month because we've been having to give DS his meds daily whereas it used to be just a seasonal thing. I knew something was up and was just hoping it wasn't the cats. DS9 is super-sad the cats can't sleep with him anymore (the boys share a room). He'll be devastated if we have to find a new home for our kitties. :sad1: I'm glad to hear you are allergy-free now. Hoping that DS will grow out of it as well. He's had eczema since birth, and now allergies. We are trying to avoid the asthma, which as you probably know, comes hand-in-hand with the previous two maladies much of the time. Thanks for the support.

Those are outstanding! What a wonderful job he did.:thumbsup2 Is he a graphic artist?

Ken is an accountant! He does a great job designing the lanyards.

For those of you that were on the last repo... Did you request DCL DVD, and did it contain info on the PC cruises?

No, it did not have any info on the DVC for the PC cruises.

:grouphug: for your son! DD hated those tests!!! Zyrtech is our new favorite drug!

We love Zyrtech. DS's only symptom is usually nasal congestion, no sneezing or red, itchy eyes. Between the Zyrtech and Nasonex, he is usually set.

Went through the testing when I was about 18, just a couple of years (decades) ago! I was so allergic that they had to stop the tests and give me a shot of benadryl in my touchie!

They basically said that I was allergic to everything that blooms in Northern California as well as dustmites, pet hair, etc.

Suffered terribly for years until Claritin and Nasacort Nasal spray came along. I definetly don't have as many issues now.

We have a cat and I have a couple of suggestions in addition to not letting the cats in the bedroom. Try to get them out of the habit of being on any furniture. Pet stores carry electro-static pads called "purr pads" that help pull the loose cat hair away from other things. We have gotten our cat accustomed to being brushed on these and it helps keep her hair from other places in the house.

Always, always, always wash your hands after petting or touching the cat. This has helped me tremendously. If I don't do it my eyes get itchy and I get sneezy.

Best of luck!!

Karen, wife of been2marceline

Thanks for the suggestions. Our cats have ruled the house, so some changes will be in order. Although I've never had much luck getting a cat to do anything.:rotfl:

I had just about this same story. I took shots from the time I was 7 till I was 18. My doctor lived 2 doors up from us and I would babysit his 7 kids (from the time I was 11) mostly with the mom there and he would give me the shots for free. They really worked and as I sit here today, I am allergy free. We have 3 cats and a dog.

I'm so glad to hear about everyone who is allergy-free now. Gives me hope.:thumbsup2

I'm so proud. I used my multi-quote function for the first time. Thanks to everyone for their support and suggestions. I need to get busy on the house-cleaning now. Ugh.:sad2:

Wow, I have been lurking on the EB thread for about 15 minutes, and they are talking about sizes of their weapons (they're pirates, after all)pirate: and booze and whatnot. They can't shut up!:rotfl: It's great though, they did 100 posts in about 45 minutes. That's just nutty. I'm lurking, 'cause I'm going for post number 23553. We'll see if I can sneek in there.

I can't believe you are a bean counter, most of them that I know really don't have a sense of humor... you must be the life of the party at conventions!

Yes, people joke that it is interesting to meet someone in my profession who is not 'humor impared' :lmao: :lmao:

Good Morning everyone!

Just a moment to say that the Lanyards are amazing!! Sign me up!!

Getting the cold weather clothes ready to pack (all that I have....will have to buy some sweatshirts)....waiting for the call from my sister to let me know my niece was born (they were starting to induce her at 730a this morning).

Work has been super busy so haven't had much time to read during the day. Hopefully today will be better - have to have my DIS fix!

Have a great day!
is the baby here yet? what's her name? how exciting, I was bummed, I was actually at WDW on my CP when my niece was born, but I met her soon after!!

We are back from our little Wonder get away. We had a great time! :cool1: The weather gave us a little trouble for one day, it was raining in Nassua. It didn't stop my girls, they kept right on swimming!

:cheer2: While on board we rebooked for the 14 day transatlantic repo cruise in May 2007!:cheer2:

I have to go and work on the laundry :laundy: and dream about or next cruise! I will try and catch up on the posts over the weekend!

OMGosh - so you are leaving again in 90 days? How are you dealing with the airfare. My GF is a TA and we were looking at it and could afford the cruise, but not the airfare!!

Laura

Anyone out there who has done a 3 or 4 night cruise to Nassau and went on property at Atlantis? We're doing it with the family this Halloween and would like some help geting info on what the best way to do this would be. Do we need to get a room at the hotel? I've heard that Disney excursions don't let you access every area at Atlantis!?!

The other cruise thread is only 5 pages and no one seems to know. So I'm asking here because DISers Know Best!

Thanks.

Ok, I have been playing with the idea of doing the Med repo in May because the rates are sooooo cheap, but the airfare was horrible. Well, the prices have dropped and what it comes down to, is that for $2300 including the cruise, airfare and tips my girlfriend and I could do a cat 12 on the Med repo!!! Am I crazy? I can get the vacation time and do my Alaska cruise at the end of June too. What do you think? :confused3
