Hmmm... tuxes and dresses and oh my. I do not want to do laundry on the ship (again - I have never NOT done laundry on the ship) but I can't even imagine packing for the two of us in under four bags for two weeks. Have ya'll heard about some of the airlines limiting your checked bags to one per person!?!? I guess we're gonna' really go "all out" for the formal nights and such, huh? Mekayla and I always wear nice dresses on formal night, but I have only done the "beadded gown" thing once, and frankly it was a lot of stress and hassle worrying about "the gown" in transit. Is it wrong to not want to get all dolled up? Are the expectations higher since this is a longer (more ) cruise? Am I being a dork?

We both like to get all dolled up. I have only heard that British Airways have limited bags to 1 each, but they expected that others might follow suit. I guess I don't understand how that is going to change their bottom line.

I don't blame you. I am not looking forward to having to get all dressed up. Plus spending money on dresses I will never wear again.

This will be the 7th cruise that I have worn my dresses, that I bought on super sale after Christmas, so I guess I have gotten my money's worth. We have been on 3 4 day cruises and I also wore the semi formal little black dress on those as well. Maybe it is that I missed prom (DrHug was in VietNam prom night and we were married so I could not go without him), but we like getting all cleaned up!

Yup, I agree. We're having the coldest Valentine's Day in 44 years! But it didn't stop me from going out to have lunch with my DH. I can't remember the last time we had lunch together on a weekday. It was really nice. We spent some time talking about the cruise. And he said "I wish we were going on our cruise today."

I made him chocolate chip cookies and he gave me a Mickey/Pluto VDay card. It's our 23rd VDay together so we figured out long ago that it's the little things that make us happy.

I am not one to worry about formal nights. Like I've said before...don't want to buy it, don't want to pack it, don't want to wear it. Topsider's is very nice for dinner when we don't feel like dressing up. I will be packing very light and just do a couple loads of laundry.

On our cruise last month...can't believe it's been a month...we had very low expectations (shhh..it was a Carnival cruise) so I packed light (three bags there, four home) and we skipped Formal Night in the restaurant alltogether! We had a BLAST! Just shorts and bathing suits. I think if we decide to "go light" we'll skip the formals...oh wait...Palo. Hmmm. Guess one dress will HAVE to come with, I am not giving up Palo.

Hmmmm. There goes the "no dress" arguement. Well, there will definately be no "beadded" dress - that was a nightmare. I am looking forward to the DoD Laundry party with you, Donna!

This is totally off topic

We are getting a Noreaster here on the East Coast. I do not know if you have ever seen the power of a Noreaster. Winds are like a hurricane. Anyway, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is closed as an 18-wheeler truck overturned on the bridge from the storm right now.

We cross the bridge a lot to go to our second home in Bethany Beach DE. This webcam shows you live the ocean (about 1 block from our house). The ocean looks so angry this morning!

We live in the Pocono Mnts. but we're traveling to Virginia Beach tomorrow. Sure hope the bridge is back in operation because we'll be on it.

We're traveling through the Delmarva penninsula on 13 because we're stopping to see some land that we own in Laurel which is about 15 minutes from Bethany Beach....it's a small world after all!!!!

Well, hello everyone! I would love to get to know you all better but have pretty much given up. I just can't keep up with you all. Since this is only my third post in over 300 pages I am guessing that maybe I will be posting about every hundred pages or so.

We are so snowed in here! We have gotten at least a foot and a half since yesterday. Call me crazy but I LOVE the snow. It is beautiful. Since DD is home from work today I will not have to babysit DGD's all day and may be able to post a bit. We will see...

I've been reading this thread for a while...Like my tag says, I'm a bit of a lurker. I figured I'd post, and let you get to know us.

It will just be DW and I, we do not have kids. (We do sometimes act like kids).
We will be linked with our regular cruise buddies (our best friends which we usually only see on vacation).

We are very excited about the repo cruise, but there is a chance we may have to change cruise plans before then. But for now we are in!!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone,

Not doing anything special. I told my DH that he got me the best Valentines present by signing up for this cruise. Don't need anything else.

Weather has been nasty here. 4 inches of snow, 1 inch of ice and another half inch to inch of snow on top of that. A regular parfeit of weather. Would much rather have the snow than the ice. DH was in and out for hours today trying to get the driveway clear. Tonight they have a Wind Chill Advisary out. My sympathies to those on the east coast getting it today. I am soooo ready for this cruise and I still have over a year.

I was hoping someone would come up with lanyards. One of the guys on our SC cruise had them done with 11 nights in Paradise on them and then designed name tags for everyone to go in them. It not only was great for our KTTW cards but with our DIS names and given names on the name tags it made it real easy to find and get to know each other. He ordered the lanyards and made the name tags and several people got together and shared the cost so that they could be given as gifts to the other Dis cruisers. That way everyone had one.

I wear formals for formal nights and DH wears dress clothes because we don't get to dress up that often and enjoy doing so. Besides, I found 1 formal for $15 and another for $12.95 just before the last cruise and intend to get my money out of them. Mommaluvsdis, who is linking with us, and her husband don't like to dress up so they don't. It is strickly up to the individual. They will not kick you out of the dinning room for wearing regular

I don't dress up....we have been on a lot of cruises (both DCL and others) and I just wear a church dress. I don't feel very comfortable in real dress up clothes....heck, my wedding dress wasn't even all that fancy. I have never felt out of place!

I love the bethanycam.... look at it in a few days and you will see the beautiful sunny beach!!

Will you be going over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge or the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.....or maybe both in your travels.

Will you be planning on building in Laurel someday? My brother was the mayor in South Bethany Beach for years!! If you ever decide to build.....remember they do not call it "Slower, Lower, Delaware" for nothing!!

I'm dealing w/ the reprocusions (can't spell) of the weather too - even here in Sunny Orlando.....I'm a corporate travel agent and have people stranded left and right! On hold w/ the airlines for a long time just trying to see if they've been reaccommodated on anything else.

I'd be interested in the lanyards/tags/t shirts (no clue how to make them tho!). Need help from anyone/everyone.

Love the 2 other websites, but have hardly had a moment to go over there and look at them.

Hello all and a very Happy V Day!!

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe....we are loving today's weather here...in the 70's!!

...we're cooking filets, aspargus, mashed potatoes and I am going to whip out the fondue pot for chocolate fondue with strawberries and pineapple for dessert. Yum!

Both girls had a V Day party so I am sure they will be beyond sugared up ===== lovely....

I'm up for Tues afternoon too, plus a couple more days because we'll have so much fun getting to know each other while playing on Tues, you know we'll all want to do it a couple more times! Also agree with $10.

I also would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. DH and are going to dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary.This morning on our way to work we stop at our local country radio station to renew our vows. The station does a drive thru wedding chapel every year. With as suprise wedding gift of $20.00.

We are so excited for this cruise and I have been hoping I would get to do it since they first did the repo cruise a few years ago. I have only been on 1 other cruise...a 3 day disney cruise in october 2005. We are DVC members and tend to just stay at the world instead of cruising but I cannot wait for this cruise.

Most people would like to play the first Tuesday afternoon (isn't great that we will have 2 Tuesdays on the ship!!) at 3:00. It has been suggested that Monday would most likely the the Formal night. The ante seems to be $10.00. Looks like we will need 7 or 8 tables.

Many have asked for a second round of Bunco. I will be happy to do the first round of Baby Bunko prizes....if someone wants to set up the second round, then we could do a second game another day!!
