He might have the same thing. His breathing was really labored and his chest was just rattling. DH took him to the doctor this morning and his pediatrician was really glad we brought him in. He said it was definitely viral and actually thinks it may be caused by the Flumist he gave him last Friday. Dr. gave us a nebulizer to use 4x a day and put him on prednisone (sp?). Anyway, little guy seems much better already. The poor thing. We were trying to prevent him from getting sick, and looks like the vaccine is what is making him sick. Could all be a coincidence, too. Or he might have picked up a bug at the doctor's office last week--that always seems to happen.
The medication in the nebulizer is really having a wild side effect, though. DS is super-hyper. He wouldn't shut-up all during dinner. And at bedtime, he said his brain was moving really fast. I tell you, the kid is tripping. :hippie:

Just a warning about your kid on prednisone and the nebulizer. They are basically giving him steroids and speed. Be prepared for a kid who will be wound up and not able to sleep, have possibly really funky nightmares/dreams (we refer to them as Salvador Dahle dreams) when he does sleep and possible behavior problems because it seems to affect their ability to self control. And did I mention moody???

Just trying to give you a heads up

I hope it is OK . . . I did it right away . . .

Royalty fees required?

(tired of seeing all of those "Captain Jack Reposession Logos" LOL)

Aye-aye, Captain Spanx! I'll follow your lead. :thumbsup2

Regarding the door signs, I can have Katie make up the logo without the wording and you could add your own. Or she could add whatever you like and I can email the results for you to print out. :thumbsup2

Maybe we could have the logo with and without wording posted on the website when it's up and running. Or put the two different versions on page 1 of the thread for everyone to copy for their own door signs, etc. I'm not sure we want to volunteer Katie for customizing the artwork for everyone. You have seen the size of this thread, haven't you? :lmao:

You sound like someone who knows from experience! The first time I had a treatment and they gave me a steriod I thought I was having some kind of mental breakdown! And I was STARVING!!!

Thanks. He was definitely a different kid tonight. Oldest DS always acts like that.:rotfl: I was afraid DS6 wouldn't sleep, but he did fall asleep at his regular time. DH got online and researched the side effects of the meds he's taking. It said it caused exciteability (sp?) in about 20% of kids and insomnia in a smaller percentage. I think excitable was an understatement. We'll see how he sleeps tonight, whether we have difficulty with nightmares.

That would be the prednisone causing that.

::yes:: Good advice. This is exactly what this stuff can do.

Oh yeah, forgot that part...eat you out of house and home...it is that whole thing revs up their hunger center and they will eat like mad...which if they have been really sick and lost some weight could be a good thing...just watch it because mine would want to over eat and make herself sick. It was like the signal to her brain that her stomache was full kept shorting out

I copied the logo and added it to my signature, but it shrunk. There's a note in the window where I browse/select artwork for my signature that says the max I'm allowed is 500x100 pixels. But I thought the limit was 200 pixels in height or width. Anyway, it automatically was resized to 250x100 pixels. Looks ok, but was wondering if there's anyway to change it.

I'll keep an eye on that, too. He's supposed to take the prednisone for 5 days, so hopefully this will all be short-lived.

off to bed...feeling a little sickly...need airborne and zicam before bed. Take care tonight and chat tomorrow..

Oh no roll call updates, or round ups or info changes...it has been a very quiet day and night here...

Didn't do that to me . . . wonder if I am illegal?

Hope it is OK too . . . I cropped some of the white space on either side and reposted it in my album on photobucket. I just copied the URL and pasted it in my sig :confused3

Anyhow, I HAVE to get to bed and get some sleep - first week back after vacation and I have been really tired every morning.

Captain Spanx, signing off and handing it off to all you West Coasters and Holly the night owl.

Don't know, but I just right-clicked on Bananaman's logo, copied and pasted into my signature and it turned out as you see it. But I'm trying to make it smaller because I'd hate to get the mods mad and have them just remove my whole sig.

Oh, poor little guy! Prednisone used to make our oldest CRABBY!! And, the albuterol in the nebulizer made him SPAZZY! But, at least, he could breathe...Oh, and our experience was that the first couple days were the worst for the crabbies, if that helps.

Hang in there....

Carolyn

Hey, thanks! I always wanted a cool handle like you! "Holly the night owl" ... I like it!

Here's a smaller one:

But I think it is too small . . .

Photobucket lets you save in different sizes.
