Sorry to hear about all the illnesses. I hope everyone is on the mend.

Thanks to whoever recommended "The Path Between the Seas". It's a great book, I'm not quite done yet, but I recommend it. :thumbsup2

While I was at the library I also picked up a 3rd edition of Passporter. It has info on excursions from the first PC cruise. I'm sure they may change and the prices will go up but it gives you an idea of what was available.

Still no word on Sean. He's single, so no wife to contact. All of our other contacts have just arrived in Iraq and we hate to bother them.

I guess the good news is, that if they new we would have heard by now.

Still trying to get caught up. About 20 pages worth. :surfweb:

Regarding door magnets, Walmart is carrying the 8 1/2 x 11 sheets again. They were 5 for $7.39 here. They are made by Avery.

Fish Extender info. I will be sending PJ a couple of articles about how the original fish extenders came to be and how I came to make mine and she is going to put them on the web site for me. Also, for those of you who would like to try making your own I will try and put together some instructions and have her put those on the web site also. This might take me a little longer since I do not use a written pattern but will get them on as soon as possible.

Carol

Thanks very much for sharing!:goodvibes

You know, I was at the quiet cove when they did one of these contests on our cruise . . .

You weren't allowed to get your own stuff at the buffet, and you had to use sanitizing wipes all the time for fear of spreading disease, but 3 men and 3 women were all trying to suck ping pong balls out of the pool with their mouths and spit them into a bucket . . .:confused3

:lmao:
Speaking of Pool Games: I was on the Halloween cruise 2006 and was talked into playing one of the pool games. BIG MISTAKE!!! They had 6 Women and 6 Men all going under the water at the same time to retrieve different colored coins. I came up with the first 3 with no problem, on the 2nd time down I got headbutted and came up with blood trickling down my forehead,:headache: The Castmember came over to me and bandaged my head. Needless to say I won't be playing anymore pool games.

Hi!
I'm the "Designer," mom323's daughter. If you have any questions or requests PM me. I thought this would be easier then having my mom be the go-between :) .

Thanks for sharing all your great ideas! Are you going on the cruise? If so, I'd love to spend some time and have you teach/show me how you put things like those logos together.:goodvibes

Many moons ago when middle DD was about 15, she and my youngest sister (age 16) participated in a pool game to see who could stuff the most ping pong balls into their bathing suit top. DD won with about 30 and sister was second with about 25. Both are well endowed, swimmers and could hold their breath. Believe me it was a sight never to be forgotten!!

I don´t know how they are called in the US, but these dominoes go to 12 or 15 dots per piece, and about 8 to 10 people can play.

No pun intended here, but we play with our kids and spouses all the time and we call it Mexican Train. It is a blast!

I'm just now learning to play a domino game that my friends call "Mexican Train". The dominoes go up to 12 and there's a plastic piece that goes in the center of the table that has a train on top (looks kind of like a little mountain) and then cut-outs around it. You build on your own and others' "trains" like regular dominoes. Is it the same as what you're talking about?

It's fun, but I couldn't play it on my own--I need to play with people who really know the rules. Of course, I DO have 15 months to learn, don't I?;)

Okay, glad someone else knows about Mexican Train also. The one thing we have found out about the rules is that everyone plays differently. When my parents come they play totally different than the kids do. And they are the "experts" (so they say) since they play it at least once or twice a week. (guess that's what they do since they are retired)

My mom even has a train for the centerpiece and you actually touch the top and the train whistle blows. Choo-choo, choo-choo. it can get pretty irritating, to say the least.

DH, he just puts up with the whole game playing thing. He will play, but I have to drag him into it!

Evening all!!! Trying to get caught up!! We like Skip bo as well....(I think someone mentioned that) and I am definitely going to pick up The Path Between the Seas...sounds great! Hope everyone who is sick starts feeling better soon!

That sounds just like the centerpiece a couple of my friends have! And yes, we all agree that it goes from cute to irritating in about 2.5 seconds.

I've also found out about the different rules thing, too, even though I've only played a couple of times. It's a little confusing when you're just learning, to have the rules change! But by May 08 I should have it down.

Does anyone play Bunco? We had couples Valentine Bunco tonight...we let the guys come!!

It was very fun...although I would not want the guys there every night! My husband won a Baby Bunco!!

I, of course, won nothing!!

I love Bunko!!!! We play every month. It is my one night out a month! DH hates the couples one, we really have to stop doing that.

Hey Guys,

We were thinking, if you really don't mind we would like to charge $25 plus $5 shipping. It would be nice to make a little for our time and effort.:confused3

I don't think you understand how much someone like me is willing to pay to not sew. Let me just tell you that I threw my last sewing project (high school class) in the garbage and my mother had to sew another so I would not fail. I am not good at sewing. When DD was little, I walked into the local fabric shop and pretty much yelled across the store "anyone want to make some extra money?". Charge me 30, 35, 40 ... really, just don't make me do it. HOWEVER, if you need someone to analyze the cost and do a financial forecast, no problem!

Ok, that is tooo funny. Because I do the finacial analysis and then I figure out how to sew the costumes for the high school production up on the cheap!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kim, you buy the shirt then send it to someone who know what they are doing and they send it back, voila!

Skip Bo is a fun card game by the makers of Uno!!! It is fun for adults and kids alike! I am so up for a game of Skip Bo and DOD by the pool...

Oh, me too! Sounds like fun. Reminds me of years ago when I worked part-time on the night shift, only worked half a week on nights so my friend that also worked with me and I would spend every Wed morning trying to get turned around to days for the rest of the week. We'd go home in the morning and play backgammon and drink vermouth (ach!). Well, it's sort of the same, except different game and without the ship, and the pool :rotfl:
