I know i don't talk as much as others and i don't know everyones name but i need some help. My grandfather had a 2nd stroke in 2 months and they aren't forcasting that his chances are all that great.

Could i ask that you send some good thoughts his way that he either isn't as serious as they say or if he is that he passes without too much pain?

Thanks in advance.

Certainly! Prayers coming his way. Please keep us posted.

So I'M not elleenchanted I would be "Grumpy John" you know, the lost hubby. This is my first time posting but I have been watching over her shoulder for weeks. I heard that called lurking but I think I prefer "SKULKING" after all this is a pirate outing. I look forward to this cruise more each day and can't wait to meet all our new friends. :offtopic:

Okay, The next six extenders were sent out priority mail today. :thumbsup2 Monica (mishoe01), Kari (txSleepingBeauty), Kim (kimerinc), Lisa (disneylover5), Karen (been2marceline) and Venetia (tink1963), be looking for yours soon. The next six probably will not go out now until next Wednesday. I am taking today and the weekend off from sewing to do some other things that need to be done around here but haven't wanted to do them.:sad2: :goodvibes

Thanks to those that have had to put up with some of my slip ups for understanding. They will all be taken care of today (I hope).

Carol

Gosh, I havent been on all week. My poor dd is not recovering well from her tonsillectomy, has been back in the hospital twice for IV fluids.

I am so far behind in what is going on with this thread, but would love to be part of a team for whatever, if there is still room somewhere:goodvibes We have never done fish extenders or fish mail but would LOVE to participate.

Finally a day off and am going to take my three youngest to the post office to get passports. Have been doing birth certificates only for them past couple cruises and now finally ready to just plunk down the money and get it over with.

Never done any of the martini or wine tastings, just never had the time. Sound like fun though.

I am getting so excited about this cruise that it is kind of taking the excitement away from the cruises I have planned prior to this one.:lmao:

Hope that everyone has exciting plans for the weekend!!

Just pm Calmom to be put on a team or ask to lead a team. There's plenty of room for all.

Hi,

I am new to the boards. My wife and I are going on the May 2008 WB Repo Cruise, which is our first Disney Cruise and our very first cruise without our children or other friends and are hoping we'll meet other couples to hang out with on the cruise.

Welcome! And congratulations....I know some day I'll be able to vacation without my kids! :rotfl:

There seem to be a lot of couples traveling without kids this cruise and I know you'll meet many right here before we sail!!!

 Hi John....we welcome you from behind skulking mode pirate: (you were just being a good pirate, right)!

Hi John. I don't believe the 'Grumpy' at all!!! My John is also Grumpy, but I don't think he will be posting. There are a few Johns onboard, somewhere early on on this thread someone put a list, and I guess there may be some more since.

Did we ever decide if we were going to do a DL meet on May 21 or 22, 2007? If so, which date and where?

Noel

seaulater - thanks for doing the mini-navigators.....hope I can keep mine in decent shape for the scrapbook (or can I possibly sneak a 2nd copy out of you ;) )

I tend to have some extras, so just let me know once we are at the DCL terminal.

Just a bunion removal on my foot. But the Dr. has me on crutches for a couple of weeks. It's really slow going trying to crutch around the world.

You should get a wheelchair and make someone push you around like royalty!

Just a bunion removal on my foot. But the Dr. has me on crutches for a couple of weeks. It's really slow going trying to crutch around the world.

I feel your pain! (literally) I had 2 bunions removed from my left foot a few years ago and I was still teaching at the time. Crutching around school was a drag.

But even worse was when I broke 2 bones in my right foot and had to have surgery to repair them. I went on my first Disney cruise (8/04) not being able to put any weight on that foot so I either had to crutch it or wheel myself around in a wheel chair (forget being pushed like royality--I was with my two sisters, one of whom had her 5 yr old son to take care of and the other had a broken foot, too!)

Wheeling myself around the ship was a very enlightening experience. First of all, it's very taxing and I ended up really tweaking muscles in my back and chest. Secondly, I had accessability problems with the door thresholds because they were raised and I had a heck of a time wheeling myself over them. Kind strangers and cast members came to my aid most, but not all of the time. Only certain bathrooms were accessable. Plus, I saw everything from down low. There were many times I didn't partake of activities because it was just too much of a hassle (or I was too tired) to figure out how to get myself to them.

Don't get me wrong, I still had a great time. (As my sister said when I told her I thought I should cancel, "You can sit in a deck chair just the same as you would sit at home, Cheri!" She was right.) I went to the spa a lot!;) The food tasted just as good and the shows were just as entertaining (although my choice of seats was limited, unless I was crutching).

But I gained a perspective for what it's like for the handicapped. I was very aware that my condition was temporary instead of permanent, which I thought about a lot. That lesson was a gift from the situation.
