What a stinker.:sad2: Hopefully he treats the next person with more respect.

I've been driving since I was 16 and have had no tickets as well. I 've never even been stopped. KNOCKING ON WOOD REAL LOUD!!!!!!

No tickets - but I have been stopped once. It was quite the experience.

Driving home from work I was sitting at a red light - first car. The light turned and next thing I know a cop car has pulled out from behind other cars and drove over a median strip with lights flashing I pulled over figuring he'd keep right on going past me. Nope - he pulls over behind, opens his door and aims a gun at my car :scared1: and starts yelling for me to put my hands out the window. My best friend was in the car behind me - she pulled into a parking lot and called her father from a payphone (he happened at the time to be chief of police in the town I lived in :thumbsup2 ).

Several more police cars pull up and surround my car while the first cop comes and opens the door for me to get out. By now the police are calming down - turns out there was a purse snatching about an hour earlier committed by a guy in older camaro in good condition. I actually stated laughing when they got to that part of the description. My camaro was a 73 (this was 87) with one fender in a different color, gouges down the passenger side and no grill - hardly good condition.

They apologized and let me go, we laugh about it now but it was a pretty scary few minutes.

well I am bummed...I went shopping on my lunch and I am just plain fat. You guys will have to suffer seeing me stuffed into a bikini as that is all I have and I refuse to spend any more money on a swimsuit. I ended up not getting anything. I had to restrain myself from going to the kids dept and blowing my gift card.

Oh, my dear girl! You will be lovely, and having such a great time and then you will look at all us OLD, FAT laties, and you will forget all about everything, except having fun!

Well, I'm off to our Spring Event! We are giving our the bonuses for 2007 performance today and I'm so excited to get my nice big bonus!!! It makes it worth all the hassles I deal with every day. We're taking our OBC from this bonus and I'm so happy about it! It was perfect timing for us! I love free money!!!

Congrats!

wow we certainly are working our way right to the next thread.
Holly that is great about flying, I hate the drive from here to Orlando, I couldn't imagine more!!
It was 49 this am....very windy so it seemed colder! Can't wait to be in hot weather!

In the 80's here today :thumbsup2

OK, now I'm really confused. I know you cannot take off any fresh food. But what is wrong with packing rum cakes and liquor?:confused3 Surely DCL wants to make all the sales they can. It would be quite a hassle to carry these items off and have to safely repack breakables. And how would they know what you pack in your luggage going off the ship? Are they going to x-ray or open every suitcase? They sell these things so why would they expect you not to pack them? This makes no sense...

In the past it's always been no open food and no fruits or vegetables. We've carried/packed snacks and candy that were still closed off before.

who was it that got refunded from Frointer? I called to cancel and they are telling me the can't cancel until 30 days out? Any thoughts?

I canceled Frontier when they changed my flight times by 45 minutes. I canceled on March 3 (I think - know it was a Sunday). Had the refund in 3 days.

I rebooked that same flight but for the current pricce which was $42 cheaper each.

Pm me some extra details, this is the hyatt meet, right, and I will add it to the Calendar and the DIS meets page of the website, I will even try to figure out a map of some kind, so details on the location would be good.

PJ

Jackie can you get the details to PJ or do you want me too? PJ, yes it is the Hyatt Meet and I marked it on the google map.

Carol

You know it seems like whenever I get a gift card MOST of the time I spend it on the kids and not myself. My family is on to this and now I get gift cards to the salon and spa or places like Pottery Barn. Funny thing is those are not safe either as my daughter goes to the same spa for her hair and nails and has all Pottery Barn kids furniture :rotfl: Oh well I suppose I spend all my own cash on them why not my gifts too.

I can certainly understand how frustrated you might be feeling, but I encourage you to be kind to yourself too.

Think about how many people care about you, hold you in esteem and value you. Do you think they're all wrong?

Positive self-talk is extremely important. It helps motivate us.

I always tell members to think about doing a task, or meeting a past life challenge ... did it happen because someone was standing there saying to you "Come on! I know you can fail! Reach deep down inside and get in touch with the failure that you truly are!"

No, I think we respond much better to positive encouragement.

I don't think that any of us would dare to talk to other people, the way we allow that inner voice to talk to ourselves.

The great thing about time is that with the movement of the second hand, every moment we get a new moment and a new opportunity to change.

I know people say its overrated but John really wants to eat at Blue Bayou. Ok, off to downstairs to try and help someone reconcile.

Hey I usually eat there every trip and the steak has always been great! Not true "fine dining" at least up to my standards for that but then again in the Napa Valley the standards are set really high. However for DL it is really good and the kids like being inside the ride. :thumbsup2

I think some prices are much less. When we eat out in North Dakota (when visiting Paul's family) it's much cheaper. The cost to prepare things are less, because the wages are less. Therefore daycare is much less. It is a reallity check from where we are in CA. The Bay Area is one of the most expensive places to live. But, we also have great weather, I couldn't do the snow either.

Yes, all of our relatives come here and are overwhelmed with the prices of everything. My SIL is an art teacher with a master's degree in SC and makes $40K (top end salary) to teach 7 classes per day 800 kids per week - but there house only costs $80K. Out here teachers make anywhere from $65-110K for a little less than that level of work, but the houses start at $500K. So, if you want to eat, insurance, drive a car etc. Boy you need to watch your money.

We're not that warm, but it did get nice. Man your story about the cops scared me, I thought it happened this morning and then I went back and read the beginning. EEEKKK I used to have 2 camaro's as well and a cat named camaro.

Boy, did this post jump out at me!

Not only am I doing a lecture on this subject next week (about teaching parents to teach their kids positive inner voice language at a young age as prevention for preteen and teenage years), but I've narrowed this down as my choice for my dissertation as well.

Very nice words, Ian.:)

Kaylee, I heard on the radio this morning that we may have snow down to 500 feet Wed and Thursday! :scared1: Is it the same up north?

Yikes, I haven't heard that Angie...but I wouldn't be surprised, better go check the weather now. We live around 1000 feet so that would mean snow for us!
