OH YEAH! It takes $500/month off my plate! :yay:

Every bit counts!!!

MORE good news: I used to be a supervisor at a company that scores educational assessment tests (similar to MEAP in Michigan or WASL in Washington) and that's the only job I've ever had that I absolutely loved. I never dreaded going into work. Loved it! But when I worked there, I only worked nights (6-10pm) because Tyler was only 2 and I wasn't ready for him to be in day care full time. My roommate babysat him Mon & Tues nights and he was at his dad's the other weeknights.

When I was ready to work days, they didn't have any availability for the dayshift, and I needed more hours that the night shift could offer, so I moved on. I keep in touch with a couple fellow supervisors still. One of them e-mailed me, telling me she's now working in HR and asked if I happened to be looking to come back to work for them! Well, my pay then was a little bit less than I make now, but not enough to be a big issue (if they would pay me the same rate), and it would be more hours. I'm 32 hours at my current job (which most employers consider full-time), but this former employer is the traditional 40 hours/week, so more hours, even at the lesser pay would be more pay. So I'm thinking of applying there to try to get back in.

Do what's best for you!!! Just remember to let them know you have reservations on a flight on May 9th...;)

Holly is driving down? What happened to her fights? I thought a co worker was driving them to the airport?

Oh... we just can't keep up with Holly!!!

AND FINALLY, STILL MORE GOOD NEWS!

I have a job interview Wednesday at 8pm for a bankruptcy paralegal job! It's part time, in the evenings, and I'm hoping they're flexible enough to allow me to work Wed, Thurs, Fri evening and all day Saturday, so if I get the test scoring job, I can do both jobs for a while, just long enough to get caught up on medical bills and to get money saved to get back to law school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I interviewed with this firm back in December '04 before I got my current job and I really got along well with the people there, but they needed somebody with experience, and at that time, I'd never even worked in AN OFFICE, let alone a law office. :thumbsup2 At that time, I remember them telling me the night jobs are part-time and that they'd work my schedule around Tyler's schedule with his dad. Hopefully they'll still do the same!

I'm always surrounded by exciting turns of events! :rotfl:

PIXIE DUST!!!!! What else I can say????

As I sit here at the emergency room with Frank, I can say with some authority "getting old is hell".

I am sorry for your grandma, I will pray for her.

Boy, have I been where you are (with my mom). Not fun and not easy. I'll keep you, and all with family illness, in prayer.

Ok an update on my grandmother. She was doing better but now has fluid around her heart. She is awake and alert but still has a trache and feeding tube. She says she just wants to go home. They are taking her to another hospital this week. I spent 2 hrs visitng tonight and she didn't look good. Still keeping our hopes up though.

So Sorry for you! I hope your grandma gets better soon! Big hugs! :grouphug:

Jill Many hugs and I hipe Grandmother gets better!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Memorial Day is the day after we get off the boat. Are you sure you want to fly home that day and have a Margaritaville party the very next day???

NO... she just wants the tequilla!!! :rotfl2:

I live just a little too far from Pasadena to be a "White Suiter" but I am a member of the Burbank TOR Association. I help build the steel structure and the hydraulics animation items. I avoid the float when it is "Deco Week" due to my allergies! This started for me when I was a student at Cal Poly State Univ and worked on thier floats too.

I will never look at the Burbank float the same way again!!! I've always loved that parade... someday I will make it out to see it...

I'm impressed that you can change a tire but not surprised at all that you hate flat tires!

My brothers both made me change a tire before they would let me get my license... MOM GOT ME AAA!!!! Gotta love mom!!! :lmao:

Holly, I need some of your mojo.....congrats on all the good stuff going your way. PM me or email me for info on the hummer if you want.

So, I ran late today with my last client and was driving to get the girls when I see those awful lights behind my car :scared1: The cop pulled me over and Jaide started calling me nonstop on her cell. I told the cop I had to answer it as it was my DD and I was late to get her and he looked at me told me to sit tight and walked away. He came back with a 155.00 ticket:mad: :sad2: :sad1: :headache: When I asked if I could explain, he said no! I told him I would be speaking to his boss tomorrow (I am good friends with the chief of police) and he said who cares. I am going in just to explain how rude he was to me (he was the new hire in town). I think I should have gotten a warning considering the circumstances...my 2 kids sitting in front of the school waiting for me and that I have had no tickets in my life...but he didn't agree. Wish me luck tomorrow! Holly, send me some of that mojo!!! :thumbsup2

Whoa...NOT me! Although, I've really been on the straight and narrow lately. Too many photo radar set-ups around here.

GREAT NEWS EVERYBODY!!!!!! IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!!!! We're arriving at 7:35pm to MCO Friday, 5/9 on Southwest! IT'S BOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dancer: :jumping1::dancer: :jumping1::dancer:

Next I need to know if there's still room for 2 left in the hummerzine and I'm going to try to stay at the MCO Hyatt so we'll be right there for the Hummerzine (if there's still room).

Will figure out the rest later....have to get dinner and get Tyler to bed.

Awesome :thumbsup2

Well, I was so discombobulated after being away from home so many days that I forgot how much I paid for my LowePro backpack. I went back and checked and I'd bought it on Amazon for $59 (I was thinking $79)! I did have to pay tax, but no shipping.

Did I say how much I LOVE IT?????:lmao: :lmao: Even more, now that I realize I didn't overpay, at least by too much.

Tonight I received the first of some packing cubes I ordered (thanks to Woody and others' recommendations).

I wonder what else I'll have to get before the trip? I'm going to pass on the pink Mickey bobble-things. Now if they were lime green, I probably would have gone for them.

I don't know about the wig thing--it sounds like fun, but they're so darn uncomfortable!:confused3

Get a wig or be DISed!

. . . I was talking to a mom at the kid's school the other day that goes on Carnival and she mentioned the kids clubs. I didn't even realize other cruise lines did that. I thought it was only a Disney thing.
Alos, some cruise lines have ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, miniature golf, wave pools, and more.

I have not had a speeding ticket in 15 years...but in Orlando last week on our way back to DC I was stopped for 75 in a 55. The cop said he cut me a break and wrote me a ticket for 6 over the speed limit 82.50 dollars. Seing those blue lights in yor rear view mirror is not a good feeling.

.... there is no charge for room service, so nothing to base a 20% charge on. Also, different people bring it, so there is not one specific person you could tip at the end. They do bring a ticket that you can put the tip on and charge to your room if you want rather than having dollars handy.
We always give a cash tip.
