Hi everyone!!

Back from WDW last night and Vanessa did not RUN AWAY!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

A good time was had by all!! We did Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Magic, EPCOT and Typhoon Lagoon!! It waqs a very quick trip and I am exhausted. We drove down......and if I am not tired enough today we did DC...the Supreme Court, Capitol, White House, Jefferson Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Washington Momument, Lincoln Memorial, Library of Congress, Vietnam Wall, and WW2 Memorial. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 50 degrees.

I need to go back to work to REST!!

Tomorrow I am driving to Delaware to get my mom from my brother....that will be an all day trip.

So what have I missed?

Holly, why do you need a wig??:confused3 :confused3

Hi Lisa.....sounds like you have had such a great trip with the girls. I'm so glad everything went well this time.

The West Coast girls are up to creating some fun again. They're doing the DIS WIGS thing.....they're organizing a night where they will all wear colored wigs.....like green, blue, pink......and they're asking others to join in. Are you going to wear a pink wig and look like Brittany along with them??? Go back to last night's posts and you'll see some samples from their links.

John - Do you have Time Capsule? I've been toying with getting one to have one central backup location for the whole house for Time Machine. It would also provide another Airport, so I could move the other two around (one main and one repeater) to strengthen and better distribute the signal.

Do you have Time Capsule or thinking about it?

.

Ian . . . if you have one of the newer airport extreme base stations, no need for time capsule. You can now connect any external USB hard drive and have the same functionality. I was going to buy a time capsule, but now don't have to.

I have a bit of a complicated set up . . . I don't think you were posting here when I described it.

I have a newer Base station (square) hooked up by ethernet to a router, which is then connected to the internet. This is my 802.11n base station, and a distinct network.

I have an older base station (saucer) also connected to the router and connected to the internet. This is my 802.11g base station.

I did this because if you put them both on the same network, it slows down the 802.11n devices to 802.11g and impedes performance.

Connecting to the 802.11n network, I have my Apple TV, and my son connects his new MacBook Pro.

My MacBook, Amy's Powerbook and Sophia's iMac (connected with an airport Express) are the 802.11g devices.

All my external hard drives are connected to the new base station, and are available through either network as they are connected by ethernet through the router.

How's that for a long answer to your simple question?

I am joining the cruise with my Dad, He has always wanted to see the Panama canal and this seemed like the perfect choice to do that. I can hardly wait!!

Is there a total of Disboarders who are going to be on the ship??

Two in our group. My Prince Charming, AKA Dennis whose DIS name is DrHug, and myself. Both old folks.

SSSHHHH we won't tell!

The Birkenstocks are adorable, but too expensive! I looked at the very cute Lellie Kelly shoes today too, but I can't pay that much for a foot that grows that fast.

Sometimes Amazon has super deals on Lilli Kelly. I mean super cheap. :thumbsup2
As with all Amazon deals it is very hit or miss one shoe will have three prices depending on size and color.

hmmm, maybe I can convince John to take us out...we do have free burger coupons at Chili's!!

Dennis is working fairly nearby today (only 30 min away) so I met him for lunch. We had burgers at Ruby Tuesday. Was yummy! Now we will just have cereal for dinner. Easy for me.

no worries of snow here....the girls are wanting to swim. :)

All kinds of winter storm warnings here and throughout the midwest . . .

Amy is supposed to leave again tomorrow at 1:30 pm, fly to Detroit, and then to Tokyo. I am hoping if she gets stuck, it is HERE, and not in Detroit.

She will be in the Philippines for 18 more days . . .:sad2:

I love cereal for dinner and I love Ruby Tuesday. YUM!

I just wrote Lisa a lengthy note about the box shipping dilemma that we went through two days ago......then I deleted it by mistake before I got to post it. I don't know if I could say it all again. Does someone else want to let her know the jist of what she missed about it.

Oh John, I'm sorry it's already time for Amy to go back again. It seems like she just got home last week. :grouphug:

Welcome back Lisa!

Did you avoid EPCOT and Norway?

I hope Amy gets out safely......that's a long time for you and Sophia to be without her.....I'm sure she will be greatly missed.

Amy have a safe trip and get home soon!

Hi John, glad to see you pop in! :goodvibes

Yeah, I'm starting to feel like a stranger . . . just no time anymore. Buried at work, and too tired by the time I get home. The crazy weather has not helped either.

Next week, when Amy is gone, Sophia is on break, and is going to visit her Aunt Tammy in Toledo with Grandma. I will be all on my own.:scared1:

I am going to try and spend as much time as I can in the office to get everything caught up so that I am prepared for the cruise and won't be frantic at the end of April.

Deb, I'll repost Marr's recap from this morning about shipping boxes. It should just take a minute to find it.

Sorry the whole family is going to be split up John, but it's good to have the chance to get caught up at work before May vacation. How long will Sophia be gone for....just one week or longer?

Thanks Holly.....that's so nice for you to do. I appreciate it and it will help Lisa in case she needs to ship anything.

They take your luggage at something like 8am or so to take to the port. You just need to worry about yourself and your carry ons.

Thanks to all who answered.....lol...as soon as I read Ken's note...it all came back...trying to decide what to leave in the luggage and what to take in the carry-ons...

Popping in to say hi! Been a crazy few days, and this weekend will be more of the same. Have to go to the IL's tomorrow:headache: and my darling Scott failed to inform me that we will be there most of the day and evening:mad: UGH.

V, hope you had a great dinner....I am just waiting for the ribs to finish cooking in the crock pot (love ribs done that way, they are so tender and most of the fat has been cooked off!)

Hope all of you dealing with snow handle it ok. We had some flakes here today, but nothing will stick.

Amy, have a great time and a safe trip!

Me, Erm erm

Well, I couldn't find Marr's summary of the shipping boxes info, but found this and felt it needed to be reposted for Lisa's benefit since she missed all the wig discussion! :rotfl2:

Hi John, we have missed your daily contributions.....it's good to see you back again.

Not like the old days for me . . . just drive by postings.

Oh John, I'm sorry it's already time for Amy to go back again. It seems like she just got home last week. :grouphug:

Tell me about it. Not a great time to be leaving - day before traditional Easter. She will be back for Orthodox Easter.

Today was nuts at work. I had all sorts of problems with some of the schedules our Managers wrote. Had a problem with an employee that I almost had to fire and did not want to - I had to talk her down from what she was doing. A nearby competitor grocery store blew a transfusion (just for you V) and were out of power all day - making two of our stores crazy busy (a good problem).

I was also supposed to have a meeting today at 8:00 - my boss cancelled it and rescheduled it for 9:00 Saturday morning (of course without even asking me about rescheduling). I have to leave by 11:30 to get Amy to the airport.

The last day off I had was March 2nd.

As one of my friends would say about now, she would be playing her violin.

All of this added up to a two aleve headache, and I really could have drank a bottle of wine when I got home.
