No, it is a two seater. Not great for families, but for just the two of us, it works fine. Adrienne uses it as her day-to-day car, and I have CR-V for when we need to haul more or carry people with us.

my DH is 6' 4" and he would only need it to go the 6 some odd miles to work and back.

In order of preference:

1. Mrs Pettigrew Lives For A Day
2. Vantage Point
3. The Other Boleyn
4. Bonneville

Mrs. Pettigrew was delightful, mostly for the acting. Vantage point was interesting, though the big car chase annoyed me (was a bit long). The Other Boleyn was a little flat, but if you hadn't read the book or if you don't know a lot of details about that period in history, it may have been more enjoyable. I just wanted more from it. Bonneville was, unfortunately, a disappointment. Kathy Bates and Tom Skerritt were wonderful, Jessica Lange annoys the heck out of me (always has), don't know why. The movie was just kind of flat too.

Before Bonneville started, Peggy said "count how many times Jessica puts her hands over her lips, or flutters them at her throat". We decided you could make a drinking game out of that!

.

Jackie, I so agree with you on the Other Boleyn Girl, was disappointed after the book. And I have read several books on the time and this movie just seemed so one dimensional, and I was so excited to see it after the reading the book.

Tammy,

Just wanted to let you know that our flight is leaving LAX around 12:45 and it was set up by DCL so apparently they think we will have enough time. :thumbsup2

Carol

Carol, how long ago did they do your flights? We have our air through DCL also and we haven't be provided with that information yet.

I got a laugh out of the juice box sized ones. I pictured us all with our juice box of wine and little straws by the adult pool. :rotfl:

I have some of those juice box sized ones to bring, lol. From a label called French Rabitt. Just a couple for nights to have with beef. I have the merlot. The liquor authority here has stop stocking the tetra boxes for some reason.

There are just the two of us. I have a 1998 car now and it has only 49,000 miles on it. The problem is that time is taking it's toll, not mileage.

I only typically drive on the weekends. I take public transportation to work.

I figured that I do most of my driving within about a 5 to 8 mile radius of our house.

The big question is COSTCO? Can I go shopping and get what we typically buy at Costco in the back?

I don't remember ever having a daily news provided on DCL. :confused3

They provided a US News last summer on the Magic during the Med. cruises so we could see what was happening back home. It was real nice. We got it under our door each day

My DH has a corkscrew on his Swiss Army knife that he usually takes on all vacations - it's really handy, got all sorts of stuff on it for pretty much every eventuality.

But we read somewhere that knives aren't allowed and would be confiscated, so he's never risked taking it.

Has anyone ever taken anything similar on board? Or had a problem trying to take it onboard?

We got a note on board one cruise that they had taken a pocket knife from our luggage and we could claim it when we returned to Port Canaveral. Funny thing, we didn't pack one, and when we got back to P.C., we checked, but there was no pocket knife for our stateroom. I think they slipped the note under the wrong stateroom door.

On trip reports from the 2005 repo I read varying times that people were able to get away from the port. But I think someone very recently posted that DCL has said everyone should be disembarked by 0930.

If you're looking at a 1245 flight, you have to factor in the minimum check-in time, getting through security etc. As well as the time for the journey from the port to LAX.

It's a tricky decision. If you did miss the 1245, are there later flights you could catch? And is it a flexible ticket that would allow you to fly later, or a special price just for that flight?

I think 12:45 should be fine! We were off the ship and on our way and arrived at LAX at 11:15 a.m. and we took our time. The hold up was the luggage wasn't off the ship. People got off, luggage didn't. On a Sunday it should only take you about 20 minutes to get to LAX.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. One thing to be aware of - the 'automatic' manual throws a lot of people when they first drive it. Pretend you are driving a manual, and when you feel the engine about to shift, left of the gas for a second. That smooths out the driving quite a lot.

Adrienne has had hers for two months now, and still loves it. Linda - you'll get to see and test drive it at the store tomorrow!

YEAH! I get to see Adrienne's car! We should be at the store sometime around 12:30 or 1. We leave here at 11. Flight 1 1/2 hrs., time change, so I think we land around 11:30 your time. Rental car, drive 22 minutes, so probably 12:30. Hope to see you too Tony!

You need to get a wig and join the fun!

Wigs don't fit, I have a big head. :( I don't like my hair much and have tried to use a wig, I want long flowing hair that is not wimpy wavy. I love the times I get it straighten at the salon.

V, you know my size, width wise, and I liked it when I test drove it. I think for back and forth to work it could be a great car for John. He could even get four bags of groceries in the back and another two+ in the front is he had to.

Thanks for the info, it confirms they do confiscate knives. So DH will just have to manage without it again. Some of the little gadgets, like the one he uses for fixing his glasses, can be removed, so he can bring those separately. Whilst he appreciates the need for security regulations, he does think not being able to bring a small Swiss Army knife is a little over the top. After all, think of the number of chef's knives etc that must be used in the galleys on board.

We are making up our own theme nights. One night we will call

The Dis chicks Wig Out

So you wanna get a wig and join in. I am sure it can be reused later (or before) for something! I think they are cute. I think the pink one would be good for the Champagne girls. Now the big question should I have gotten a green one for the nanny for dinner? Hmmm might have to.

Your nanny may quit!

The big question is COSTCO? Can I go shopping and get what we typically buy at Costco in the back?

That is the key question, isn't it? :lmao:

We can fit one of our normal shopping trips, no problem. But, we don't usally buy paper goods at Costco (we do that at Target), so our load isn't usually bulky.

night michelle...hey the deadline passed, what happened?????

Still waiting on my end... doesn't mean it didn't happen...they just haven't gotten back to me... I'm on the bottom of the food chain...:lmao:

I guess I am just as bad as I have an excel spread sheet for the boys and I too. I to have been told I am anal about using spreadsheets for just about everything. I even did pivot tables for the boy's Bar Mitzvahs (costs, rsvp's, gifts, etc):cool1: Still trying to catch up again!

Me too... for everything... can't plan a trip without it.. used to write out lists, but this is so much easier and I can play around with colors and such..:rolleyes1

I can't stop laughing! If my dh wore that we would have a private ship. Everyone would jump overboard!

No...he'd be the one overboard... then we'd make CNN... and we'd be compared to Carnival...:sad2:
