I have a corkscrew in my makeup bag. I keep it there. I always use it whenever we're traveling so I'll just keep it there and put my makeup bag in my check in bags so I'll have it with me.

that is just like my passport rule, always have one with you in case you get a chance to travel or drink wine :goodvibes

I'm headed over there tonight - will check for you and let you know.

cool, but do you think Macy's in FL would have the same as Macy's in CA? If they don't I can at least have you do the touch it test for will it hold up under travel of an 8 year old rough housing boy.

This is the OFFICIAL word not hearsay ar a maybe but what we are honestly ALLOWED to do.

The owner of IDS called the Coast Guard yesterday and told them about us crazy Disney people and our desires to ship boxes of fish stuff and pirate gear. :) The problem before was the screening of our stuff. The boxes had to have a way to be screened so the Coast Guard is now going to have a dog sniff our stuff that we ship. SO WE CAN SHIP BOXES!!! The owner of IDS arranged this and seems like a very nice guy.

Now the bittersweet part.
1) We are allowed one box shipped per stateroom only.

2)It must be the size of a records box and weigh no more then about 20-25 pounds he said.

3)No alcohol in boxes.

4)No food or drinks. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

5)Label the box with your sailing vessel, sailing date, stateroom or ressie number and GTY status if you are unassigned yet.

6) make a packing list and put it in a sealed envelope and tape this to the box. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

7) If your box is hit on by the dog or choosen for addition screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail amung other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Hey one box is better then none! :flower3:

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR OUR SAILING BUT ALL SAILINGS FROM TODAY FORWARD.

So, for those on this thread not shipping, I can pay and have as many boxes shipped as I need and use their stateroom number for the receiving end.....okay all scrapbook problems solved!

I used to go to the local Curling Club, it was their Grilled Cheese after an hour on the ice that was so good.

Pj

that my friend is a very northern sport...do many people even know what that is? I have relatives in North Dakota, 'eh we know...

Thank you, from the redheaded mom to the other

I'm a redheaded mom too! I cut off 12 inches of my hair 1 1/2 years ago and donated to Locks of Love too. I was really, really nervous beforehand. Now it about the length of Molly's and red (as long as I keep getting rid of the grey every 6 weeks or so!)

So, that could be letter size or legal size! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

well not really, just turn the files one way or the other, they fit in the same box. yes I do know they have different sizes, but you know what I mean

I can go see it....and if you want me to I can always buy it and send it to you (or see if it can be done store to store) and if you don't like it then you could return it to your Macys. Whatcha think?

So, Marr.

We know that there are two types of Records box, the kind that holds papers (9x12x17) and the kind that held LPs (12x12x6), either way still has to be under 20lbs (with a 5 lbs grey area to 25 lbs). Which are cruisers permitted to send to IDS?

Pj

When I asked him he said the "records box" to which I asked if that was about 12x12x10 he said "yes around that size" So I am thinking if I use a box sized close to that it would be fine. It is all about having it being a size they can manage. I can only imagine some of the things he must have had to deal with before!

Got Paul's Mexican shirt today, it's good. Not that he will wear it for anything else, but it's good for our trip.

The xerox boxes our paper comes in here at work are great and they are heavy and sturdy. Think I'll use those!

Can anyone online answer a question for me? The disney transfers from the port in Los Angeles go to LAX? Is this right? Is a 12:45 flight too early?

THanks so much Marr!

No biggie and the real thanks goes to the guy who runs IDS as he took the time to call the Coast Guard and DCL and get it worked out. Although I will admit I called the Coast Guard too. I am a nut yes I am! Watch it will be MY BOXES that are hit on by the dogs and searched. :lmao:

If I can find it to touch I just might, he needs a good carry on. He has had a few cheapie Disney ones, but they aren't good quality and fall apart after just one trip.

It's a samsonite, it should be good. I can't wait to see him toddling along with it......I want a picture!!!
