Our DD will be at the kids club together:goodvibes My DD is 5 was border on Kinder or not and we didn't she's an Oct. bday my DS is 7 so she's used to having an older brother too.:thumbsup2 I totally get her because we are alike:goodvibes

Brooke turned 5 in August. I took her to the teacher that Ethan had in kinder and asked her if I should put her in or not. She said yes and I am happy I did it. She is getting bored already. I was just worried because Ethan's birthday is in May and he had a hard time. He does well in school now but it was a fight in kinder trying to get him to do homework. He was a little immature as well.

Just popping in quickly....skimmed the last 20 pages or so everyone posted today....

We watched Hairspray today (finally) and that is such a good movie. I had to buy a projector for the classes I have been teaching recently, so I brought it home and hooked it up to our dvd player so we could watch movies on the "big screen" The girls loved it.

Hope everyone had a great easter!

!
How fun for the girls:goodvibes Hope you had a good Easter.

Lisa-great pics of Disney looked like so much fun...I especially loved the underwater one...please do post the camera you used when we got ours we had our hearts set on an underwater one but couldn't find a good one and settled on ours which we overpaid for on our last cruise (didn't have much of a choice we left our camera in the rental car and when we checked to see if anyone turned it to lost and found of course nobody did:sad2: ).

ok, I didn't want to say that, but yes...that is a problem here :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: we just get louder and louder and then laugh uncontrolably:lmao: :lmao:

I have a friend that talks as much as me and we always make each other laugh because we are always cutting each other off. We just keep getting louder and more animated!

It was a hard choice with my DD and I still don't know if I made the right decision...she's been reading for a year and a half and she starts kinder in the fall.:confused3 We just put her in the elementary preschool that is mostly just play but at least she's learning spanish(its a full immersion program) and I notice she started regressing and getting lazy so now I'm starting to have her read books to me again girls mature faster than boys and she is the youngest so use to being around an older sibling so I thought she was ready. I had her tested and she didn't pass she counted to 69 they said her math was at prek level she nailed the book they handed her to read yet they said her reading was at prek level:confused3 I found out later that teacher didn't pass anyone... the school is so overcrowded they had to add a fifth kinder teacher. My DD goes with the flow so she would have been fine in either scenerio but I don't want her to get lazy and want her to be challenged...we'll see....

I'm watching the Newlywed game show. It's so funny.:happytv:

Happy Birthday Cork & Joseph! Forgot to include you all with my quick post earlier.

Ok, I think I am offically over 100 pages (more like 140) behind! Nan, I need to coordinate friday with you and hopefully I will get a chance to PM you if you are available that early am.

Hugs to all, as soon as the next load of laundry finishes in the washer, I am heading to bed!

The problem with kindergarten for my daughter is that they do the same thing every day. Count and calender and reading and everything in the same order. I don't think she is far ahead of anyone she just doesn't like the same schedule everyday. She is reading but I think Ethan was reading better. Yet the teacher gives her better grades than she gave him because she is good in class and Ethan was a typical boy. It is a hard decision, especially now days when everyone seems to be a year older when they start.

I have to go to bed now. Everyone have a great night sleep or have fun watching game shows from the 80's!

Quick post, and then tomorrow I'll try to download the photos.

Telling the kids was just great. As we were walking up to the door (and the treasure map was taped to the door), my eldest said "this was the best Easter ever." I just smiled to myself as I knew it was going to get a LOT better!!!:lmao:

So they walk up to the door and examine the map, start questioning what it is. One son says "oh the Easter bunny must have left us eggs here." My eldest said "of course not - a bunny couldn't write a map like this with his big hands." :rotfl:

So they find the treasure chest, and just love it. They thought it really was from Mickey and the Easter bunny for awhile. It was so cute. My second to youngest still believes that it is from Mickey and Captain Hook. The older two know it is from us (for the reasons I posted earlier). It was just beautiful. They are so excited. They spent a lot of times looking over all the stuff in the treasure chest. I got some photos of them all holding their passports. They are in heaven!

Steve, I chatted with my sister at Easter dinner today and I think we aren't going to be able to do an early morning coffee afterall. We are expecting to stay up late on Thursday with my Aunt & Uncle and sis was hoping for a bit of down time that morning next morning when my Aunt is at work, and since we are going to have a really late night on Friday, as we are out for dinner with them and then going to head over to the park late late to have an early start on Saturday I can't insist without being a jerk about it.

So, anyway you will be coming to the park on Saturday or Sunday. We'll be running full force with Marr & kids and Steph & Tay, but would be fun to see ya there if you are up to it.

Let us know.

Unfortunately this situtation doesn't get much better for kids that are on the top end until they are in much higher grades or have GREAT teachers that can give them extra attention or harder lessons than the rest. This has been the plight for us with Wilson. This year in 2nd grade he has gotten teachers that will work to give him harder work. But even with that he still is bored out of his mind with the mundane stuff that goes on in his class. I keep telling him that he will get out of school what he puts into it. Some days that works other days he is a normal 2nd grader with emotions of the same.
