I am not sure I made it clear, but the list of rules aren't mine - I stole them from another thread. Just wanted to make sure I gave credit!

I think there are a couple things I'd change with the rules - I think they could come home after 9pm if they are in the clubs. So must be home at 9pm unless in clubs or with us. Unless it is May 15 - bed early that day since it is early to rise! Other than May 16, I will let the kids sleep in as long as they want. Also, the rule about the elevator - I think I will tell them if they have to go more than 3 floors, elevator would be fine. I want them to walk more and also not be tempted to push multiple stops. Sometimes it is just a mistake when the kids do it, but it does tend to get others pretty mad.

If anyone has any rules to add, please do so! I love Nan's idea to laminate them. If we want, I can laminate a few of them - although I imagine most of us will want to go through the rules multiple times before getting on the ship. But as soon as I get them final, I will get them laminated on a small card that can be attached to their lanyard. What might work well is to have the same rules for a group of the kids - kind of like school. That way, they have the peer pressure to follow the rules (hopefully not peer pressure the other way!).

Ah yes and we can quiz them for Disney Dollars!!!!
:lmao:

How are the Easter basket, priate luggage coming along?

I've got a few AG things for Molly, but have to find some stuff for Wil, thinking it might be time for a new baseball mitt. Easter Bunny likes to bring that kind of stuff here.

My Husband is a sergeant for the police dept here. I bet he can get us some!!:lmao:

hmmmm law and order (we have quite a few lawyers amoung us) we better watch our step, or put the lawyers on retainer :rotfl:

Ok, so I had to go see my grandmother in the ICU last night. She fell off her front porch going after my cousins toddler. She caught him and he is ok but she hit her head and had to have 19 staples. She opened her eyes yesterday and is responsive and starting to breathe on her own. They said it she hadn't caught the baby he would not have survived. She aspirated in the ambulance. Everyone is trying to keep their sprirts up. They are trying to bring her off the sedation but she keeps trying to pull out her IVs. This happened Ths. night and I found out last night b/c my dad couldn't remember my phone number. My Uncle now has my number. I am going to the Augusta GA today at 4. Ok sorry that was so sad.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. Prayers for your grandma and the rest of the family.

I've been wandering around the Dis, trying to catch up. Found this is on the meets thread. Sounds like the engines are fixed. :cool1:

Folks, other moderators and I have no problem with you stating your disatisfaction in the cruise. None whatsoever, feel free to do so.

But keep in mind the DIS Board Basics in doing so.

Things we don't want to see include,

-Attacking each other. You don't agree? Fine. Agree to disagree but directly insulting arguing won't happen.

-You want to complain to DCL? Sure, here's who to complain to.

Disney Cruise Line
Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10210
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0210

Please don't post any other methods, as they will have to be removed.

-Conjecture about the status of the ship. I went to serious efforts to find what was the real story. The following is confirmed information, and is not open to discussion.

The ship had a failure of one engine en route to St. Maarten. When they left Port Canaveral all were up. This is as much a random act as the weather, there isn't a way to predict it. And under normal circumstances wouldn't have affected the cruise, but combined with the severe winds you were sailing into forced the Captain to reduce speed and made you late for St. Maarten. Engine repairs were complete by the time you sailed for CC, and had no bearing at all on your missing the island there. I know that's a minor point, but still needs to be made, as the Wonder also aborted docking at CC in that timeframe due to the same conditions you were trying to dock in. Ship staus had nothing to do with missing CC, it was simply double bad luck. :(

What you're entitled to is none of my buisness, I wasn't on that sailing. That is up to DCL to address your feelings and make good on it if they need to. Good luck in getting it settled.

We are staying onsite before the cruise and will be shipping a box to the hotel ahead of time, they don't seem to be as strict about items shipped and the size of the box. We will also send one box to ship but in the required dimensions and weight limits.

I know awhile back Shirley posted that the owner of the warehouse was pretty frustrated that people weren't following the guidelines and he was thinking about not offering the service.

This is from Shirley's Helpful info post.

WHERE I CAN SHIP BOXES TO:

why not sneak them in the elevator...that would have been me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You must have been there, huh? :confused3 :confused3

From what I heard, this "group" was in the elevator, door opened at 7 and there stood the ship's officer on the telephone right there, door shut to elevator real fast, went up to 8 and thus the useage of the deck 8 to deck 7 AFT staircase.........

We are suppose to fly out of SLC Sat night and fly back the following Sat. night the 29th. I know the drive you are speaking about up to Ventura. I know those special friends of yours but it might be too late and too long of a drive. Are you planning to go to DL on Sunday? Easter Sunday? maybe we can hook up on sunday depending what you all are planning on?

come on now I thought you were a gourment chef?!

I am trying to figure out if I should do a scrapbook for Ann of her 50yrs old so far?? any thoughts?

Yes, I think we will most likely go to DL on Easter Sunday. Once Jamie knows where we are at and what's going on, I'll have a better idea of what to do.

Guess I should go Priceline a couple of hotel rooms this morning.

Does Ann read these boards? If not, I'll post a thought I have.....

Get a see through over the door hanger to put on your cabin door to hold all the little things that float around your room - brushes, toothpaste, shoes, keys, goodies. It's well worth the space in your luggage.

The over the door shoe holder thing is the BEST. We bring ours on all of our vacations, but it comes in especially handy for cruises.

WOOHOO!

I hope your grandmother is ok- that sounds terrifying!

We got a Disney Planning DVD in the mail today, and Olivia is loving it :)

Oh wow - we did that in 2005. I totally agree - it was interesting for a very short while - then boring. We went back to our room and watched the neighbor ships from the verandah. That's probably what we will do this time - or maybe from Diversions. Wasn't it the Diversion's window that took the damage last time? That would have been interesting to see! On our cruise (the first Mexican Riviera) they auctioned off the window with a piece of wood sticking through it.

No window took damage on the WB PC cruise, however small pieces of the ship ended up on the outside on the window wells. However, at our first port, the Crew was out before the ship was cleared through customs and they were already painting over the scratches and nicks. One of our friends picked up a "piece" that came off the window well and had the captain autograph. Another "piece" the auction company had framed and had an engraved plate on it and the captain signed. That "piece" on the 8 x 10 frame with the engraving went for a mere $10,000

Now we are getting the ball rolling!! Let's get it in Lime Green too! ;) Cordon off the area. Post guards. Must show ID prior to entering the area. Kids get the first areas (ok short kids, as I'm betting some of you have tall kids!). Our other "height-challenged" members are in with the kids or just behind them. Taller folk at the back. Shorter folk watch out for longer zoom lenses hitting you in the back of the head ... Those that are not as interested could run the nourishment/beverage route for the others. ;):goodvibes

I think that is when the other guests on the ship start saying those
D*** disboard people!!!!

Yes, that is correct.

The more you guys talk about the PC crossing and getting to see anything, the more I told Amy I feel like sleeping in. The talk of pushiness, the pirating of chairs late at night - jeesh! I'm the kind of person who will give up my spot for children, and does not even like waiting for the parade at WDW because of the pushiness.

With the great number of adults on this cruise and the anticipation of less children - I just wonder how much regard some of those adults will have for young children. I don't need my blood pressure to go up if they start pushing my little girl . . . I guess I wish that DCL could reserve an area for kids where they could be safe.

I know I am blabbing on and on about this, but it is really a bummer to hear what those of you who were on the last one are saying. Guess I was hoping for more of a "Disney" experience, and forgot that bad human nature will probably prevail. Maybe I'll just watch through the porthole window in our room.

I wouldn't worry too much. Alot of people getted bored pretty fast and there is tons of deck area. Between deck 10, deck 9, deck 4, deck 7 and the verandahs, there was plenty of room to look out anytime you wanted. Most of the young kids were to the Mickey pool as soon as they finished breakfast!

I started pulling out a bunch of shirts for John, all nwt's polos! and in doing so I got out about 5 or 6 pairs of shoes for me and he's like, what is that...what are you doing? I said I am taking them....all of them? Yes, I amy need them! He desn't seem to get why he only gets 3 pairs and I get lots...the girls have one rolling princess bag of shoes only!

I have one pair that I bougth about 4 years ago, never been worn as I have nothing to match them. I am on a mission to find something to go with them!

I love that one...if I had lost weight I would have bought it...but sadly no. Triangle tops are not my friend too much anymore either. :lmao:

Well, if I wore something like that to the pool, I am sure I would clear out the whole area and would have the pool all to myself! :rotfl:

On the EB PC, the crew was painting over the scratches when we docked at Curacao.

Now the DCL site says it doesn't recognise my login info!!! :confused3

I just did my online check-in, and everything went very smoothly, and the website came right up and was fast. I got my contracts, my guest information and my payment authorization forms all printed out and ready to take to the port.

Oh WOW - we are lucky - did not think of the advantage of the verandah for the PC Crossing....and I can be in my PJs.....
