Maybe we can ask in bulk at guest services about the kids in club getting to see the canal??? Worth a try requesting it? :rolleyes1

I think this is a great idea. We should ask them to rope off an area that little kids can go to, or have them do a kids event and the club gets a special area. I really like that idea. I'll be fine watching anywhere - I just would like my boys to get a good view. The way it sounds, if I want them to be able to see the very beginnging, we will need to stay up all night!
Lisa

How many people do you think would fit into their room? I'd love to at least drop by and take a peep out of their window.

Please do come by and say, and I am sure by then you have meet them and it won't be you know weird. I am not sure how many people will fit in since I have never seen the inside of the room yet. The handicap rooms we were looking at on the ta were the ones in the back of deck 6. Still hoping for a cancellation so we can have a real Dis party... I am hoping that their window will have some good photo opportunities out of it. I know I will be checking out that the first and playing with the days leading up to our arrival to the canal.

Thanks Kelly, I received the package and I really do appreciate you sending it my way. It was kind of you to do so. Let the planning begin.

A few questions about the parks at the Disneyland Resort for those in the know. Thanks ever so much for your answers.

At Disneyland, what kind of shows do they have at the Hollywood Backlot Stage?
Aladdin..not to be missed!

At Disneyland, what is Big Thunder Ranch?
Petting zoo most of the time with crafts/activities planned. It opens late in the morning and closes early FYI.
At California Adventure, Is the Playhouse Disney more for small children or would an adult enjoy it?
It's more for the preschoolers, but if you haven't seen it, it is cute and you can feed off the excitement and energy from the 3-4 year olds

At California Adventure, is Monsters Inc. some type of ride?
Monsters inc. is a ride, IMHO not worth more than a 10 min. wait, and the ride itself is cute, but the best part is the lady at the end. Make sure you say "hi" to her right before you get off the ride.
On my way to take the kids to the Dr.Seuss movie. Have a good day all!

I have stayed at the Paradise Pier many many times. I think you will find it just fine. :thumbsup2 It is a very nice hotel within walking distance from Downtown Disney. Disney could not charge $200+ a night if it was an awful hotel. It is not the Four Seasons but it is nice, clean and has comfy beds. The pool is not as fancy as others but we never swim there since we stay there to go to Disneyland. I figure I can swim at home another day.
:flower3:
I really like PP, it's my favorite hotel to stay at. Close by walking distance to either monorail or main gate. The pool is never crowded. Parking is convenient. It's the only hotel with a parking garage right next to the property. I have never had a bad experience there. Plus if you are parkside, you can see California Adventure and the fireworks at disneyland. If you are not parkside, you can go to the deck on floor 3 and watch from there.

Saw it this morning with taysmom and her daughter. Was pretty good and the kids laughed a lot. My son is still talking about it tonight.
I have been over the cartoon movies for a couple years, but this one was really good. I have told adults w/o children, that they should go see it.

Been a week here on the westside of town. Tuesday Mom fell and sprained her ankle pretty bad. Wednesday Alex took me into urgent said I had pneumonia again and had to peal Alex off the ceiling. So they gave us drugs and sent me home to rest. Thursday night starting to worse like really scary worse. Alex said i will take you back tomorrow just keep taking the meds so they have a chance to work. While we were getting ready to take me back my mom calls and says having a heart attack. So kenzie stays home with me last night, and alex meet them at the ER. he was there until the wee hours of the morning today, but when he came home and heard me. He took me back in. The doctor said I don't have pneumonia again but a serious sinus infection and if they had a good exam they would of seem it. She was even disgusted by her fellow colleague. So we came home today with more meds. The cough syrup is working but man its every four hours on the dot. Took all my doses of antibotic don't feel much difference in the breathing ability.

Now alex is off to work, mom's at the hospital with dad and i can't leave the house. The phone are all turned back on since dad went back into the er so i am answering all incoming calls landline and cellular. So my prayers with the man above have been a little harsh these past twent four hours.

I am suppose to meet the property manager company about the renter renewing for another year. I am hoping that i will be able to travel out to LA for that by next monday. Are you guys going out?
Come to the NanVeranda...all are welcome...bring smarties or be a smarty pants..
Smarty pants..huh...referring to me???:rotfl:
Ok so the Scavanger Hunt will be on the 15th a Sea Day. I am thinking around 9:30am. Does this sound ok?
Sounds good

As far as the Canal day is concerned....
Is there anyone who will not be up on deck 10 besides me?!? We'll be there all day, and if you've seen one lock you've seen them all. I hope everyone is up there so I can have the pool all to myself :woohoo:
I am also starting to feel overscheduled on vacation..anyone else feeling that way too? I fear I might retreat. I have been trying to keep track of everything I am signing up for, can't wait to see those mini navs. So i'll know what my plans are for the day.

I hope my sisters have fun at disneyland. I will be home with my child relaxing for the weekend. No disney for us yet. BUT SOON!

And, I just got my tax refund info in the mail for the extra money. Of course it says it will be mailed sometime in may, while we are gone. But it will be nice to come home and know I will have money to pay off the CC from the trip!

So everyone have a fantastic st. pattys day tomorrow. I have to catch up on a ton of work ugh!

Yes and no. Good for during the vacation, but bad when you end up with an 8 hour time difference when you get home, like we will!

Good for those arriving home to CA though :thumbsup2

I prefer going East at the beginning of a vacation. I totally exhaust myself the first day and go to bed early, wake up the next day and I'm usually pretty good to go. I find red-eyes help with my strategy.

Hi guys, I'm just back from our DL Dismeet at DTD, I forgot my camera so I won't be posting pics. But everyone else took lots of pics. It was a very, very nice group of 19 people who drove from all over the place to get to the meet. Most drove for 1.5 - 2 + hours to get there, so we really appreciated their effort to make it. Most of had nice food - Bubba will post pics. We ended up with nice sunny (slightly breezy & chilly) weather instead of the expected 54 degrees and potential rain. Everyone else was headed into the parks and other destinations, I'm home with the sick family for movie day.... picked up some kettle corn from DTD for movie day. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and we are looking forward to our next meet in April. Thanks for coming everyone!

We're home now. Parks were pretty crowded after the meet but we had a great time - got to ride in the Lily Belle. (I'll post picutres of it later.)

It was great to meet everyone (or see them again). Can't wait for the April meet now!!!

It was nice seeing Makin memories yesterday. My dd had fun at the movies and lunch. I ran home to get ready for my event last night. Had a blast. I love the software they were using and picked up some bargains at their auction. I am an auction junkie.

How did I miss that the first time???? I didn't think you were asking me, I thought it was another...

Smarties....yummmmmm

We arrive Burbank I think 7:10pm (Aunt and Uncle live in Pasadena, we'll spend one night with them) and depart SNA hmmm 6:15pm????

We are talking with my Aunt tomorrow about our plans. We thought we'd spend the night with them on Thursday, but unsure until we chat.

I see that you are in Burbank itself!!! Once I get the plan with Auntie I'll let ya know and we can figure something out.

Maybe drink that night or coffee the next morning???

If we are talking about you arriving Thursday night the 27th, I have a meeting with other Knights from 7:30pm until 9:30pm but am availalbe after that or for a bit on Friday morning before I have to go to work. I may just tell the other knights to start without me and do a quick meet at the airport (only 2 miles from the house), but I am the scribe for that council. If you are arriving on the 28th, there is no problem meeting you at the airport and escorting you to one of our fine pubs here!

Sir Steven...
The Queen of the West will be visiting Royal Family in the Hamlet of Pasadena... she requests that you meet possibly for some ale or other drink sometime during her stay...

How do you say?

QOE.... :)

I am hoping to arrange the jousting schedule to meet with the lovely Queen for some strong ale. See above!

Yes, Jamie and I are headed for our annual mother/daughter trip next week (which is the only free time she has). It is her 16th birthday in April, so we are celebrating our annual trip a little early this year. She doesn't know where we are going or what we are doing. I told her to pack summer clothes and a dress and a swimsuit. I bought "premium" tickets for Wicked Friday night in L.A. She has wanted to see it for a long time. I also bought the backstage tour passes at 6 p.m., so we will do the behind the scenes tour before the show. Seats are row J, orchestra, right in the middle! We fly into Long Beach leaving here Friday at 11 a.m. I think, and then fly back Monday at noon from Long Beach I think.

I haven't made hotel reservations yet, thought I might bid on Priceline and I had an offer to go stay Friday night in Ventura with disboard friends (just don't know if I want to drive from LA to Ventura that late at night), so I'm undecided at this point.

She will have a great time at Wicked! I am thinking about going again to see it. You may want to find a cheeper hotel in the North Hollywood area and just take the Red Line subway to the theater (The Pantges is across the street from the Hollywood & Vine stop). If all else fails, I am in Burbank and depending on the weekend, may have a few spots open in my place. In either case, enjoy!

Kelly, great job setting up the meet today. Only question, who was that lady in the photos with no name? or listed as unidentifed person?:lmao: The brunch was lots of fun and a good time was had by all. I will miss not being at the other meet in April. Thanks again.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I just came from our DISmeet brunch and afterwards I said to Curt "I keep forgetting how much Kelly talks".

Yes, she talks a lot, but not in a bad way. When she's talking she is probably saying something that you want to hear. She listens also and she lets you say a few things. :rolleyes1

Susie & Curt, I think it was great that you brought your DD to brunch today. Made me feel bad that my boys could not come too as the three of them would have had a great time together. Look forward to seeing you on the cruise and I may take you up on your offer if the boys don't make it into the club!

I sure will not be setting an alarm for the crack of dawn. I figure sometime during the day I will be able to see!

I am sure my alarm clock (#1Son) will be up at the crack of dawn to have me going out with him so he can see everything even if I don't want to!

Take a deep breath! Remember to exhale and breathe, it will all be fine. It can be overwhelming and natural for you to feel like retreating but your friends won't let you retreat. We will come find you. Don't worry about the picking up the gift I will get them all! I was feeling the same way until I remember how well everything went last year and I had a really great time. :) Please don't do anything stupid like CANCEL the trip!

Hey everyone! We are back from Jackson Hole. The figure skating competition is over and it went really well. I have a very happy child. I need about 10 hours of sleep in row.

She is freaking out a little about not skating for 2 weeks on this cruise, her coach is going to give her some off ice stuff to work on, so hopefully it will not be too bad.

When the pictures come (I can't take pictures when she is skating, I forget what I am supposed to be doing and watch her instead. I have a whole video of the side of the ice skating rink) I will post some.

I know I have been gone a long time, I apologize, life just got in the way.

Kim

With all this talk of 10 Forward (Gee I wonder if we'll meet Whoopi?) and the mean and pushy people that can occur there, it got me to thinking.

There are an awful lot of us as a "group". We could "intimidate" a few others quite easily. If we all organize ourselves, I'm sure we could all be quite accomodating for each other quite easily.

"Ok kids in the front and arrnged from shortest to tallest." I'm 6' and I don't mind standing behind someone shorter, but usually my concern is watching out for my kids - they are both quite shy and won't stand up for themselves and will not speak up when someone invades their space or pushes them out of the way. So that is why I usually try and make myself bigger than normal.

But if we were to get together and put some sort of organization in place .... well we could control 10 Forward! LOL ;)

I'm only a kid at heart, but am only 5' tall - so can I stand in front w/ the kids?? Chances are some will even be taller than I am :lmao:

So much for the green grass I posted about yesterday...

This is the scene outside my house today:

There was green grass there where the girls were playing last night!!!

Here you can see the snow falling i the background.

I think I'm gonna go to bed and not get up until Spring is actually here ... :(
