Like a tuxedo with tails?

Woody

Well I did say, that I bought the tux now. My preference had been to wait until April but apparently that would have been a bad move, because prom season starts to eat up all the tuxes on the used market. Apparently tails are extremely popular.

Maybe after the cruise is over, I'll see if I can start crashing proms. I'm sure I could pass for 17.

I'm pretty sure most will get room assignments before we get to the port. Lots of us were CAT12 GTY last Dec (the price was great!) and we all got assignments about 30 days out. It will be fine. Really.:goodvibes

Thanks Angie.....no worries, be happy!

Yes, tremendously.....so there is no need for a master list keeper and no phone calls even......we just go directly to the boards and post what we want.

If I post on deck 5 that I moved to deck 7 how will all the other people know or do I have to check all the boards on all the floors. I guess me and everyone else will have to check all the boards on every floor on a daily basis. This way I'll know who is where so that I can give out fish gifts and get fish gifts. If you say this works and you have done it before, I'm all for it. I'll just check all the boards. Thanks.

Anything important should be on each board.

I will print the mini-nav's at the last possible minute before leaving for FLorida, so hopefully, I will have everyone's stateroom numbers in the min--nav and the only changes will be last minute upgrades (if any are available)
Great idea!

Woody

So I'm thinking of having a St. Patrick's Day mini-party Saturday evening when I pick Tyler up. We already have plans to get together with his best buddy and sister, so I also just e-mailed the mother of Tyler's little girlfriend from school to invite her (but if she can't come on short notice, that's OK too).

We picked up some cute St. Pat's sparkly green plastic hats in the $1 section at Target today (and I'll go pick up more for the other kids for the party).

I discovered some cute things while googling leprechauns for a good explanation for Tyler tonight and the fun ideas made me think, "Why not do a mini-party!" Nothing major and only 4 kids including Tyler, so it will be easy.

Here's what we're doing.....first we'll make leprechaun pudding:
Leprechaun Pudding.
one 1-ounce box of sugar free instant
pistachio pudding for every five children
1/2 cup of milk per child
1 small, resealable plastic bag per child
1/2 cup measuring cup
1 spoon per child.
Put tablespoon of pudding mix in sandwich bag and milk, then close the baggy and have kids shake and squeeze, then eat.

Next we'll make Shamrock wands:

Materials:
green construction paper
scissors
glue
stapler
gold glitter
green straw
thin ribbon in both green and gold
Instructions:
1. Cut three heart shapes from the green paper. Glue the tips of the three shapes together to form a shamrock.
2. Staple the center of the shamrock to the end of the straw to make a handle
3. Decorate the shamrock with gold glitter
4. Cut three or more 3 foot ribbons. Hold the ribbons together and staple them to the back of the shamrock at the center so that the ends hang down from the shamrock wand.
5 Cut several tiny shamrocks and staple them along the ribbons.
Maybe your magic wand will help you catch a leprechaun!

And finally, we'll have a snack of store-bought shamrock shaped cookies with green Hi-C drink. Wearing our St. Pat's hats all along, and with green & white balloons floating around for a tiny bit of decoration without going overboard. Keeping it simple, but something the kids will dig. :thumbsup2

For those who are planning Girl Scout Activities. You can order the badge from http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home.aspx

Our Own Council’s
“Creative Scrapbooking” Badge

Scrapbooking is the act of taking pictures and memorabilia and placing them in a safe book as a way to remember your past. Creative Scrapbooking is when embellishments are used to make photographs more exciting. Some embellishments include matting around the photograph, journaling or a description of what is happening in the photograph, adding color through different shades of background, or by cutting and cropping a picture to show what is important as well as adding many other interesting items to add an artistic flair to a scrapbook.

Complete six of the following requirements to earn this badge.

1. Scrapbook Terms. Like many crafts, creative scrapbooking has its own set of terms and safety issues. Learn some scrapbooking terms and the safety issues involved in
scrapping. Choose from the terms listed below or look at one of the following websites for more scrapbooking terms - www.gracefulbee.com or www.learn2scrapbook.com.

- Journaling
- Creativity
- Layout
- Archival-quality
- Safety

2. Scrapbook Information. When learning about scrapbooking, find out where you could learn more about scrapping in your area. Find at least 3 additional places, people, and/or articles that you can learn about scrapbooking or take a look at one of the following websites: www.gracefulbee.com or www.learn2scrapbook.com.

- Local craft store
- Scrapbook store
- Local library
- Magazines
- Websites
- Attend a local scrapbooking workshop

3. Start Your Own Scrapbook. Scrapbooks and the materials you may select to place in your scrapbook can be found in many different types of stores. Check at your local retail stores, craft stores, greeting card stores or scrapbooking store for supplies. Select one of the following sizes for your scrapbook, and design and decorate the cover of the scrapbook so that it reflects your interests.

- 3 Ring Binder
- 12” X 12” Album
- 8 ½” X 11” Album

4. Design a Layout. Design a layout that is just about you. You may choose your school picture or you could use one of your favorite photographs of you alone. Be sure to journal any information that you think would be fun to remember. Some examples of journaling include: your age, where you go to school, what your favorite food is, what you would like to be when you grow up, or it could even be your least favorite subject in school.

5. Design a Family Heritage Layout. One great thing about scrapbooks is that you can share your past with your future generations. Capture your past by including pictures of your family and the things they did that help you remember their role in your family. Create a layout that includes members of your family. It could include members of your immediate family and/or it could include pictures of your ancestors. Be sure to document who is in each picture, the date of the picture (if known), and any additional information that will help future generations understand the significance of the picture and those in it.

6. Create a Troop Scrapbook. Help create a Troop scrapbook. Create one layout using pictures from a Troop function or outing. Be sure to include information regarding those people involved in the function, the date of the function, the location of the function, and any fun stories associated with the picture.

7. Girl Scout Ceremony Page. For your Troop scrapbook, design a layout showing a Troop Ceremony. Select a Troop ceremony that you and your Troop members have conducted for this layout and don’t forget to journal all the relevant information. Here are a few suggestions: Investiture, Rededication, Court of Awards, Bridging, Progression, Thinking Day or select a ceremony your Troop has participated in as a group.

8. Advancing Your Scrapbooking Skills. Once you have started scrapbooking, you may find that you want to add some advanced scrapping techniques to your pages. Check into your local craft stores, scrapping stores, or your local parks and recreation departments to see if they offer advanced scrapping workshops. Sign up and take a class. Share what you have learned with your Troop.

9. Attend a Crop. When a group of people who enjoy scrapping get together to work on their scrapbooks, the meeting is called a crop. Attend a crop to work on your scrapbook. Be sure to follow the rules of the crop you are attending. Be sure to be considerate of the others attending the crop.

The last litho I got was from Gibraltar on the TA cruise in May and the last sketch I got was the DCL House Party Hostess gift in January of this year!

I didn't realize that he did that sketch! :goodvibes I have a frame for it, but haven't put it together yet.

We stopped in St Kitts on the 11 day Southern. We loved it! It is a beautiful, quite island. We went to a beach on our own and there were Monkey's running all over the beach. We even fed some wild Mongoose (pl?). Sugar plantations are abundant - guess that's why they produce such good rum (did I mention Brinleys Gold rum - it is yummy)!
Awesome! Hope to hear more about St. Kitts onboard.

Woody

Deb, you're right, we don't need a master list keeper because Linda (Seaulater) is actually the list keeper with the mininav.

I should have done buzz one more time...since I got my high score this trip...194000! No kid turning my car around, making me miss! I love buzz...such a fun ride.

I love Buzz, too!

I can't remember my high score, but I don't think it's as high as yours.

You mean they don't hand these suckers out as you get on the ship??????

When I boarded the ship on my first Disney cruise, they WERE handing out free drinks! I was really impressed! Then later we heard it was because there were some bigwigs onboard--it was the first time DCL was stopping in San Juan. It was also (I think) the first cruise for Pirates night.
