So, I'm sitting here at work just about to get another phone call from yet another veteran who did not get his/her meds, or an appt, or someone treated badly, with tears streaming. Thank you for posting this and refreshing for me why I come to work.

It doesn't sound like you are ready to retire Angie. You care about your job too much and the people you help.

John - thanks for the link. Another very moving story.

Hey - that is Shawn's birthday too!! Did I mention he is going to be turning 40 years old!!! (That is for his benefit - it is killing him!)

My 40s were my favorite decade so far. I am looking forward to the 60s in a couple of years though. Retirement will be a whole new phase to experience.

Marilyn and Cork, I just heard from my TA. She was able to put in the 8 PM request for me but not anyone else. I know that Cork emailed DU but I can't remember if you were able to do all of us or not. If not, Marilyn, I am afraid you will have to contact your TA. :flower3:

Our TA was able to put in the request for Rich and I only. I'm pretty sure I read that Marilyn put in her request as well.

Ok got home, didn't feel like running but I did 30 laps in the pool....which is way better for my achilles tendons! Samantha was being a bit smart mouthed so I sent her to her room. She came out for dinner and has been in bed since. Haley is in my room on my bed reading a book. I thought it best to keep them sep.
I am going to take my lap top, lounge on the couch watch AI and wait til John gets home to take some Nyquil.

Deb - don't worry, what I have always done when handing stuff out was go deck to deck looking for fish extenders...which is what I plan to do this time as well!:thumbsup2

We all have to remember to keep it simple - it is vacation!

This is what we have always done too. Dec cruises it is stockings. If a door had a stockings, door magnets and anything else that looked like a DIS room they got something in their sock. :thumbsup2 I am sure there were people on board with stockings that wondered where in the heck that stuff came from! :rotfl:

No, I'm ready. We just hired a really neat young woman who will replace me when I leave. She will take fine care of my veterans! I told her the other day that I feel really good knowing I am leaving them in good hands. :goodvibes Now if that silly house would just SELL!

I am so boring...no shopping, no packing, no checklist. I will wear whatever I have here and pack one day ahead of time. That gives me a day to throw in things that I had forgotten to pack. I don't stress too much about packing. Of course I don't have kids to pack for so that makes it a lot easier. And I make DH pack his own. We have never forgotten anything important and I figure if we do forget something we can always purchase what we need.:goodvibes

Donna

We used to always hear "It's not like you are going to China and can't get something if your forget it." After two trips to China we discovered even there you can pretty much get anything you forgot to pack. :rotfl: It makes packing so much less stressful now.

Cords and medications are about all I worry about now.

Yep, meds and cords. :thumbsup2

Well I can't believe that no one in this group has booked their shuttle from the port in LA as of yet.

So what time did everyone else book it for?

Marilyn and I are both requesting some assistance, please. Pretty please with smarties on top.... ;)

We are taking Disney Transportation. :)

Hi everyone,

I called DCL a little while ago to make sure all my SBC had been applied and while I had the agent on the phone I asked if she could see which dining rotation I had. I'm down for "late", I knew that, but wondered which of the three times I had.

Anyway, she said she had heard that for the PC cruises and the Westcoast cruises they were going back to having just the 2 seatings, not the staggered times. Who knows? Just thought I'd pass that along.

Well so much for consistent info from DCL. :confused3

You either call the person who is the master list holder or you go to each door and change them yourself. Anyone can post anything on these boards, even a quick hello or meet me at scoops. Or you can call the people who have the boards on their door and they'll change it for you. You can look in the mini navigator and the list will be there so you can call them yourself. Does that help?

Yes, tremendously.....so there is no need for a master list keeper and no phone calls even......we just go directly to the boards and post what we want.

If I post on deck 5 that I moved to deck 7 how will all the other people know or do I have to check all the boards on all the floors. I guess me and everyone else will have to check all the boards on every floor on a daily basis. This way I'll know who is where so that I can give out fish gifts and get fish gifts. If you say this works and you have done it before, I'm all for it. I'll just check all the boards. Thanks.
