We are always in AP for the lifeboat drill! That's where they put the disabled people! I always say we would have the last lifeboat afailable! :dance3:

The deck 5 rooms aft also go to AP, they are on the far side of the room. That is were I was in 2006.

Darrell did his PhD course work there. (Has ABD status) we lived in Urbana while he was going to school there.

He liked U of I, he had gone to Illimois Math and Science Academy for high school, and he had some great friends from there that he went to college with, and then he went to grad school there, and he taught a class so they paid his tuition and also paid him enough to cover his living expenses. A really good deal for a kid, I'd say.

But now he's ready for "something completely different" as they say on Mony Python!

Hello all!

It's been a while since I have had time to join in on the fun that is DISBOARDS! :thumbsup2
I am Cynthia, husband JT and our new son Jonathan:cloud9: who will be 7 Mo's when we set sail. I go by Elderfam and want to take part in the fish exchange. my DH and I sailed on the east bound transatlantic last May. While on board my father passed away in Indiana, so this is my do-over cruise. I will say that we soooo enjoyed meeting fellow disboards members last year and look forward to meeting all of you in May.
Is anyone doing lanyards for this trip?
Please let me know if I can help in any way.
Warm regards,
Cynthia

Yeah!! Another DCer!! Where to you live....we are in NOVA!!

Angie, isn't today your birthday?
:bday:

HAPPY BDAY ANGIE!!!!!!
Mine is August 14th, so I guess that makes you younger than me :lmao:

You got it baby!!!! We're both leos???? So who's in charge????

That's a kid's job, right?! :rotfl: But when I look back on that memory now, I wonder how I managed to avoid getting nailed in the face with rocks.

I think we all wonder how we made it through childhood!!! :rotfl:

Silent Generation 1925 - 1945
Baby Boomers 1946- 1964
Gen. X 1965 - 1981
Millennial (Gen. Y) 1982 - ?

See... that's why it didn't work out between me and my exBF... I was a boomer and he was a Gen Xer.... Of course forget about the fact that I was a Mets fan and he was a Yankees fan...

Update on the sad Easter Bunny situation of yesterday: On the way to school this morning, Tyler told me, "I'm so sorry for what I said yesterday about the Easter Bunny. I need to see him to tell him what kind of basket I want. Can we please, please go see him today after school?"

So.......here's what we did today on the way to karate class:

Great Pic Holly..... LOOK!!!! The Easter Bunny got to get his picture taken with Tyler!!!

aaaaaaaa I thought you said underware!!!! Change underwear!!!!! Must wake up and read more closely, but then it wouldn't be a funny now would it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'd say get your eyes checked, but mine aren't much better...:rolleyes1

We know what you mean - can't hide an Aussie accent anywhere or from anyone !!! (but a lot of people mistake us for Canadian or English - very different to my ears, but go figure!!):confused3 :thumbsup2

I'm going to mistake you for Nicole Kidman:cutie:

I was interested in doing the Dis'er group jeep tour of Aruba. I see 3 people already on the list on our website. Could any one of you PM with info on how to tag along or start a new jeep group? We can get our own jeep, I just wanted to be with the group if possible.

Thanks!

Lisa/DL5.....I'm so sorry to hear the news about Frank. My heart goes out to you. Sending lots of hugs and prayers to you and the family. Don't let this change your plans to go to WDW with the girls. You need the time away.  :cloud9: :cloud9:

They do not know what is wrong this time.....seems like his liver is okay. I told you guys he has two drainage bags (I know gross) that I was cleaning and flushing 4 times a day. Well, when I got to the hospital tonight he announces that he had a 3rd bag. He told me he had a colostomy bag now. I was like WHAT?????.

I told him, you need to have an operation to get that type of bag and I know they remove some part of your gut...not too sure what they take out.....anyway I was freaking out...thinking what did this hospital do without permission or what did my DH not TELL me????? He insisted this was what he had.

I went out to find his nurse and sure enough....he was so wrong. He had a catheter ... I was like "Frank ...a catheter and a colostomy bag are two different things!!" He said "You know they both come from about the same place....!!" OMG...MEN!!

Anyway...I am tired ... we are all worn out.....I really need a vacation (WDW is not exactly a vacation!!).....When does this trip leave??

Cheri, I think you said your birthday is May 23rd....same as my moms.....

Thanks! But I think he's spending time with a friend of his from high school. He is at Santa Clara right now. Mike is going to be there this weekend for the admitted students day on Saturday (March 15) He has to decide for or against Santa Clara by April 1. NYU, Duke and University of Virginia are by May 1, so he'll know which one for sure by the time we sail. Thank goodness, that will be one thing less to worry about. He has his Master's in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois at Champaign. We are from Illinois, and that is where he grew up. I think he's ready for an adventure.

I think he's going to choose NYU just because it is completely different from anything he's ever known. Of course, it is a good Law School, too, so I am OK with it, although his dad would rather he go to Virginia or Duke, because he thinks it's more rural.

University of VA is so beautiful!! (not quite as beautiful as VA Tech.....:lmao: )

My kids alwasy thought the Easter Bunny was dumb......they believed in Santa for years and when they told me the Easter Bunny was fake I agreed and told them the nasty old malls are just trying to capitalize on the success of Santa....and it worked with all 3 of them.....

You know, that Bunny doesn't really look like he could jump from house to house in one night all over the world....YA THINK??:lmao:

Hello everyone. I couldn't find the original posts about the girlscouts meeting on the cruise but I wanted to tell everyone interested that I spoke with Brooke's leader today and she said she thinks there is a patch for cruising. Brooke is a Daisy so she can't "earn" patches or try-its but she can get the one for the cruise. She has one for scrapbooking as well. I really don't know the difference, I guess she just can't earn certain patches. Now the little ones can get something just like the big kids!

Good idea I'm sure that I can find a patch :thumbsup2 . Patches are fun badges are earned.

Well, looks like I am all alone...going to bed....11:27 pm here and I am beat. I was up all night last night with Frank.....

PM lillygator and she'll let you know if there any open jeeps!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGIE!!!

Hope you had a great rib eye with Dr. Hug and hope that all your wishes do come true. You deserve only the best in life! We'll toast a cheers to you onboard. I look forward to it!

Girl Scouts of the USA sells a patch called Passport to Adventure, it has a ship on it and stuff. It can be found on their website under patches. They also have a scrapbook patch.

A company we use called advantage emblem has a scrapbook patch. They have a website you can check out their patches on. There is also a company called Joycrest.

Hope that helps

looking for the passport to adven now, can't find it, can you post the link please? we also have the scrapbook patch at our Council office. Actually we've done it before, there is an activity for it I think. We did it a few years ago, I think as Brownies.
