Good Morning!!

I have to quickly catch up on the last 9 pages ... but wanted to say HI!! :goodvibes

:tinker: Karen

Nope I don't pack for my husband.
Nor my wife either! :rotfl:

As for pants and shorts. I certainly will pack more shorts than pants. I have a few pairs of pants that zip off the legs so I can combine shorts and pants. War the shorts all day then zip on the legs and go to dinner.

I'm also packing my suit, a tux and a my pirate costume. Thinking about leaving the patent leather shoes at home and just going with one pair of dress shoes. Will have to see how they look with the tux. I'm only planning on bringing one swimsuit (cause that's all I own).

I'm more worried about packing the camera equipment and other electronic devices. I can always buy more clothes if need be. I'm pretty sure Disney will be willing to sell me another shirt or two ....

Since we always buy T-shirts, one trip I did not pack any. My plan was to buy what I needed....every have to buy a T-shirt when you are on a cmaping vacation and every store is closed on Sunday????

That was a one and only time mistake.

Wow, can't believe that other thread. With that being said, may I just remind everyone that nothing is set in stone!

I know at times we have planned our dining rotation based on what shoreside has told us with regards to formal night and then when we got on the ship, the nights were changed and weren't what we thought. RELAX AND REMEMBER YOU ARE ON VACATION! Like Ducky Williams says everytime he does a presentation

HE WOULD RATHER SPEND HIS WORSE DAY AT SEA THAN HIS BEST DAY ON LAND AT HIS OFFICE

With that said, I can't wait for this vacation, and I don't care what I eat, where I dock, etc., I just want to enjoy going through the canal!

Hello everyone. I couldn't find the original posts about the girlscouts meeting on the cruise but I wanted to tell everyone interested that I spoke with Brooke's leader today and she said she thinks there is a patch for cruising. Brooke is a Daisy so she can't "earn" patches or try-its but she can get the one for the cruise. She has one for scrapbooking as well. I really don't know the difference, I guess she just can't earn certain patches. Now the little ones can get something just like the big kids!

Well said!:thumbsup2 I do think we stress too much.

Though I would still like to know our room number.:lmao: :lmao:

Would like to know what was said. If you don't want to post it here we will have to remember to discuss it at dinner one night okay?

Carol

Carol,

I've emailed Leslie and I hope she sends me the info. :thumbsup2

GIFT CARD UPDATE, PICTURE UPDATE, ETC.

Sorry for the delay in posting this since I was on the Wonder, but here are the answers to the questions raised that I got from CM's about stuff:

1. Gift Cards-the CM's really like the Walmart Gift Cards. I talked to a couple of different CM's I know about their time on the California Coast back in 2005 and whether they would like gift cards at different places rather than Walmart. The answers I got consistently were that they really never had much time off the ship because a) the serve breakfast and get everyone off and then if they do have time off before getting back on, at most it is only a couple of hours, so it doesn't give them time to explore, just time to run to Walmart to get the personal items that they need to restock up on.

2. Telephone cards-the CM's I talked to really don't use the telephone cards anymore. Specifically, I talked to one server I know extremely well and she said that she can now stay on the ship and not even get off to call her family. She said she can talk for 2 hours to her family (foreign country) and it only costs her about $10, so the CM's get a really good deal (unlike our $6.95 per minute!). She said standing in line on the dock, trying to use a phone, and using a card is not efficient with their time off, so she uses her time by using the ship CM phones.

3. Pictures-okay, so there is NO WAY that we can get 300 people on the secret deck 7, or the CM pool deck. The CM pool deck is definitely out of the question. The suggestion I got from my friend in Shutters is that the Goofy Pool Deck on Deck 9 is perfect for a group of 300 because they can take the picture from Deck 10 and get everyone in the picture. With that said, I would need to make arrangements once on board because we would need to have the cover on the pool. SO my thoughts were that when we were leaving one of the ports, the pool alot of times is covered for sailaway parties from the different ports, so maybe the best time would be to do it when we are leaving a port after sailaway when everyone disperses and the pool is still covered.

4. Picture-Champagne Gals. No problem. However, we may need to be flexible with the time because at 4 p.m. on PC day, that may be at the time when we are going through the last locks and the photographers are out on deck taking pictures.

So, I guess the word of the day is.................

FLEXIBLE

If we can be flexible, than I am sure we can get our picture needs taken care of. As long as I have stateroom numbers in the mini-navigator, I most likely will be able to do a group message to all the disboard members to your stateroom phone to give you information if it changes during the cruise so I can call and give updated information.

Okay, did I miss anything I was checking on?

I'll walk downstairs to our Girl Scout Shop and ask if we have a cruise patch or scrapbook patch.

Thanks Linda.:worship: :worship: :worship:

DH is a big boy and can pack for himself. :rotfl:
However, I do give him a DETAILED checklist. ;)

If I let my DH pack for himself he would have one pair of shorts, one pair of pants and no underwear. So that means I would be doing laundry all the time!

Basically they said

Baby Boomers, idealistic, Loyalty to the company. At the job for the duration.

Gen X do not plan on staying with one job or company throughout their career. They won't sacrifice their family for their job. They challenge authority. Self reliant.

Millennials, optimistic, tech orientated, expects answers now.

I am generalizing, I hope to get the detailed info.

oh if I let DH pack, nothing would coordinate together and he'd probably have no undies or socks.....a pair of flops and bathing suit would probably be it!

That is probably true the first or second time but sooner or later he would catch on and learn how to pack wouldn't he?

Nan - love the tulips! We have tons of stuff in our yard....but one lady stole stole some lemons from DH's lemon tree....he was watering the yard at the time and he hosed her down!!!!!!

don't mess with any of his plants, ask, and yes, he will give you anything but steal.....

ya know, I'd most likely give one or two also if someone asked...I wish I had a hose handy....

Maybe because you're not hoping to receive cool firetruck/emergency vehicle playsets or GI Joe stuff or other awesome toys! :rotfl:

Oh great, I have to take them back now? That's what I got for her :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: The GI Joe was lifesized too :rotfl:

Our flight got pushed back more! Not arriving now until 10:48pm on the 9th! Wow that is late. We will be some tired but happy folks on the morning of the 10th!
Lisa

I don't know what I was thinking when booking ours. We leave SJC at 1pm thru Midway arrive at MCO ~ midnight. That will be a long day for us too. At least it will be only 9pm in our west coast minds....

I know! I think it is payback for the credit I got from United! Lisa

And thanks for the info to whoever, I think it was you Lisa to check on Southwest for credits. I got $35 back on our flights, not a lot but hey better than nothing...

We're waitlisted for main, so I'm sure we'll see you there too! And that goes for threebritts (Heather and family) who we're dining with. I hope we get it, otherwise we'll miss many dinners.

If keeping Tyler on a routine is important to his treatment you could request main dining and back it up with the medical needs statement.

Girl Scouts of the USA sells a patch called Passport to Adventure, it has a ship on it and stuff. It can be found on their website under patches. They also have a scrapbook patch.

A company we use called advantage emblem has a scrapbook patch. They have a website you can check out their patches on. There is also a company called Joycrest.

Hope that helps
