In UK we are now at 108.9p/litre which is something like $8.26/US gallon:scared1:

Albert (DH to Bilbo UK)

Don't know what kind of litre (liter) they are selling you but in the US liter it still takes 3.8 liters to make a US gallon and 1.08.9 still works out to $4.14
per gallon.

BTW here in central Ohio it was $3.59.9 yesterday. Haven't been out yet to see how much it's gone up today.:rolleyes1

Doug

Somewhere your math is flawed. There are approx. 3.8 liters to a US gallon. 3.8x$1.09 = $4.14. Still high but a long way from $8.30.
Doug

Doug

Not $1.09 per litre, £1.09!

The online conversion tool I used said 4 litres = 1.06 US gallon. So I did 4 x £1.09 = £4.36 x 1.9 exchange rate = $8.28.

Neglected to say you were using Pounds in which case at a 2 to 1 exchange rate it does work out to the $8.30 per gallon. I stand corrected.

Doug

Are, but if you are paying in £'s, not $'s at $1.996/£1, I think you will find the math works

Thank you.:thumbsup2

I know my maths isn't the best, but I also know that buying petrol in the US is far, far cheaper than buying it in the UK.

morning all. I ended up watching a movie called the Graveyard. Kind of a B movie I guess.

Now I am at work, trying to get everything caught up. Trouble is I can't do much until the month has actually ended.

Julie - I think it was you who asked why they had to destroy the alligators...well a few years ago there was a case in Sanibel (which is known for lots of alligators and the locals have always tolerated them, avoided them and been respectful of them) where a woman working in a yard by the canal was attacked by an alligator and partially submerged. She survived and was hospitalized but then later died from septic issues that arose from being in the water so long. After that they passed a law here that if an alligator was over 4 ft - which is not BIG at all - and aggressive, it must be destoyed.

They also feel if an alligator wanders into yards, homes, etc, it has lost its fear of people and thus must also be destroyed. It's a shame they can't take them to the zoo, AK or put them down in the Everglades.

I know, more than you wanted to know.

Important in FL, when you are near any kind of canal or lake it is important not to walk along the edge especially with young children or animals, gators see that as food! It's amazing how many people still take the chance, then lose their dog and then another animal has to be destroyed.

:lmao: now let's get into the discussion of US football and UK football:lmao:

Yes the math is right above since the dollar is weak. The site I use when needing to convert currency is www.xe.com

No it doesn't! The figure of £1.09 per litre that I gave is in pounds sterling (£). At an exchange rate of approx 1.9 US dollars to the pound, 3.8 litres would cost US$7.87.

Trust me Doug, we pay about twice what you do for petrol (gas)! :scared:

Doug now you have to do the money exchange from USD to UK Pound.

So the pins have been announce, and one is the logo pin, so I grabbed a pic of it and here is our cruise logo, look for it on shirts, mugs, hats, etc.

I am not sure if I even like the pins with the characters on them, them seem sort of fake looking to me.

They seem really cartoony and not real classy or should I say classic looking. We will buy them anyhow I suppose to have as a momento!

GAYLEAN, REPLY TO LISA

She did! I guess LISA didn't see it though.

Well, nice to see you Albert!

I like the Castaway Cay, Panama Canal and LA pins most.

Pj

Where are you guys seeing these pins?

.
I don't want to go to work today, I want to stay home and read books and play on the DIS and organize trip stuff. Ah well, I also want to torment my co-workers with my trip countdown.

YIKES...didn't PM all my Palo folks about our brunch (silly me figuring they'd see that lonely post several threads back....:lmao: ) Better do that right now!

.

Good morning all! I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought of was this cruise!! I have a lot to do to get ready and realized that I will probably be spending less and less time on the boards (at least that's what I think!) so I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe journey to FL. Whether you are coming from far away or close by, I hope everyone arrives safely and ready to party!!! I know I can't wait!
