Holly, any response to Gydell's idea of having Blake go with you on this cruise?

I never asked him. I thought that would be a bit awkward, since we haven't even been able to reconnect yet. And knowing him, I doubt he'd set foot in an inside cabin (which is what we have) and if he's still the same as he was back when I knew him, he wouldn't pay the high prices of what pops up as available every now and then. I'll e-mail him about it though and he can check it out and see what he thinks.

We just have to make this cruise happen because I just remembered that I'll have about $1000 extra income in March. I have 6 lia sophia parties booked and the average party nets about $200, so if I get the average, I'd have an extra $1200....just in time to take with us in May.

Yea, email him and see what he thinks......that's a good idea. He should want to do it just to be with you for two weeks!

OK...I have to get off the couch and get moving. Off to go pick up Tyler's new glasses (took 2 1/2 weeks to come in)! He'll be SO happy when he can finally see right! Then a quick lunch and lots of shovelling. No gym today because I know that shovelling will be a great workout! But you all know I'll be back off and on today until I pick up Tyler at 5. Then.....we'll have dinner and we're going to the MONSTER TRUCK SHOW! I have big earmuffs for him to wear from when I worked at the airport. I took him to the show last year and he LOVED it! He asked me recently if we'd ever go again, and I said, "Sure we can, when it comes to town again" and I checked online this past Wednesday to see when and found out it's tonight! Yikes! Good thing he mentioned it. So I quickly bought tickets and he's pretty excited! I actually loved it too....I'd never been before and was amazed! Different trucks will be here this time. Saw Big Foot last time, but this time there's a Hummer, which Tyler can't wait to see. And there's a jet powered LazyBoy recliner too! And that giant robotic dinosaur that breathes fire and picks up cars & snaps them in half!!!!!!!!!!!

This is SO how I felt when at 19 I moved to Chicago to work in advertising. Lordy, that was good time...being in my 20's, enjoying the 1970's lifestyle and all those lovely, young account executives! Dancing at the Playboy Club, seeing Godspel at the the Schubert, experiencing some fine dining (when I was the GUEST) for the first time...yum yum, turtle soup with sherry, a basket of hot rolls and a vodka gimlet at the Epicurean for lunch! Visiting the Art Institute, Lincoln Park Zoo and the natural history museum and aquarium WHENEVER I felt like it! OH...AND SECOND CITY!!! Ah, to be young in the big city

Ohmigosh ... I just noticed that noone is currently planning Door Tag (unless I missed something, and if so, please let me know).


I would have prizes for everyone (delivered by my crew to each fish extender or door) after each magnet has been completely signed off.

What do you think? Do you want to play??

We did a version of this on the Double-dip, though we left behiind a wee-giftie when we tagged someone. (This would mean you wouldn't have to go to the expense of a prize for each participant.)

Around that price. But it doesn't make sense to turn a 15 day trip into 7 for the same price. So I'm going to work harder to find a way to make this happen.

Yep....this is when we see what a value this trip is for those who booked early. Holly, here's hoping it all works out for you! We know you'll make the decision you can live with.

On ebay a couple of people are advertising fish extenders, actually calling them fish extenders. One does mention Disney, but doesn't really explain. The other doesn't explain at all. Anyone who comes across them while looking for, presumably, fishing supplies must really be confused!

I was just telling DH how funny it would be walking past all you DISers into the dining room WITH MY PURSE!! Now that would be perfection!

I actually called the manager at the Nordstrom at the Mall of American a little while ago...I'm not sure anything will change but he will look into it. It does seem a little strange - I still had the plastic on the zippers and everything. But truly, the BEST thing would be to keep the purse, go on the cruise, and have a DOD with everyone....including HOLLY!!!

Thanks Deb! I'm working on it! Just got some good news in the mail. I'll be adding $200 more on my cruise balance on Monday, then I'll only have $800 more to go! And if Tyler's dad contributes, and if DCL is willing to extend me until 2/15, that would take care of it.

The CM told me she didn't think there was anyway they would cancel before the 20th so you are in!!!!Yeah!!

Okay guys ... I would be interested to know who does/sells/represents what .. especially as far as homebased sales (Tupperware, Candles, etc.).

I would be happy to give my orders to someone I knew would put the $$ to good use ... like another DCL cruise

Don't get me wrong, I don't buy much (not interested in having a "party"), but sometimes need a few things.

I also would love to share any travel help/tips (not necessarily the DCL stuff, which I am sure is well-covered by these boards, but info for land, cruise, rail or ??). Not out looking for bookings/commissions, but I am happy to help and I often receive information regarding upcoming rate specials before they are posted and often can find better rates (on my agent engines) than are available to the general public.

Feel free to PM me directly if that is more appropriate, but I have been know to purchase candles and tupperware (for my own use) ... sometimes purchase jewelry and scrapbooking stuff (for friends mostly) ... and would love to give my orders to my DIS friends.
